I played because I thought the story might be interesting. But to be quite honest, the gameplay loop was actually way more fun than I thought it would be.
The plot is meh, the writing is terrible, that "Mario and Princess Beach" line almost made me cringe to death, but the gameplay is pretty solid and addictive.
I'm going to admit I haven't played it a lot despite having it. But the game is absolutely beautiful, even when it's .. ugly? and I kind of feel like it's worth it for just the experience of playing it on occasion. I never got the addiction to it, at least not so far.
