Just an update, I recently bought two TD-H3’s and programmed them both with CHIRP using a USB-C cable. Also updated latest firmware with the same USB-C cable. Used my laptop with windows 10 and the Tidradio software.

    It's pretty awesome!
That being said tho, you might want to mention that the moment you load a radio with "custom" firmware, whatever certification your country's RF overlords issued for that radio, (CE, UKCA, FCC, whatever), is no longer valid, so technically, the radio becomes illegal to use. Not that I personally care about nonsense like that, but some people do, so there's that ;)

Forgive my ignorance as I'm new to this, but does this " USB " mod mean you can programme the radio with your phone or computer? Sorry for being thick 😅

If you have a full licence you can use home made equipment, pretty sure that covers modified commercial equipment.

@@sws6387 You can already program it via USB. The term "USB" in this instance means Upper Side Band.

If TIDRADIO enables the H3 to be used FULLY from USB as an SDR dongle for the program SDR++ and SDR# (Sharp) This will blow my mind...it is a feature I have been wanting from a Radio. And also passing the audio through into the computer just like an SDR would....For Mac, Windows and Linux.

I think that would increase the price alot although i am sure a mod could be done .

That makes no sense. We already have the RTL SDR dongle that is under $40. Adding extra hardware to the radio will only increase it's price and most people won't even use it as an SDR anyway.
