Saludos.

Rarely will so many experts gather on one forum and share their expertise. Scribes take down every word, so future generations may benefit from their guidance. Doesn’t matter if the video portrays Segal, or Grand Masters who have dedicated their entire life to their art, we will all be warned to NOT be impressed. It’s through the criticism of others, that these keyboard masters try to convince us of THEIR expertise and importance. Well, I for one am humbled by their greatness and if they scoff at the lifelong accomplishments of any true master, because THEY are convinced that they are more accomplished after weeks of study, then that’s good enough for me and I bow to each of you. Thank you for setting us straight. 🎭
Love to see one of the people who say Aikido doesn't work take n this master he is lightning fast almost too fast to follow with your eyes let alone respond to his moves Really amazing best i've seen so far thanks
What most of you guys dont understand is that Aikido IS NOT MEANT to be used to fight evil like youre out of a Rocky movie, its meant to help you get away when you dont have any other choice. It doesnt have to be super useful in a street fight (even tho, if you have good reflexes, it can still be applied). Think about people getting assaulted on the streets: the other person is not going full MMA against someone if they want to rape them or to take their purse, they will probably grab you, your clothes, or your belongings. In those situations Aikido comes real useful since IT IS whats MEANT to be used for. Idk why yall think: not doing it in a ring=staight up useless. what kinda hoods do yall live in, where getting into street fights seems the number 1 problem?? Also another issue with yall is that 90% of people who judge Aikido have never in their lifes experienced a technique on them. It may look like the assistant is colaborating too much or being over sensitive, when in reality its either you move with them or you get your arm broken. This shit hurts like hell even when theres little pressure. I once asked my Sensei what would he do in a specific situation, i pretended i was attacking him with a knife (at full speed also) and he, in a matter of two seconds, had me on the floor without me cooperating or moving to help him. His body moved out of muscle memory and did it without me warning him or anything. This proves that when you actually learn it correctly and practice, you CAN use it in a street fight or whatever you guys do in your free time.
I love all the expert commentary from people who think they are martial arts experts. Technique demonstrations are not fights or sparing. I hold blacks in four different arts and a military career of a myriad of martial training. No art looks the same in the dojo as the street. Very few techniques work as in movies. Everyone defaults during a fight. I have seen people very well trained in various martial arts who cannot execute in a combat situation. I love the simple utility of jujitsu and I love the training in aikido. After 40 years I can pick and choose what I do, or how I use my skills. Working in a public school I have used aikido hundreds of time a year stopping fights and attacks without excessively hurting anyone or getting fired or arrested. It work and works well. If I need more aggressive techniques I have them. Most of you have very little idea what your talking about. Here's a clue - the more definitive you are, the more wrong you are.
Oh shut up, you sound like an old woman, this is bull shit, this just proves to me YOU know nothing about fighting, of course it works in a school situation when you are probably over 200lb and you're stopping two 60lb kids from fighting.
My Japanese language instructor in high school was at this level. A kid tried to stab him once during class and in a split second the kid was restrained and disarmed without sustaining a scratch. Teacher could have easily killed him. Aikido is a versatile art that allows for either gentleness or brutality.
@@Catgat37 Don't make me spend 20 years in MMA then take on a journey humiliating every single aikido practicioner on Earth. Beating cultists sounds like an interesting hobby. Aikido is BAD (Bullshit And Dumb)
@@alexandru6747 lol why not just let them do what they want lol people know what works and what doesn’t it has been proven time and time again people shit on aikido all the time if someone enjoys doing it just let them be
Aikido at this level is no joke. What an amazing thing to watch. Long time ago I was used as a assistant prop by my "instructor" at a much lower level because of my size (stout) yet ability to flow with him and then take a fall. The trainee has to flow because If you don't flow you will suffer irreparable harm on the simplest of movements. The immense amount of pressure applied just to your wrists travels from your finger to your elbow then to your shoulder socket. In one moment you are tippy toe trying to prevent your arm from being destroyed to flying like in a car wreck to immediately slapping the mat because again the shear pressure is applied down your entire arm. LOL I have read comments where guys are like "I would sacrifice my arm being broken in an arm bar from a BJJ match" but this ain't that. Your arm socket ripped out, your elbow broken, you entire forearm turned into jelly, your wrist destroyed and your poor little pinky finger twisted out of socket. In a single "event". Not even talking about the ground impact where your ankles get broke because they hit the ground so hard, the broken ribs if he decides to kick, or knee you or the broken neck from the fist strike. There is a ton of very odd looking Aikido videos that unless you know what you are looking at it looks stupid. And some are for sure. But this ain't it. Look at this assistant's body being thrown around. Think what it would take for you to get that kind of velocity on another human body. And the instructor is not trying to hurt his assistant. Then there are videos of Aikido squaring off like in a competition. This is where it's not as effective if at all. In my most humble opinion Aikido is very well suited where you have "one shot" to remove the absolute life threatening attack like a knife, sword, bat, stick, gorilla punch. For me I think Aikido practice was the most amazing experience I have had in life. The serenity (we were a silent dojo), the flexibility you trained to achieve on every joint and muscle, the learning to fall, roll, recover then just learning the throws, locks, the ability to just fade away from the attack then bring in the momentum at just the right moment. And the tradition. It really is a beautiful style IMHO.
