You’re right of course Terry but I don’t have stakes at the moment. Will add these when I have some though. Hope you and Mrs K are doing ok. Best wishes. Mags.
Good luck with the little butter bushes. I wonder if they'd benefit from a little cloche to kick start them while in the ground. I've not done mine yet - so much rain, wind and it's been very cold here so the plants have stopped growing, or slowed down big time. I use miscanthus for the chicken bedding and I remember in the old house the slugs used to criss-cross over to pick up spilt food. I removed food at night - they were even in the feeders! YUK! A friend has given me sheep wool - costs more to travel to the wool pick up point than what they get back in return for the shearings. They had spare so I've used that. They don't like lanolin apparently - makes a good mulch and weed suppressant. I've used it sparingly, trying nematodes, and I'm going to put duck feed into traps this year and make a sludge - it has brewers yeast in the pellets!
Hi Kerry. Good suggestion re the cloche. Thanks. I think a multi-pronged approach to slug defences is best. Hope it warms up soon to deter those. Ritters from coming out. Have a great week. Mags.

Hammer four stakes in around the structure, that will hold ot firm Mags.

What ever you do to stop it falling over, it will never work LOL Been there, seen it, bought the book 🤣🤣
Lol. Right, my challenge is to not let that happen. Reinforcements will be made 🥴
