Really like this drone, in the process of getting my part 107 and would like to get this as my first work drone. Thanks so much!
The obstacle avoidance saved the day when I was sitting on a bench and backing up the drone behind me for a fly over, not knowing there was a street lamp, and the drone stopped until I looked around and saw what was going on.
Captain Drone you are by far the very best most honest reviewer on TH-cam. After flying this Drone I was so happy for Autel. My Drone don’t land like that. It actually hovers over to the pad and yes there is a lot of firmware for the app Drone and Controller. As far as flying I still have that fear of a small camera drone that cost a lot. The price! Holy hell!!! After watching more, the camera is pretty darn awesome. The digital zoom as expected is rubbish anything over 3 or 4. That just the nature of the beast. Great review, thank you!
I believe the Nano begins at around $640 for the basic package. Unfortunately all drones going forward are just gonna be rather pricey due to the current world economy of increased costs for parts & labour.
I know! I need to check the price! I really want this drone now but it may bankrupt me to get ☝️ one lol 😂... just buying the dji mini 2 was a struggle!
@@dheller777 wow that’s pretty steep! But the Lyca camera 📸 that’s mounted on it and the better obstacle avoidance might be worth it for some people. I find that for obstacle avoidance when flying line of sight having the camera sensors pointing on the sides may be better. Sometimes when you are tracking someone on a bike at an angle for instance the biggest issue is you may hit a tree to the side. What you see ahead and behind the drone is easier to spot when looking directly at it.
Most complete and straightforward review on the Nano+ thus far. Judging by the comments and view count, others agree. Thanks again for yet another thorough review.
After getting some time flying this drone and trying out the features I'm really impressed actually. It's better than I expected after watching all the videos of people complaining about the speed and camera issues. I've concluded they are either having issues I'm not or seeing things that aren't there. This drone is awesome! Also, after flying in considerable wind I've had no issues with wind resistance. It was only about 18-20 mph wind but I don't feel comfortable flying in higher wind anyway and it did wonderful. The only issue I had was when connecting to different phones sometimes the gimbal wouldn't be controllable, but after a restart of the phone and the drone all was well. The pictures and video are amazing!! No jello issues at all and I am aware that the original version has a "problem" with the gimbal dampeners being installed in the wrong orientation, but it hasn't caused me an issue. I don't want to risk sending my drone back to be repaired for an issue that seems to be a non issue. Thanks for your real review and being honest about the drone. Love it!!
Usually, the people with small TH-cam channels are the ones who are inexperienced and complain about items that the company said they would improve on in future firmware updates. Whenever you watch a vid about a product you wish to buy, just check the size of the channel to see how legit the complaints are.
Holy cow man, the 4K video is amazing! Must be the bitrate and good dynamic range. I really wish there was a 60 fps option at 4K. Thanks for the thorough review. 👍
Had super bad experience with my Air 2s which I sold . The camera was good but the connections failed me many time. It was a time bomb and I'm not risking it
Thanks Cappy! I ordered a Nano+ yesterday from the Autel site. Your reviews helped me make the choice. I'll be vlogging my sidecar adventures with my Akita dog and this will compliment my 360 One X2s, Go2 and my GoPro. There are some beautiful landscapes on the North Short of Lake Superior and along the Mississippi River I hope to capture on our adventures. Keep up the good work! Lee in Minneapolis
Awesome camera, a few nice features, but that's about it. Was going to buy his drone but it can't handle cat2 and above wind... loses 40% of it's advertised speed flying into the wind for whatever mode you are in. If you live in an area where you have no wind you'll be fine... most people don't. Decided to wait for the Mini 3... hurry up DJI!!
Captain Drone knocking it out of the park again. Thank you for the very in-depth review and talking about the gimble issues when too cold...I actually had a question about that and you addressed it in the video. This will be my first non DJI GPS drone. But lets face it...when the Mini 3 comes out...I'll get that one as well.
Oh, I’ll be there with you ordering the mini 3 as well…. And the mini 3 flymore kit price will be crazy expensive since that is the new trend in quality drones.
Thank you for braving the extreme temperatures to do this review - I could just imagine how bleeping cold it was! I'm impressed with this drone, but I do have two questions, one minor and one major: 1) Can the controller's bracket expand enough to accommodate an iPad Air (approx. 170mm)? And 2) Do you know if Autel has any plans to enable FPV flying with this drone? That's becoming a big make/break factor for me these days, and I'm guessing some other folks would factor that in as well.