@OrangeCaesar1 You were fooled. Please, if you get in a physical altercation with someone, don't try what has been taught to you, you will get murdered.
@@asersah you've nevet watched a jiu jitsu match. The best way to throw someone is when you use a grab to countet into a throw. Also if you have no expierience be it in the streets or in or the ring it will make or break you.
Real aikido is when the nage takes advantage of a real attack, this is no different than any aikido, except he's yelling, going very fast, and doing more atemi... I'll give him credit for the atemi, but the kiai is supposed to be louder and in their face. The problem he has is that he's not actually being attacked, aikido doesnt work unless you are being attacked.
I get that this isn't full speed but dude, look at 1:09 it's pretty clear he just stood there. Plus what was his attack even? Was he trying to hold hands?
The Spiral Energy. The Centrical Force. You are the calm in the Eye of The Hurricane.this is why it take years and years to master. And this guy uses his energy and movement in a very powerful way. So fast the Uke has no time to react. Very good demo.
All arts have their benefits...yes even Aikido. What most fail to realize is that in order to apply ANY technique first you have to stop the attackers thought process thereby his physical action...in that way the proper application of most techniques have a probability of actually working. 1. Block or evade 2. Cause pain by hitting soft targets 3. Maneuver to a position of advantage 4. Apply a takedown or immobilization technique 5. Run away
I can only assume you critics are ignorant about life in general, because if you had any life experience you would know that most arts do practice like this including BJJ and judo. If the student does not go along they will get something broken. MMA has a mixture of all the arts so picking on this one and doing a comparison to MMA is stupid. Most importantly none of you can ever have been in a real fight, in real fights the people are not stripped down wearing lycra shorts, there is normally a lot of posturing and grabbing from which any competent Aikido, BJJ, Judo or jujitsu exponent would be able to drop someone. I trained in Jujitsu and I see many similarities in these moves, Aikido is a defensive art and also a graceful one well worth the time to learn. But as most of you know nothing about any art other than being key board masters, you will continue with your ignorant perspective on everything in life.
The other thing they are missing is this: in a real fight an attacker will use his hands to try to grab or hit. An aikido guy can then grab the attacking wrist or hand or arm and do an aikido technique. This is especially true when a puncher leaves his arm extended. People forget that aikido can also be offensive. The aikido guy can make a move (grab, whatever) and do his thing. People also forget that aikido is actually a form of jujitsu. It's effective if done correctly.
@@bgdavis5089 There is no offensive action in aikido. You must have studied something else. You are literally reacting to somebody else. Atemis come after the opponent moves to help land the technique. Atemis are not strikes perse but more distracting in nature.
@@akaroamale475 lol Calling me a snowflake after your long-winded whining is really funny. Come back to reality, this bullshit martial art doesnt work, period.
Here, hold your hand here like this.... wham! Gotcha! Okay, now I am convinced that Aikido is the real deal... Honestly, the Aikido guy is an excellent athlete and I am sure he could defend himself to a degree.
This is not aikido, this is "real aikido" invented in Serbia by mister Vracarevic and used by Russian and Serbian special forces. "The Real Aikido defense system includes unarmed techniques, as well as defense against weapons such as knife, pistol, etc. It includes of aikido, judo and jujutsu, techniques simplified so that they can be easily taught in security and self-defense courses" This is not holywood boys this is breaking your arm in 4 places before u can say stop :)
captainmanacles works for me. The number of times some asshole has grabbed my arm, shoulder, neck- I can always wriggle out and run. Not my karma. Perhaps your technique is lacking.
