Thank you for such an informative and easy to understand video. I have been sharpening my chisels without a jig at apprx 45 degrees using a 4" stone and a 2" sanding belt. So far ( touch wood ) they seem to be cutting OK. This little tip will certainly be an addition as and when needed. Many thanks......Alan.
Jimmy, I am really enjoying my new Jimmy Clewes 1/4 in. bowl gouge with this short grind. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and your tools. Your demo with the Wilmington Area (North Carolina) Woodturners Association was so much enjoyed by all.
And that grinds works amazingly well for that application. Great tip Jimmy. Thank you.
I have been doing spindle turning and started getting into bowl turning. Your videos are immeasurably helpful!
Thank you mate.

Thanks so much - wish I had found your Demo's earlier - would have saved hours sanding bruised wood damage.
Thank you Jimmy
What angle is the arm when you switched out to put the final angle on the gouge? Is that 45 as well? Using the platform.
Thanks I will give that a try
Very good tip Jimmy. It always takes an Englishman to show how it's done! Haha.
