French, rugby fan, and Scotland lover here...I absolutely love this anthem and will watch as many Scotland games as I can JUST to hear Flower of Scotland.

In all the films I have seen when a band or solo bagpipes play ‘Flower of Scotland’, they always stop after one verse & the crowd carries on - and always in tune!! Why don’t those playing carry on? Mind you, it is magnificent to hear it unaccompanied.

Not sure why they stop but it definitely adds to the atmosphere and is fantastic to hear :-)
They sing the last part in a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment) it adds to the atmosphere of the game.
