Here's Argus in action. Please excuse the breakfast crumbs. Note that I wasn't even out of the room before he started being naughty. The sounds you hear are him trying to move a barstool & then reaching & licking a pan. (Don't worry, He gets the tater tot in the end, after he gets down!)
Update: The collar is a vibrating collar. It feels like having a vibrating phone next to his neck and serves just to get his attention and remind him of the rules, since he's still young and impulsive. Many days the collar isn't even powered on. He's a very loved dog and is in fact napping on my bed as we speak, typical Vizsla :)
One day I hope someone will look at me the same way argus looks at tater tots
Argus is a Vizsla, and a smart one at that. His focus shows why they are such great hunting dogs and loving companions. As to his nails - they extend like a cats for traction. Love you Argus!
Aww, this is why I love Vizslas! Their little faces are so expressive and they look like tiny forlorn puppies when they're sad. (I have one, it's nearly impossible to not give in...)

Argus is a obviously a well-loved family pet with an owner who has a sense of humor and who cares enough about his well-being to invest in equipment that helps ensure his safety. (Electric collars have a vibrate mode too.) Thank you for sharing his goofy antics with the world!

Why do people on the internet throw the word "abuse" around like it's nothing? Go do a Google image search for "animal abuse." Yes he looks pitiful, but denying your dog food from the table is not abusive. She's training the dog that taking food from the table isn't okay. For those saying "give him the tater tot" or saying he's wearing a shock collar, read the description. Quit being hateful to a person you've never met over a situation you know nothing about.
After all that effort, I hope you gave him the tot, Mama!
Has no one ever seen a dog extend their nails? He doesn't need a trim, you all just need a biology lesson.
This beautiful dog is neither abused or starving! Anyone who has an ounce of experience with the breed knows that his nails are perfectly trimmed! And the vibration setting(which I would use on myself, because it's not painful) is a very useful training tool. I've got a very well fed Vizsla who also will rummage through the kitchen given the chance! It's in their nature to be mischievous - not because they are starving! I love this video, it is the personification of a day on the life of a V ❤️

I have two vizslas and that is their nails. Don't know why..but you trim and they are back like that right away. Beautiful dog.....
LOL Sweet Argus! We have seen these trials a thousand times with our Vizslas. Smartest fur babies on the planet! If all of these idiots were to spend one day with a Vizsla, they would never have any other furry companion. They aren't called "Velcro" dogs for nothing! (Please, don't tell Argus I used the word dog.) Vizslas think they are human, and sometimes I think they are, too. And as to the claws, Vizslas have "cat-like" feet. The retract their claws.

What makes a cute video is that you see the struggle and the pay off. This was pretty awefull. That plus the shock collar....jeez.
it is pretty terrible to put shock collars on dogs, i mean they should be free to run away and get hit by cars and such when ever they please.

I myself have a shock/tone collar on my dog. Tone, then shock. After a few times the shock isn't needed at all and a tone is all a dog needs to correct their behavior. It's conditioning. Also, you don't know these people, maybe their dog barks a lot and it's a bark collar to cut down on complaints from the neighbors? Who knows. There's a lot worse things people do to animals besides conditioning them with collars like this. Even the feeling of the collar on their neck will straighten up an unruly pup. Calm down folks.

I love the video and that dog is adorable. Sorry you're getting criticized so badly. Everyone has their own methods and opinions and there is no perfect owner. Rock on Argus, you are loved.
It's a vibration collar, for training. Even if it was a shock collar, they are hardly cruel, yes, I've tried one around my neck, they don't hurt, and I am not protected by fur. They do startle, period. As for his claws, don't assume, for all you know the dog may actually be used for hunting, which would make his claws pretty necessary, and if he isn't a hunting dog, it still doesn't matter, his claws are long, but not uncomfortably, or dangerously so, only actually bad if he habitually jumps up on people.
Naturally negative people are always going to find, or imagine something to be negative about.
What a cutie! I do kind of wish you would have filmed him getting the tot though. That "ARFFHHH" in the middle is priceless. My V Wrigley does the same thing when he is trying to get my attention.

So funny! Reminds me of my old dog (RIP), who would steal stuff off the counter. She even ate a whole pineapple upside down cake, and raw pizza dough. I see people hating on this, but it's really no difference between this, and those Kong's toys where you hide a treat, and they have to get it out. By the way, it's not a shock collar.

Apart from maybe trimming the dog's nails, why are people so abusive about this? It says in the description it's a vibrating collar, and the dog shouldn't be trying to get on the bench in the first place, not 'teasing'. There's always going to be food on a bench. Calm your tits people.
Este Tre As far as the dog is concerned, there's just food on the bench. The bench he is not allowed to be on. It's not teasing, the dog is being bad trying to get the food on the bench, whether there's a camera there or not.

And think of it this way: No camera, someone leaves food on the bench by accident. Dog smells it and tries to grab it. This is no different to setting it up. The owner probably got the idea because the dog did it once before. Compare this to something like the owner holding the food out in front of a hungry dog and refusing to give it to the dog and then laughing about it. Them difference is that the owner would usually give the dog the food in that situation when with the bench, the dog isn't allowed on it.
What is the point of life if we can't tease our dogs from time to time. Lord knows they do it right back.

***** Animals aren't people. If you want to be able to take them anywhere so that they can have fun, they have to be trained so they don't do something stupid and get hurt. If that takes a vibrating collar, then you do that. If it takes a shock collar, you do that. Animals aren't people. You can have the best trained one and it will still do something completely stupid and get hurt.
You must dominate and control your dog because it is too stupid to make it's own decisions. It is really too stupid to make it's own decisions. A smart dog will look at this relationship with it's master as a good thing. Things go better with daddy.

People really need to read the description before they comment. She clearly states that it's not a shock collar and only a vibration one. Also its a kitchen bench, there's always food on there. The dog has obviously done this before so she decided to get it on camera.
Argus is being better behaved than most Vizslas! Most would just jump on the counter and the tater tot would be gone.

Shock collars are ment to discipline, not abuse, My family HAD to get a shock collar for our little girl princess and it helped her cut down on bad habits, like stealing our stuff CONSTANTLY

Reminds me of our dog. She loves she's not allowed in the kitchen, but the very second she believes herself to be unobserved, she will sneak in there, looking for something good. Even when her bowl is full, or she has just eaten. :) Sneaky opportunists! ;)
