- Our first ever Nationals was a blast. We had our highs and lows throughout the week, but Eli managed to bring home a national crit title! Jack suffered from heat exhaustion in the road race, but had an amazing comeback in the crit, making the winning break and sprinting for 3rd. Eli podiumed in the TT and the Road Race as well!!!!
We want to give a huge shoutout and thanks to everyone who has mentored us, supported us, and helped us get to where we are today. Impressive riding. As someone who rode races in Europe from age 8 till 18, it's exciting to see that the youth is also racing in the US. This video takes me back man, the total disarray for the youth races. Reacting to every attack, going all out from start to finish... Your races will evolve quite a bit, like you'll be able to get some more strategy into your race other than "I'm going for the breakaway" and "I'm staying in the pack" ;) Congrats on the title Eli, and solid 3rd place Jack! Just a tip: being the last man in a sprint isn't always the best position. It is if you know you are the strongest rider of the group. But if you were in the EF rider wheel, you would certainly be second, and even first because you'd benefit from the draft. But great race none the less. Making the jump from the pack to the breakaway was fire.

Awesome performances and slick presentation. fwiw - In addition to the normal high heat index the South hasn't had some rather poor air quality due to the Canadian wildfires. I'm from San Diego. I've experienced some fires before but, living in NC for the past few years this is the first year I've ever felt nauseous out riding. Glad you guys had a great time and took home a jersey and some medals!

Do you guys in the us have gear restrictions for junior/youth riders
Baggage lost, then no time trial. Best to come in at least a day earlier.
Always bring the pedals and the helmet and shoes as carry on, and if the bike gets lost, rent one from a local bike shop.