From what I can tell, Aikido is not a bad art to learn but it helps a lot to learn a striking or close combat like Judo or BJJ to compliment it especially when going against a fighter whom is experienced in arts themselves.
in normal aikido, the uke (partner being thrown) does not resist because its part of aikido's philosophy. in "real aikido" the uke doesn't resist becuase the tori (partner performing the throw) is yanking the arm from his socket.
....In "normal Aikido" or "real Aikido" - There is no such thing as "normal Aikido" or "real Aikido". All the students that learned closely from Ueshiba later formed their own styles and variations based on what they learned - Some softer, some harder, some even negated the Martial aspects totally and became a healing style. Believing that there is a normal Aikido style simply indicates that you have not yet evolved deep enough into the understanding of Aikido to comprehend the full spectrum of options within Aikido. - and in several styles it is common to resist enough that if the technique is no performed correctly then it stops - or for those having enough techniques in their body they can then transition into another technique.
"It's easy to yank an arm that is being given to you willingly" if guy is holding his hands in his pockets then there is no reason to harm him because he is no danger for you, no offence but stupidity is strong in you.
Finally a demonstration of this fighting style that actually looks like the instructor is trying to use it. You watch segal and the only thing he doesnt do is yawn while his opponents fake their way thru the demo
I think the likes-dislike ratio clearly shows that these trolls hurrdurring about UFC being superior to everything are a shrinking vocal minority. People are sick of all the martial arts fanboyism. Anyone with half a modicum of intelligence understands that martial arts aren't a pissing contest. Competitive combat sports are not the be-all-end-all measure of a martial art's effectiveness. Every martial art was developed with a sparticular set of real-life contexts in mind and no martial art is good at every single situation, not even MMA which is specifically developed for a given set of rules in a controlled competitive environment.
Hello all... He is teaching and showing how to do The final knot. I wish you meet one SENSAI like him in a street Fight... We will laugh much on you....take care...
he and his coach were taught by the Russian special forces, do you think that special forces want to learn something that is not real and can not be carried out on the street
Show me please real fighter versus aikido teacher instead of demonstrator. Then we can talk more... For now I see only stupid guy waiting for punches.Ohhh russia...
in real fight you dont do aikido at first ... just punch or fleed ... But aikido way give you martial mindedness ... Oh, and this is not aikido, in aikido way you preserve your uke
If this guy and Steven Seagull got together they would have a flipping good time. Are you flipping first?, or me? Most interesting dance class I've seen for a while.
Majority of people commenting on martial arts videos have been brainwashed by the UFC. They believe that if something doesn't work in the cage, it is useless. They are those that look to train in brutal styles of combat in order to make themselves better fighters. In my opinion all styles have a benefit to them. One however should not allow the path they choose to follow to become a double edged sword. This will only lead to your own destruction either spiritually or in some cases physically. Aikido commonly is a more peaceful art and when one becomes at peace with themselves they find no reason to fight. They avoid physical confrontations because they can diffuse a situation before it becomes physical. And in this aspect Aikido is a very valid system. "One cannot ascertain the perfections or imperfections of any chosen style if they refuse to see the value of all styles" --- Musashi
@@gordonwallis7275aikido is crap , everyone whos doing it believing in that and believing it gonna give u good skill to counter enemies are completely brainwashed , does it hurt you? well thats the truth
Hyster1a , well you may very well be right. So I’m not arguing. But, people don’t believe me, and say all kinds of bad shit about me, when I tell them what I do. But they are wrong. All I have to do is touch people where they hurt, touch them somewhere else, and their pain disappears. So I know for sure, that sometimes things are not what people think. Here is an example of what I do. th-cam.com/video/8jqgoehVdVU/w-d-xo.html. Here is a testimonial th-cam.com/video/cjBf1W-kW80/w-d-xo.html. So, I’m willing to give this guy the benefit of the doubt. Nobody, except the people I work on, and the medical doctors I work with, believe what I do is real.
