    Gillan is one of the most icredible voces in rock, he did not have a lot of technic to protect his vocal cords, he was just singing with passion and you have a price to pay because of that.

    Love this. And it´s organic, not processed/autotuned/digitalized unlike modern stuff.

    • @djpassout
      @djpassout 9 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      +dolphin66
      It is processed in the standards of that time: compression/equalizing double tracking and a sh*t load of reverb. In other words: what is organic?

    • @dolphin66
      @dolphin66 9 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +djpassout you got a point there. But at least it´s not processed to the point where it´s hardly recognizable as a human voice, like vocals get treated these days :)

    • @djpassout
      @djpassout 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +dolphin66 yeah different, times different taste. But most vocals nowadays are still recognisable as a human voice and capable of delivering (great) emotion. Like Adele for example but even more abstract stuff exist which is also amazing. But a lot of modern music is crap or not special enough and will disappear in time. So it's not fair to compare the generic modern stuff with a classic like this which has been proven in time.

    • @profilen5181
      @profilen5181 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      djpassout Yeah, you are right. But listen to the "Live 1970" version. He does exactly this without the double voices and all the reverb. Just proves all these add-ons made sort of little difference.

      RustuPai You can't blame him at all. It was fucking inhuman that he could even do it in the 70's. Wish they would still play it live though without screaming.

    • @RustuPai
      @RustuPai 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I'm not blaming him, haha. It's normal to lose high notes (and gain low notes) with the age. Ken Tamplin shows it's not inhuman on his "How to Sing Like Ian Gillan" Video. Although I think you can compare Tramplin's full of techinique screams with Gillan's full of emotion yells.
      And I agree with you. They should play it live anyway. I'm sure Gillan would find I way to make the song sounds cool even not hitting the high notes.
      Cheers

    Like I said in my reply to rafatavana, these mastertracks are mostly used in rythm-based games such as Guitar Hero. The reason why they put the vocal and the lead-guitar track on the same track is because it will save some space instead of having yet another track. (Because the vocal track is not used during the solo anyway, obviously.)

    These mastertracks are taken from games such as Guitar Hero. The reason why they have the mastertracks isolated is because if you miss, that track will get muted, obviously. So you can find mastertracks to any song that's on Guitar Hero, Rock Band and games like that.

    • @tjordulf
      @tjordulf 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      whilst I realise my reply is six years later, its worth pointing out to readers in 2019, that a 'Master track' actually refers to the mixed down (composited) version of the finished track, which has then been 'Mastered', which is a separate and later process than mixing. It is the final EQ'ing, Level balancing between songs so they are consistent volume on an album, and adding that final punch and polish, so it is 'radio ready' ie ready for public release. What you are referring to is the 'Multitrack' where each individual instrument has its own unique track or channel as it was recorded, although for purposes like Guitar hero etc, then what are called 'Stems' are used, ie, types of instruments are subgrouped together, like all the drums, on one stereo track, all the rhythym guitars on another, keyboards on another, backing Vox on another and Lead Vocal on its own.

    • @jaganjacfan
      @jaganjacfan 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it's just original tracks, like someone got a hold on them somehow. Even back then when a song was recorded in studio, you had different channels for different instruments and vocals, and it's all mashed up in editing.
      Or maybe it's program, maybe technology went this far...

    • @tjordulf
      @tjordulf 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaganjacfan You are correct, this is just the soloed Vocal and lead guitar solo and organ tracks, with all the other instruments muted on the desk. There are some programs that try to separate vocals etc from the whole finished track , by using combinations of phase cancellation and eq'ing but frankly they sound crap. if an instrument happens to be in the same frequency as the vocal and in the same place in the stereo field then you can't separate it. Its like trying to remove all the bricks in a house without disturbing the roof, floors, ceilings and windows!

    Il y a pour moi un truc qui gâche tout dans la voix de Gillan, c'est l'utilisation du chorus qui fait se superposer des vibrato de la voix, et qui donnent l'impression d'une voix à peine juste. C'était pour moi une fausse bonne idée d'avoir ajouté ça.