Yes! I couldn’t do it. We visited Canada 🇨🇦 in the winter one time and I wore 4 or 5 layers. We are so spoiled here in California when it comes to weather.
I've seen several reviews now. The camera is absolutely amazing....very nice thank you . Best I've seen in drone world.....can't wait to them in the market. Thank Captain
Great review Steve I always appreciate your thoroughness and answering some of the questions that have been brought up about this drone in particular already. Looking forward to more
The Autel Evo Nano+ is a really good drone with many pros, as expected. It has the best camera quality in mini drones, currently as of Mid March, 2022. That DJI Mini 2 and Autel Nano+ comparison is pretty good to show the difference between them but I am pretty sure that DJI Mini 3 will surpass all other mini drones' camera qualities! The things that I liked very much are the obstacle avoidance on this drone, as I like drones very much which have obstacle avoidance as to fly them freely in areas full of buildings. (It is necessarry to turn it on in India though.) I know that it only has sensors on its front, back and beneath, which is more than enough obstacle avoidance sensors for these mini drones. Hubsam Zino Mini Pro is also really good with a very long flight time but due to overheating, its camera doesn't show surroundings when it is on the ground, which is a huge con! The tiny fan present inside Nano+ is mind-blowing. Its really good to see a fan in such little drone. It is very stable and also has many features like quickshots, Hyperlapse, 16× zoom which is unbelievably a nice thing though not so clear, Panorama and also the high-detailed photos and videos. The controller is fantastic as I thought. But, it was going to be better if it had proper spaces to store the sticks and the phone connecting wire. Now, the RTH should be improved, even it is for cold temperatures as it may harm the drone's gimbal specially. I think that the SD card problem is also because of the low temperatures but that is not too good. If one is buying this drone, he should definitely take the nano+ as if money is being spent, why not get the better one. Now, TH-cam is preventing me from writing longer, this comment maybe it is too long lol. Let me add some more points. In the four colours, I prefer either white or gray as drones look the best in black, white or gray colours according to me. In the speed test, I think that it flew pretty slowly in sports mode at 35 kph only? Maybe because of low temperature. I personally reveived a max speed of 58.1 kph from my Mini 2 which is pretty fast. To be honest, I think that many people still prefer DJI Mini 2 than Autel evo nano+, as in many polls, it is shown that more than 70% people goes with Mini 2 and about 30% with nano+. Maybe because DJI is more reliable? Overall, I think that Autel Evo Nano+ is a good drone with plenty of features but it maybe not as good as the future DJI Mini 3 which is going to be released in late 2022 hopefully!
@bobobear cepara It is still of the best Nano drones out there. The Geofence system is not that bad, it just tells the about the best thing one may do while in a specific area. Though, In my country, things become worse... DJI Drones can't fly higher then 15 metres here, in spite of how much effort you put on the controls. I personally received a max of 18 metres height automatically, while in sports mode as I was flying at 55 kph+ and the drone's angle was highly tilted, and to prevent loss of height, the Mini 2 increases its height for safety reasons which is a good thing!
Great review. I may order one. The one thing that kept me from DJI camera drones for many years is the nanny software - NoFly nonsense. Leave it to users to fly responsibly. Fine those who don't. I knew about Autel for a long time, but wanted a < 250 g drone to avoid the license/reg nonsense as well. Only problem might be availability :-)
I haven't watched too many reviews in the past number of months, but with some of the new stuff that came out lately, I started to watch them again, and I must say, "hands - down", yours are still the best by a lot! You take everything into consideration, and they are very comprehensive! Thanks!
Thanks C D. This is the best review I have seen on the Nano +. Well researched and presented. You’ve done yourself proud. PS nice new into and graphic inserts.
Awesome review as always. Been waiting for this review since it was announced last year, just deciding if I want to get the Lite or the + version. You're right about this drone will just get better with future updates. Love the fact that this drone is already pretty damn good out of the box. And for beginners like me, this should be an awesome first drone. You're my go-to person for drones....keep up the good work Capt!
That is one full awesome review of the Nano+ Cap. I'm going to say EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!! Just like all the other subs. I appreciate you and your channel.
Outstanding review. I'm a professional photographer who has wanted to play with a drone for a while and this may have convince me this is a better choice than the DJI Mini 2 for a number of reasons, including the obstacle avoidance and camera capability. Thanks!