Yea no one attacks like that. When was the last time u saw someone attack another person by simply placing their hand on someones shoulder and leave it there??...exactly
What an ignorant comment, don't understand why you guys bother flooding the comment sections with this nonsense just because you have seen a few fake martial arts videos on youtube. You are correct that no one attacks like that, obviously. You miss the entire point of martial arts, and you fail to understand the difference between a demonstration and a fight. You see this is what they call a demonstration, which is why the guy "attacking" is not really attacking at all, in fact he is giving the demonstrator the ideal situation to demonstrate techniques. That is the reason the "attacker" is moving much slower, leaving his hand in place and etc, to give the demonstrator the advantage and also so that the people watching can follow whats going on. Anyone with any sort of common sense would understand that a fight is not predictable, and that studying martial arts is not to learn perfect moves to deal with specific attacks. The point is to train your body and mind, so that you can practice moves and train your body in order to develop your own style, so that in a real fight you have a better chance to adapt to the situation and handle yourself.
Well said Aikido Fan Boy...yes, its hard to realise when someone must see that he wast lots of time to learn a mambojambo "martial" art, talks about "self defense" and must learn by the hard way that a xx degree Black belt is nothing in a real self defense situation. The prob is that no opponent will move like a Dojo Partner. So many black belts get smashed on the street. And that is the sad truth.
The sad truth is you guys are easily manipulated and are just repeating the same BS without having any real knowledge on the subject. If you think training in martial arts does nothing in a real self defense situation, then you have no clue about martial arts or fighting for that matter. Martial arts are not meant to be moves to counter specific moves, idk you would have to be pretty stupid to even think that. Obviously you didn't read my comment, but i'll repeat this, "The point is to train your body and mind, you practice moves and train your body in order to develop your own style, so that in a real fight you have a better chance to adapt to the situation and handle yourself."
Show me a video of this working VERY well in the street as you say... after all I'm sure this art has some evidence to backup its claims outside a dojo right?
gsimon123 Why don't you just look for one yourself? In anycase, there are fewer serious aikido fighters than most other kinds of martial artists and because of that the odds of really finding something like that are gonna make it harder to find. But anyway, here's one that shows a few fights that may have some judo in them as well. Enjoy. th-cam.com/video/Yy5AvZCmEsw/w-d-xo.html
gsimon123 I watched that video and found that it was crap. The first fight had to be fake as fuck, because all the dudes were just rolling around on the floor while still conscious. In any real fight, the only time someone stays down is if they are knocked out or are critically injured like from a gunshot. They also fight him one at a time. It had to be bullshit. The last one was even more fake. The stupid girl even ducks away from a punch completely behind her that she couldn't even see. HAAHAA!! That shit was stupid.
All I'm saying is I've never seen a legit video where Aikido has been demonstrated to be effective in self defense situations. Maybe some of the really basic stuff can be used like holds and stuff but it has been my experience that no unwilling opponent is going to let you grab their wrist and flip of their own accord. Also, catching someone's arm or fist in mid air is virtually impossible. It is especially impossible against someone who has even the slightest training in boxing. You are taught to never leave your hand out ever; Aikido demonstrations always show the attackers getting their punches supernaturally caught mid-swing and then the attacker just leaves their arm out there. They are always looping punches also and never a clean straight punch which makes grabbing the wrist or hand even MORE difficult to grab. I'm only commenting because if people keep peddling these moves as if it will save someone's life and it WON'T then it is literally killing people because they think their techniques work. Get people into a boxing, wrestling, or jiu jitsu class and you'll have done far more to save their life than this shit.
