  • In this video, you'll find out if high stakes MTT CRUSHER Niklas 'Lena900' Astedt, is really just a NIT.
    Today I look at four hands from the Pokerstars Winter Series $530 turbo final table that was stacked with talent including Patrick 'Pads1161' Leonard, Parker 'tonkaaaa' Talbot and Niklas 'Lena900' Astedt.

    More reviews like this please! I love to see the full table hole cards and each person's ICM/GTO situation. Would love to see really quick full replay analysis as well! You could just do overlays of wrong/correct plays! or percentage of correct plays as they happen. Really helpful Gareth!!! Thanks.

    Looking at a so suspicious raise with 14BB from UTG (I expect a Jam here normally) , the first thing I think, in every position at the table is that I'm against KK+, and he hope to be called here. In BB, against 2 Jams with AKo is very difficult to fold but looking at your analysis I should consider it next time I'm in this situation

    Great video - I started playing much more aggressive as the chip leader on final tables, if you have shorties behind you, they can't get really get it in with less than 1010+ so it's a great spot to jam ATC.

    Hello Garreth, thanks for your amazing content,
    Do you use Malmuth Harville ICM model on HRC for final table analysis or do you keep using the "Multi Table ( (MTSNG/MTT)" 'ICM' model?
    Thanks a lot for your reply, keep up da good work

    • @MTTPokerSchool
      @MTTPokerSchool  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the MH ICM model for final tables and the MTSNG/MTT for 2+ tables left.

      This video was made quite a while ago now, before postflop abstractions in HRC were a thing. I would use Monte Carlo mode. Check out my latest tutorial here: th-cam.com/users/liveHiisSKbCv5w?feature=share

    The A7o j_peso non jam... I believe he was thinking that the two players with smaller stacks will be going through the blinds before him and would potentially bust before him netting him lots more than $200. This is my best guess. What are your thoughts?

    • @MTTPokerSchool
      @MTTPokerSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think that's reasonable. Of course that assumes that both players do bust. The HRC sim is simply showing the highest EV lines in that given moment given the current stack distribution and doesn't take into account future game (although you can do that too!). Great thoughts!

    Searched the whole internet to find out how you manage to get the $ev when you hover over the hand range in HRC with ICM calcs, so you're my last hope to find out how XD. I've updated to the latest version btw thanks in advance!

    IS there ICM when everyone has the sameness stack but there’s still a pay jump?

    • @MTTPokerSchool
      @MTTPokerSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question Tom, thanks for posting! For sure there's ICM if everyone has the same sized stack and there's a payjump. Let's say there are 9 players left and everyone has 10bb. In a Chip EV world with no ICM, the BTN can shove 42.7%, the SB can call 29.1% and the BB can call 35.1%. In an ICM world the BTN can shove wider (48.1%) because the SB (13.1%) and the BB (16.9%) now have to call much, much tighter. This is the effect of ICM.

    How do you figure Lena’s fold with AKo from the bb looks nitty? At best you’re flipping against 2 other players? With multiple stacks under 7bb, that would be icm suicide

    • @MTTPokerSchool

      Did you watch the video? It's not a nitty fold at all, it's a great fold. If you know Lena, you know he's definitely not a nit and that's why the video is titled like that. Apologies for any confusion or if you felt it misled you 😕

    Lol the half stack raise/fold is the new min raise. Why not just raise to 3BB? or 4 or 5? Why 6 it makes no sense to me. We already saw that only AK and TT+ are jamming on EP raises anyway. I bet you anything in 3 years every final table is going to be everyone limping in preflop and checking to river where ICM tells you to fold 2 pair to a min bet.

    • @MTTPokerSchool
      @MTTPokerSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. It's not that we give people that range, but ICM dictates that players in this example need to play a very tight range.

      Considering that BB calling range is KK+ , then his raising range should only be AA.. KK then is a standard fold for utg opener.. but noone is that balanced and aware of every situation to know that even QQ is a fold. Game is a bit looser than icm calc shows i guess.. or not?