Thanks for the review. At $950 vs. $600 for the Mini 2 packages (US $), it should be better. Also, another reviewer weighed it and it was at 250grams. To dodge regulation it has to me under 250g. While it may actually be just under 250, if one adds a filter, which you will want in the sunlight with the F1.9 aperture, it will may be over 250g. Since I have a Mavic 2 Pro, the only reason I have the Mini 2 is that it is 238g and will remain under 250g even with a filter.
Don’t concern yourself with weight. When any company makes a drone and wishes to sell it in a country, the specs must be provided and registered with the countries transport agency. So if a drone is registered as 249 grams then that is what it is, regardless if the drone has dirt on the legs and it suddenly becomes over 250 grams. No authorities in any country walk around with weigh scales checking for a difference of one or two grams :-)
Did the reviewer used the properly calibrated scale? If not, I wouldn't consider such information significant. These cooking scales which are usually used by youtubers are not meant for precise measurement.
Amazing review, thanks I live in Alberta, Canada and I am happy to know I can fly this in the winter. I kept watching your video and realized you are in beautiful Ottawa.
Excellent review with information other reviews neglected. Thank you for the professional report. For me the missing waypoint feature is a big deal. Shooting photomosaics really benefits from an automated approach.
Hi This was one of your best drone review when you show before what you are planing to do nice going . We love your work and effort to bring us drone reviews. Thanks Captain
Best reviewer on TH-cam, always unbiased, clear, detailed. love this channel .This drone is awesome and wait until it tweaked, with all the features and then, some, incredible.
Thank you for enduring the cold and reviewing the Autel Nano drone. Living in North Dakota I know how it feels out there. The footage and picture quality side by side with the DJI really makes the diffrence noticable. Winter shots are always difficult and I was just blown away by the quality and clarity of the footage. Thank you for another great review.
Amazing review under -20C conditions, Captain. The camera looks pretty good. It would fly longer without these obstacle avoidance sensors, though, and its price is pretty steep. I look forward to your Lite+, review. Wishing all the best for the New Year, for you and your loved ones, from Montreal. Keep and fly safe.
Wow, this is by far the best mini drone you've reviewed on this channel. With a few more firmware updates, this could really make DJI sweat bullets. At the very least, I hope the DJI Mini 3 is more than just an incremental improvement over its predecessors. If I didn't already own the original Mavic Mini, I'd pull the trigger on this particular drone for sure. I'm looking forward to the EVO LIte review next. Thanks for what you do, Captain!
DJI is not and will not sweat bullets over anything Autel🤣 Autel drones are always a year or two behind DJI drones as Autel needs to see and reverse engineer what DJI does.
@@christianpesox Well at least Autel's offering in the sub-250 g range is quite decent in terms of features. Fimi and Hubsan's offerings aren't very polished compared to the old Mavic Mini except maybe for the tracking feature. At the very least, Autel is applying pressure on DJI to do better and if the Mini 3 is a huge upgrade over previous models I'd be more than happy to change my opinion. As it stands, DJi still has nothing to top the Skydio 2 lineup when it comes to pure tracking capability. If they don't release something that is superior in every way to their older models they could also lose the sub-250 g category to Autel.
I hope your getting payed well. Your videos are top notch. Your editing is awesome. Your dedicated to go out in absolute freezing cold weather…lol. All in a days work
Just a little FYI...there is a dummy port on the bottom of the controller for the other end of your cable and no the holes in the back are not meant for the sticks but it will not in any shape or form reck the sticks in doing so. I will bet my life on that because well I know things. lol You failed to mention some key things in the currently non functioning camera setting when you talked about P mode, M mode and S mode but fortunately Autel nailed it on its auto side which is great since we can't adjust some things manually. Some of us aren't having good results with obstacle avoidance in flight...it's like its seeing things that aren't there. A ghost maybe? I'm glad to see you aren't having the speed issues some of us have had either but your normal to sport mode seems to be out of whack. It was basically the same speed if I saw it correctly. Great Captain Drone style review though. You tend to skip current issues I find very important to mention but in skipping those your videos will stand up longer once they fix these things. No disrespect so don't take it that way or get offended in my comments. Bravo for everything you did cover though! My end statement is this drone isn't ready for the average consumer and it's buggier than we are seeing here based on my use and some other trusted well known youtubers. Just my opinion! Cheers
Yup, I saw that on Chads video, however when I placed my cable there I kept snagging it when going in and out of the carry bag, so I just wrap it as shown.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I purchased one with an angle on it because the antenna hits the current one which will wear out eventually as these cables are cheap.