gsimon123 You have a point, but are still very wrong. These techniques are actually a lot like hapkido. They aren't really meant to catch punches, but to apply techniques when being grabbed by an attacker. Anytime someone grabs you on your body or clothes like your shirt (virtually almost anywhere), hapkido and aikido can be applied very effectively. When an attacker grabs a hold of some part of your clothing, let's say your shirt, around your chest, both aikido and hapkido have wrist and arm locking techniques that are amazingly effective. Both aikido and hapkido martial arts will use the clothing as a trapping device. By grabbing and pinning down the attacker's hand (who's hand is still holding on to your shirt) while at the same time grabbing over enough to grab some of your shirt, trapping his fist, you will then be able to apply a wrist or arm locking/breaking technique. Policemen have studied hapkido and aikido for years, because they are very effective and maintain control. Aikido is a defensive martial art. Wild punches that come in big swings are actually very easy to see and catch in both those martial arts. However, boxing has its advantages against aikido because boxers don't grapple and their strikes are meant to be more elusive to the eye. Aikido is mainly applicable against grappling and has few real striking techniques of its own. However, hapkido, especially kuk sool hapkido (the much better, more complete, older form of hapkido), has plenty of all classic Korean kicks and punches (not bullshit from watered down, flawed tkd), and the right kicks easily stop any boxer dead in his tracks. I personally have seen some very interesting street fights between "golden glove" boxers and mere amateur kickboxers. The kickboxers easily win because the boxer can't get inside, continuously gets kicked away in the gut and needs to square in very close to make an effective strike. From so much distraction by all the simple front kicks the boxer would end up taking blows to his face from the kickboxer's punches. And you can guess who gets knocked out. However, against average street thugs, boxing is a fantastic fighting style that truly works and I believe there are quite a couple videos out there that show how fast a trained boxer can knock out multiple attackers. Every martial art has its strengths and its weaknesses. It takes careful study to really come to understand where they all can be applied effectively.
Why would you want to see that? So that the Aikido fighter can get sued for medical expenses? Small joint manipulation means that bones will be broken in a real fight, or is that what you are after? To see someone get tortured?
I’ve never felt so bad for anyone in my life as I do for that poor assistant!

I too was once naive
You are correct sir...and those twats don't count with one, and for me the most important thing, training levels.
Well said. Empty cans rattle the most for sure.
Oh shut up, you sound like an old woman, this is bull shit, this just proves to me YOU know nothing about fighting, of course it works in a school situation when you are probably over 200lb and you're stopping two 60lb kids from fighting.
Stick to collecting star wars figures, and stay away from any fight talk.
Couldnt agree more
Damn!!! But I need to see it with someone really fighting, and not just giving his arm. 🥋🤔
My Japanese language instructor in high school was at this level. A kid tried to stab him once during class and in a split second the kid was restrained and disarmed without sustaining a scratch. Teacher could have easily killed him. Aikido is a versatile art that allows for either gentleness or brutality.
@mon2gy4 34 but very few arts can cause no injury and still diffuse a situation.

Nice speed. Good control, aikido is very useful.
All arts have their benefits...yes even Aikido. What most fail to realize is that in order to apply ANY technique first you have to stop the attackers thought process thereby his physical action...in that way the proper application of most techniques have a probability of actually working.
1. Block or evade
2. Cause pain by hitting soft targets
3. Maneuver to a position of advantage
4. Apply a takedown or immobilization technique
5. Run away
perfektan i zaista realan majstor SVAKA CAST

"How to lengthen a mans right arm"
in normal aikido, the uke (partner being thrown) does not resist because its part of aikido's philosophy. in "real aikido" the uke doesn't resist becuase the tori (partner performing the throw) is yanking the arm from his socket.
k
It's easy to yank an arm that is being given to you willingly. Demonstrations like this are misleading.
Or yanking uke's genitals out from the rear. Which, admittedly would make me more compliant than usual.
....In "normal Aikido" or "real Aikido" - There is no such thing as "normal Aikido" or "real Aikido".
What would you do that to persons that want to give you a handshake or highfive ???

I think the likes-dislike ratio clearly shows that these trolls hurrdurring about UFC being superior to everything are a shrinking vocal minority. People are sick of all the martial arts fanboyism. Anyone with half a modicum of intelligence understands that martial arts aren't a pissing contest. Competitive combat sports are not the be-all-end-all measure of a martial art's effectiveness. Every martial art was developed with a sparticular set of real-life contexts in mind and no martial art is good at every single situation, not even MMA which is specifically developed for a given set of rules in a controlled competitive environment.

"One cannot ascertain the perfections or imperfections of any chosen style if they refuse to see the value of all styles"

Yea no one attacks like that. When was the last time u saw someone attack another person by simply placing their hand on someones shoulder and leave it there??...exactly
I agree...it seems that Aikido works well if someone holds your wrist or comes with a wide and slow swinging "punch"
True.
And they call it "real". OMG.

I watched that video and found that it was crap.
Get people into a boxing, wrestling, or jiu jitsu class and you'll have done far more to save their life than this shit.
gsimon123
You have a point, but are still very wrong.
Why is it always demonstrations?? I never seen an Aikido in real fight.. steven seagal the same thing..
