    Primates should never be pets. They need to be with their own kind. Their troops keep them on the happy road.🇺🇸

    Chipping in from Colombia, where macaws, ocelots, spider monkeys, etc. are kept in indoor patios illegally. It should be strongest: cannot have wild animals inside a home with humans. Period. Thank you for your work. Remember as well, we must protect their habitats or else they will NOT survive.

Your work with the monkeys and for the trade is just unbelievable, you and Jim plus Jeremy (along with the staff) have worked and done so much over the years. Jim is proud of you and Jeremy for carrying on the lives work he/y'all started. Thanks again.

      I wish I could help too. My state in the USA allows for “exotic pets” provided some pretty strict rules are met. Even a very small animal has to have full containment. They check everything. It sounds a lot like this. We don’t have to be a specialist, but we have to do it correctly. It’s so important. Monkeys are a lot of work and certainly worth the joy of having them around. I adore this wonderful woman. Thank you for your kind comment. Have a good week💛💛💛

    I’ve just come across your channel. I wish I knew about this sooner but I hope that there was enough information to put arguments to the government to bring in this legislation. In my opinion there should be an outright ban as these are intelligent animals and we don’t have any right to keep them as pets. You are doing sterling work rescuing these animals and treating them with kindness and respect. I’m humbled by your dedication and commitment and you shine a light on the goodness of the human/animal relationship.

  • @ZippedUpKitz
    @ZippedUpKitz 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    The bird cages are cruel! If they can meet the needs of the animal and give it the proper attention and treatment, then I see no reason why someone could not give a primate a proper home… I do not think primates should be kept in a birdcages! An enclosure that offers the animal the ability to go outside and be in the trees and experience the ground with grass and other vegetation is important… if a person cannot offer this to the animal, they have no business having one… primates are not like cats and dogs… you can just get one and set out a bowl of food and water and call it good! These people sho7ld have to go through training courses before they are allowed to have a primate in their care… I do not know the laws in the UK so I cannot speak on them… but I do hope you all get things sorted out over there! Good luck!!!

    The province where I live in Canada has a complete ban on primates as pets. If a research lab needs some they must submit a document stating why and a comprehensive plan for the care and treatment of the animal. Not all provinces have the same rules as we do. I know that right now those provinces are reviewing their policies but they plan to be less strict than ours. Most animals look cute when they are innocent babies but people don't think about the fact that the little animal was stolen from it's family and that in a couple of years it will be an adult wild animal and a danger to itself and it's human home. I hope you are successful in passing this law and successful in letting people know that this is cruelty for profit.

    Yeah, go for it, British People! In Switzerland it is forbidden in general. You need a regulatory Approval and will be checked on regularly. Requirements require special knowledge and are otherwise very high. This applies to the common squirrel as well as to all exotic species. Still there are a lot of honks who try to smuggle exotic species into Switzerland. I only can say: do as much as you can against this!

    If I were queen of the world NO WILD ANIMAL would be a pet!!!!!
    Unfortunately, before I had this epiphany I had bought and adopted parrots. After owning them a short time I realized how cruel it was to keep a creature of the skies who was do intelligent and emotionally complex. Thank the Lord I had the sense to get small and medium size parrots, so that 2 of them have predeceased me. The last one is 20 and has a life span of 30. Im 69 and pray she dies before me or Ill have to will her to a ssnctuary.
    There are plenty, in fact a surplus of lovely domestic animals bred to thrive in a captive life.
    Bravo to England for beginning the crackdown on
    Primate ownership.
    I know of 2 sweet vervets here in US that are being pdychologically abused on camera on Reddit. No one can fo snything zbout it. 😢