I read comments quickly and did not notice this was one was from The QC guy! Thanks for the comments. I try to cover a thousand popular points in a short video so people come away with more knowledge than they began with. The video/photos on this drone are a step up from the competition even without the need for manual settings or compensation. I did notice that in pro mode I could change settings but nothing stuck. Since the drone was originally scheduled for a Feb release, then changed to end year due to demand, I’m confident Autel, just like DJI, will make it 99% perfect. You are also correct that I make my vids with honest longevity in mind. In other words if a drone has the potential for simple firmware fixes, then I mention it, but won’t harp on it since the following day all could be fixed. If it’s a hardware issue, than that is a different issue (unfixable and most be harped on).
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I respect that but even with my confidence in Autel and my love for their drones I try to warn a little more as a buyer beware because this one isn’t ready for the average or new user. They should wait till we get some updates and steer more towards the February time line. Again just my opinion…
@@QCGUY I think the DJI MAVIC 3 was the worst of the “launch early when drone is not ready”. That drone had less than 50% of features working at launch. Yet, since it was made by DJI, it received nothing but love at launch… go figure.
Another great video again captain. Thanks for all the work behind that.A little advice about the mini 2 not hovering still like the nano+...Do another compass calibration on the mini 2 and try again. Most of the time when the drone is doing the circles it need a calibration.
People should not compare the mini 2 with the autel nano plus because the price difference is huge! If you are planning to buy a drone that cost 799 like the autel nano plus i would go with the dji air 2 (very underrated ) unless having 250 grams is really important to you.
You did a great job reviewing this drone. The cold weather is a realistic environment to demonstrate how it will perform in real life conditions. Thanks.
I thought the camera quality was horrible but i forgot to change the quality because youtube always sets it to 480p, don’t forget to change quality guys
Oh, you’re not alone. Across the world people watch TH-cam vids on phones, tablets, computer displays, TVs, and each of those have different max resolutions and many are budget products with less than stellar displays so everyone sees something different and only 1% actually see the quality of the original video (those with 4K high end displays and fast internet bandwidth)
What an excellent review! I'm looking into buying my first drone, due to local regulations it needs to be sub 250 gram. Was first looking at the Mini 2, but just discovered this Autel and it's looking great so far! My only hesitation now is the likely upcoming launch of the Mini 3 rumored in April, which could also bring an improved camera and sensors / active tracking. Sounds like the Mini 3 may be very close to the Autel in performance, but probably less expensive. Or I might just say what the heck and try to order the Autel asap anyway..
Curious if you have had any serious issues with the nano plus yet? I had a fly away, and other youtubers are now reporting serious issues. Any updates?
Works perfectly fine. Also there are no fly always when it comes to drones. I say that from over 10 years of drone experience. In the old days when GPS in drones was a new thing, fly always happened now and then. Today, fly always are another way of say a newbie is flying a drone and crashed it and feels embarrassed and calls it a flyaway.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 totally disagree, I've been flying and building drones for 10 years, I had one with this drone (check my TH-cam channel, it was caught on CCTV lol) autel reviewed my logs and it was Infact firmware related. Now I'm trying to get them to return it
You've got me wanting to upgrade now. I originally bought a Mavic Mini 1 knowing it would be my learning experience. Disappointed in the still image quality. Then bought an EVO 1. Love it, but it is too darn big to carry with my when traveling for work or riding my bicycle. Considering this Nano for an upcoming vacation.
Bought the Nano+ and used it on a vacation. Got a chance to fly it off a skyscraper in Chicago, over the Bean. My biggest complaint is the size of the controller. Would have liked something that folded up more compactly, like the Evo1 controller. But they partially made up for that with the tiny multi charger.
