And oh dear, looks like that slogan cancel machine ran out of ink 😅 You would think one in three would get a good cancelation.... No such luck, but I commend your efforts. Here in North America the slogan cancels seem to have the same poor quality as well. Also the mail service seems to have it in for you with pen cancels 😂. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for another interesting video, Richard. Here in New Zealand postmarks and/or cancellations are not done AT ALL anymore, at least since the end of last year. Every now and then a cancellation is done by some of the post offices, but it consists of one line and a date - don't know if it is done by machine. It is horrible, I think. No postal history and prove of use of stamps!
Most of the mail I get from UK has pen cancels, and they're not parcels or special delivery but are ordinary letters and postcards. Why don't they go through the cancelling machine anymore? And you're right, when Royal Mail does put a spray-on cancel on my mail, it's often illegible.