    A couple years ago actually about 4 years ago maybe even longer anyways I have decided that I wanted to get a monkey and everybody said the little finger monkeys were great to have and that was the marmoset... Or maybe a couple chin or squirrel monkey but the more I look into it the more horrified I was at what people do to obtain these monkeys to make them pets when in reality you can't make them pets unless it has been a trial domestication four generation and it would take quite a few generations to make them domesticated for being a pet and I was seeing pet owners mutilated by their monkey the story about Travis and the lady with the friend that was horrified and I've seen clips work people are encouraging baby monkeys to literally to eat the smallest monkeys are in captivity that is the most horrifying thing to watch I didn't want to but I want to see if there was some means of my ability to help and really the only help I can give is by not getting one by not going in thinking a wild animal could be a pet and that they would be domesticated just cuz I threw a diaper on him and a bottle in there mouth doesn't quite work like that cuz you will know... When you take in a monkey you need to be very well aware of that animal has teeth and that animal male or female will reach puberty and start getting ramey to reproduce and during that time it becomes dangerous for your children if you're full-grown woman and it's a chimpanzee stuff like that or a full grown man with a female chimpanzee venom start seeing more and more people do they remember they remember somebody being kind but you're not kind when you try to make a pet out of them it's like tying a dog down by a leash but only making it so if they got up off the ground they would choke themselves trying to stand up to move away so they can't... That is kind of the same realm keeping a monkey their beautiful they're wonderful and got some of these animals are increasingly smart like when I watched Jeremy and Sally when she was coming to pass it really it broke my heart because she loves Jeremy... Ensure me showed Sally respect for her position in the group she never tried you never try to cross that he knew what Sally like and when the kids got their treats foods toys whatever she would go up high with whatever Jeremy set aside just for her but watching her feel horrible and him that was a level respect but he also knows going into the chimpanzees orangutans or even the marmoset can be very dangerous because they bite and they commuter late and they can do some serious damage... Now let's do more than just talk about the monkey you have the care of the Monkees you need to make sure they have an appropriate my son like everyday and you still need to give them a boost of D3 so that they can get keep their bones good and healthy then you need to figure out when someone shows this we've got the father died and he took over the role of and I'm drawing a blank on the name sorry about that you got stuff you have to pay attention to diabetes you have to pay attention to wait and you need to pay attention if someone is making a monkey a victim you don't like dark Charlie who wasn't getting any a lot of food and he had to wait and go running bag and sometimes he could steal something to get going but it was still these animals even though they're wild you cannot you have to do so many things medical health you need to help them mentally also to overcome what they were traumatized and horrified by Phoenix Presley if they're caraway's why would you want to kill you don't 15-20 minutes to get a baby for a couple thousand bucks do they not realize it a chimpanzee when one of them hit their stride and their males I'm sorry I'm bad with names lately you have the second-in-command who died of a heart attack and people thought more than once she was making a play thing for hernana (sp?) ... You've got stuff like that to deal with those big boys can bring down a thumbing ... I'm going to cut off because I I know I got a soapbox go in here and adri others meet heard than just letting myself hear me talk but I agree with Allison it is very important that wild animals stay in the wild... Poaching should not just be outlawed these guys that post these monkeys can we poach them put them in a tiny cage and feed them when we feel them when we feel like it... I wish all of you the best of luck on this pet trade thing we might be coming out of covet we don't know all of what kind of happened over the couple of years that basically the world was in lockdown I have a feeling it just made things easier to get away with the wrongdoings.. Allison I want I listen to your 15 your conversation about losing Jim I am truly sorry you lost her husband and I know that you two seem to communicate fairly well... I wish everyone the best of luck and all the endeavors and who knows someday I might knock on the door and go can I come in I want to see the monkeys sorry that's a nosey neighbor type of thing.. I promise not to do that to you.. everyone try to stay healthy happy just remember every corner you have a bell curve for what happens some good some great and not so hot 😀😃😁.. sorry couldn't make up my mind on which emoji so you got all three

    Dr. Alison, I think because I watched your channel and orangutan jungle school, TH-cam feed suggestions brought me to monkey channels in Cambodia. It’s disturbing. They dress them in clothing and create scenarios and post the videos on line. Once they are no longer babies they are released into the wild. One little guy in particular has been so abused. Allegedly his owner drugged him, beat him, and broke his jaw. He has been released but seems to have fallen into the hands of some VOs that continue the abuse. This is a link to the latest video of Charley. th-cam.com/video/FsS0cpleh8U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=iMIFOKHoHkiLCABE. The jaw is much worse than when he was released a little over a week ago. I don’t understand why they don’t arrest Charley’s original owner. Allegedly she does this to all her monkeys. Allegedly, unlike Charley, they don’t get released back into the wild, they are killed. Whenever one of her channels is shut down a couple more are started. I understand that people need to make a living and making ‘cute’ monkey videos is the only way they think they can do this. I would like to believe that most people doing this are not intentionally cruel to these babies. However raising them as a human and releasing them into the wild doesn’t work out well for the monkey most of the time. The difference that I found with Charley’s original owner is that she allegedly abuses all of these monkeys by drugging and beating them. She then creates a video. For example, “Charley had to be released because he hurt Saka monkey so hard”. They will show a video of poor Saka monkey with an eye that’s been swollen shut. This is an example, I don’t really remember the name of the monkey that Charley hurt “so bad”. Anyway if you could take a look at the link, you can see the situation that Charley is in now. In some videos he looks drugged. I don’t know if there is anything that can be done for him. But I figured if anyone had connections, it would be you. I know that there a few VOs at the park that don’t interfere with the monkeys, but there are many who do awful things to upset them and ultimately get more views. There are a couple of video channels that show what happens when these animals are kept as pets. Those might be helpful in future presentations to illustrate your point about the pet trade. Anyway, I hope you or someone you know can step in and help Charley. It’s heartbreaking. Thank you for all of the hard work you do.

    Ellen are you planning on building some more at the monkey World cuz you're going to need more space for all these monkeys and animals that you're going to be rescuing I'm sure it's a lot and I really think that the monkey trade should stop to I hope that's in the paperwork so