Thanks CD, I have two motorcycle trips set for this year. Vancouver down the coast to California, cut through Nevada and into Moab. Then Vancouver across to Newfoundland up through Labrador and back. I bought a Mini 2 on your recommendation and am very happy with it, but it lacks any kind of active tracking which I really want. This Autel looks just about perfect except for the punishment my Mastercard would have to take. You have the best reviews as you actually suffer for your craft. Always appreciated, thanks
Mini 2 - year 2019 technology & launched in 2020 - limited features & fly zone restrictions. EVO Nano+ - year 2021 technology & launched in 2022 - modern features & no fly zone restrictions. Every two year old drone on the market has been reduced in price so if you are on a budget, buy the 2 year old drones (many are still perfectly good)
@@AshiqeRasool1 Please note that I am not here to convince you to buy anything. If you don't know what the difference is between a MINI drone and a large drone like the AIR 2S, then you might want to do research. Those types of drones are never compared. It's like saying I would like to compare a tiny car with two seats to a large pickup truck that can carry 4 people and lots of weight.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I think you are not getting my point. I personally think nano+ is a great new drone in its class but its shouldn't be compared with mini2 as there is a big price difference. Its can be compared with the normal nano version and in that I think mini 2 is still a winner...
did i miss any comment about the rather disappointing max. speed of this drone? 35km/h against the 57 km/h of the mavic mini 2. in my opinion this is the biggest flaw of this drone and you didn't mention any of that in your final thoughts, any reason for that?
In the video I said I don't do speed tests in arctic weather because the battery can't provide the juice, but I did it anyways so any results I received will not be the same as someone in warm weather.... I only did it because some viewers asked me to ahead of time.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 i understand, that’s obviously fine but even from the specsheet one can tell that this drone won’t perform much better at higher outside temperatures than what you experienced from your test. so, although you haven’t fully tested it yourself, i'd appreciate if you‘d have mentioned that more clearly in your thoughts about whether you'd recommend this one over a mini 2 or not..
@@chico3517 My video clearly shows that this drone is highly recommended over the very old Mini 2. Later this year DJI will release the Mini 3 which will be more expensive than the Nano. When that happens everyone will forget about the Mini 2 and there will be a hundred videos about Nano vs Mini 3, and that is all people will be talking about.
Could be wrong here but I feel like as budget drones get better and better. Flagship drones are becoming more expensive because they are trying to add more and more features. Great video I love it!!!!!
Loved my Mini 2 until it lost GPS signal a mere 20 feet away from me and flew away never to be seen again (DJI Refresh weasled out of their warranty, too ). Very partial to purchasing a new Autel....but this product still comes across as a bit half baked, but seriously considering taking a chance on this or the Lite. Thanks for posting. It does help in making a more informed decision.
My dji mini 2 crashed because of a random motor error. Crashed into a tree and hit the ground. It works fine but I don't trust it. It also has no features. I'm looking at the nano or parrot anafi to buy later this year.
Nice review. But I'll never buy one. Think there pricing is way out of line. Another 2 to 3 months DJI will tweek mini 3 with all of the Nano specs and then sum, and add another $50.00 to the price tag and it'll still be far less in price and better technology than the Nano. Just my opinion. Was going to get the Nano but not at there asking price
Only in my tests due to arctic temps. The drone appears to fly faster but the speed display doesn’t increase much. Watch reviews in warm weather. Probably something Autel will tweak in future firmware updates since the Autel EVO drones are known to have very fast Sport modes.
I always enjoy your videos and reviews. I hope you get the Autel Evo Lite + to test out because that will probably replace my Evo 1 drone. Keep up the great work and great reviews!

And the mini 3 flymore kit price will be crazy expensive since that is the new trend in quality drones.
any idea when the mini 3 is coming out?
@@Guschatts Scheduled for Fall release. DJI could of course push the release sooner, as early as April.
Beside this excellent review (as always) I have to say, I really like the music. Never heard of Bertysolo untill now. Thanks! Keep it up Steve.
No to the iPad. You’d have to use an iPad holder as we do with the DJI Mini drones.
As for future FPV… no idea.
Congratulations, that was a very thorough review that everyone was looking for.
The Nano+ camera performance is super impressive.
Thank you!
Looked forward for your review. Ordering Nano+ now. Thanks a lot in deed!
Great review Steve I always appreciate your thoroughness and answering some of the questions that have been brought up about this drone in particular already. Looking forward to more
Very good video and you explain a lot better
The Autel Evo Nano+ is a really good drone with many pros, as expected.
It has the best camera quality in mini drones, currently as of Mid March, 2022.
That DJI Mini 2 and Autel Nano+ comparison is pretty good to show the difference between them but I am pretty sure that DJI Mini 3 will surpass all other mini drones' camera qualities!
The things that I liked very much are the obstacle avoidance on this drone, as I like drones very much which have obstacle avoidance as to fly them freely in areas full of buildings. (It is necessarry to turn it on in India though.)
I know that it only has sensors on its front, back and beneath, which is more than enough obstacle avoidance sensors for these mini drones.
@bobobear cepara Oh...
Anyways, that is a quite interesting yet frustrating feature that I didn't knew about though!
I just purchased this drone and can't wait to fly it!
Thanks, AABH
Great review. I may order one. The one thing that kept me from DJI camera drones for many years is the nanny software - NoFly nonsense. Leave it to users to fly responsibly. Fine those who don't. I knew about Autel for a long time, but wanted a < 250 g drone to avoid the license/reg nonsense as well. Only problem might be availability :-)
Man that's exactly what I was thinking... how is this for price and parts though?
Oh man.... even the mini 2 is cheaper.... its always something
DJI is a more polished product and now the mini 3 pro is king of tech in the mini drone world
I haven't watched too many reviews in the past number of months, but with some of the new stuff that came out lately, I started to watch them again, and I must say, "hands - down", yours are still the best by a lot! You take everything into consideration, and they are very comprehensive! Thanks!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Thanks C D. This is the best review I have seen on the Nano +. Well researched and presented. You’ve done yourself proud. PS nice new into and graphic inserts.
I appreciate that!
An excellent review.......keep warm!
Thanks! Much appreciated.
That is one full awesome review of the Nano+ Cap. I'm going to say EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!!! Just like all the other subs. I appreciate you and your channel.
Much appreciated!
Outstanding review. I'm a professional photographer who has wanted to play with a drone for a while and this may have convince me this is a better choice than the DJI Mini 2 for a number of reasons, including the obstacle avoidance and camera capability. Thanks!
Amazing captain sir. Enjoyed watching again it's like I am there excited to fly the drone. Thank you for sharing also your intro nice too.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 until you hurt someone then the insurance company will say its overweight very disappointed
Did the reviewer used the properly calibrated scale? If not, I wouldn't consider such information significant. These cooking scales which are usually used by youtubers are not meant for precise measurement.
@@droneshakk
....what insurance company? Don't hurt anyone LOL
The police aren't going to have a pair of scales in your local park.
Amazing review,thanks
I live in Alberta, Canada and I am happy to know I can fly this in the winter.
I kept watching your video and realized you are in beautiful Ottawa.
Hey western neighbour! Looking forward to spring.
Thank you
Best reviewer on TH-cam, always unbiased, clear, detailed. love this channel .This drone is awesome and wait until it tweaked, with all the features and then, some, incredible.
Gonna get one DA? I follow you and would be interested to see what your night skills could do with this or the Lite
@@andrewdrone I'm thinking about, lol, either this or a lite plus, I like longer flight time. and thanks for your support.
I greatly appreciate the depth of your reviews.
Thank you!
What bothers me is that, for a latest drone, the Nano Plus' got shorter dynamic range compared to other drones of this category.
Nano+ has the highest dynamic range of all the mini drones.
I agree with Flight Riot Cap you are the Best
Thank you for enduring the cold and reviewing the Autel Nano drone. Living in North Dakota I know how it feels out there. The footage and picture quality side by side with the DJI really makes the diffrence noticable. Winter shots are always difficult and I was just blown away by the quality and clarity of the footage. Thank you for another great review.
Bought this for €330 and I’m not disappointed. Compared to my previous drone dji spark this is a good drone to fly.
Awesome review. Can't wait for my Nano+ to arrive. Thanks for bearing the cold and posting another in depth review.👍
Been a drone pilot for 2+ years. First time seeing your videos. Great review! Subscribed, liked, and obviously commented. Thanks for a great video!
Welcome to the channel!
The review that everyone has been waiting for. Great job as always captain! 👍🏻👍🏻

@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Stay warm Steve! 😊
I hope your getting payed well. Your videos are top notch. Your editing is awesome. Your dedicated to go out in absolute freezing cold weather…lol. All in a days work
I appreciate that! No pay, just enjoyment.
Just a little FYI...there is a dummy port on the bottom of the controller for the other end of your cable and no the holes in the back are not meant for the sticks but it will not in any shape or form reck the sticks in doing so. I will bet my life on that because well I know things. lol
You failed to mention some key things in the currently non functioning camera setting when you talked about P mode, M mode and S mode but fortunately Autel nailed it on its auto side which is great since we can't adjust some things manually.
They definitely should be compared that way you know what you're getting extra when you spend that extra money
You did a great job reviewing this drone. The cold weather is a realistic environment to demonstrate how it will perform in real life conditions. Thanks.
I thought the camera quality was horrible but i forgot to change the quality because youtube always sets it to 480p, don’t forget to change quality guys
Thanks for that hint, now it looks very nice!!!

This is probably your best and most thorough review.
DJI Mavic 3 > Autel Evo II
Great to see something so small taking so great photos and videos!
It will be better or DJI won’t release it.
Geofencing will hold DJI back.
It has to be really good and affordable or it wont be anything special like the mini 2 os
hi steve another perfect review , you seem to cram it all in so quick but its easy to follow and understand ,all the best ray
Thanks Ray
Would love to see review of nano+ vs Nano, how much better is the camera on the + , is it worth the money for a hobby user.
I asked Autel if they could provide a Nano so that I could show the camera. We’ll see.
Well Cap it finally came today in the mail and i was most elated. Thx again to you and ur wife. 🇯🇲 is happy
Stickers arrived? Wow, that took sometime to get to their destination.
Now I'm trying to get them to return it
first of all, wow! I love the new intro. And second, as always, your review is perfect.
Glad you like it!
Seeing a lot of noise in the video where there are lots of straight lines or rough patterning where it starts to shimmer.
Please double check your home internet bandwidth & resolution settings. Video can be streamed at 4K if you own such a device for viewing.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 That got it! Thanks!
Still loving my Mavic air 2, after upgrading from the mini 2. Nothing to see here...
Very comprehensive assessment so can hardly wait- been paid for and on order since September!
Thanks for your video, Captine. If you had to choose between Nano+ and Mini2, which would you choose? :)
Serious? Did you watch the video? If not watch it again.
I agree, you are the best reviewer of drones. Thank you so much!
Wow, thanks!
Almost $1,000.00. Yes, it ought to beat the mini2.
Hands down, no brainer.
The evo nano should be compared to the mini 2 not the nano plus. The nano is a few hundred cheaper than the plus
This great little drone is $1499 compare it to dji 2s $1299
Thanks CD, I have two motorcycle trips set for this year. Vancouver down the coast to California, cut through Nevada and into Moab. Then Vancouver across to Newfoundland up through Labrador and back. I bought a Mini 2 on your recommendation and am very happy with it, but it lacks any kind of active tracking which I really want. This Autel looks just about perfect except for the punishment my Mastercard would have to take. You have the best reviews as you actually suffer for your craft. Always appreciated, thanks
Wishing you great riding weather in 2022.
What do u say about the price difference between mini 2 and nano+??
Mini 2 - year 2019 technology & launched in 2020 - limited features & fly zone restrictions.
EVO Nano+ - year 2021 technology & launched in 2022 - modern features & no fly zone restrictions.
Every two year old drone on the market has been reduced in price so if you are on a budget, buy the 2 year old drones (many are still perfectly good)
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 why not buy air 2s with a bigger sensor and still a small form factor for the price???
I love your reviews. Great reviews Captain!
did i miss any comment about the rather disappointing max. speed of this drone?
Wonderful video ,a fresh new look at the Autel Nano + drone.
I can’t wait until you do a review on the Autel Evo Lite+ drone. Mite even be better!
do lite + and dji air2s comparison
Yes, those two drones are in the same category.
Could be wrong here but I feel like as budget drones get better and better. Flagship drones are becoming more expensive because they are trying to add more and more features. Great video I love it!!!!!
The world economy took a dump and now technology items like drones are all going up in price due to part shortages, labour costs, overhead costs.
Happened to my phantom 3 pro. Luckily hit a tree so found it. Can't believe after all these years they still have no safety for bad gps.
My dji mini 2 crashed because of a random motor error. Crashed into a tree and hit the ground. It works fine but I don't trust it. It also has no features. I'm looking at the nano or parrot anafi to buy later this year.
The best review I have seen on the Nano plus sort of between the mini 2 and the Air 2s
Thanks Steve for this fantastic review that I was waiting for.
It’s more expensive than the mini 2 though
Great video!
Good thing its not freezing here...
So flying the drone in Standard and Sport mode the speed is the same. That stinks 😞
Only in my tests due to arctic temps. The drone appears to fly faster but the speed display doesn’t increase much. Watch reviews in warm weather. Probably something Autel will tweak in future firmware updates since the Autel EVO drones are known to have very fast Sport modes.
A Happy and Prosperous New Year to You and Your Family Captain , Have a great time .
