Question: I'm curious--how can the leaders of that Church claim they have 'new light' where there was never any light in them to begin with? Please see Isaiah 8:20. Does not Satan transform himself to look like an angel of 'light'? What 'light' do the leaders of that church really receive? They can't be receiving true light from the Father....especially when they advocate a false name that, at it's very nature, curses the Father: 'Jehovah' based on the hebrew suffix 'hovah'--a feminine noun meaning 'ruin, mischief'. The suffix 'hovah' is another form of 'havvah', another feminine noun meaning, 'perverseness, naughtiness, very wickedness.' Jehovah is a false, hybrid name that didn't even exist until the 16th Century. According to King David, he wrote at Psalms 16:4 that worship/calling upon the names of false gods is the equivalent to taking a drink offering of blood...see also Exodus 23:13 and Joshua 23:7. I think it's pretty clear the 'light' leaders from that church are really receiving.

Hi All, This was an excellent satirical look at New Light, Coincidentally I have raised this question to Matt Gardiner numerous times regarding New Light. No meaningful response from Matt. I would be happy for all to ask this same question toWitnesses in these comments. Matt Gardner has eluded this one question. " If old light is replaced by new light, please explain where exactly that new light came from. Please provide the hierarchal structure including all links in the chain. Is the new light just emanating from some men (Man-Made) in your organisation and is fed to everyone & therefore just the opinions of Men. ? Or does it come directly from Jehovah, then to Jesus, then to the Holy Spirit, then to Angels, who then give it to the Governing Body and then to the Elders and then to the Congregation ? What is the original source of this new light and please list how many beings and their identity it must travel through before it gets to the average JW." Matt, like other in the Organisation is sincere and has been polite, but avoiding principal doctrines like this, demonstrates he and the Witnesses cannot admit the origin of New Light.
Hi Annie. Jeffrey Winder provides all the detailed steps at the annual meeting. It's a complete admission (without actually admitting it) that they are not guided by Jehovah. You can find clips of that speech at th-cam.com/video/Wl7O2gfirYE/w-d-xo.html Essentially, he talks about what might trigger the process. He mentions things like a GB member having a question, world events, etc. But he never says "Jehovah tells us..." If the GB decides to take up the issue, they send it to the research department who comb through all their old publications to see what they've said about it previously. Then they might include some Bible verses. Finally, they make their recommendations to the GB. The GB then evaluates the recommendations of the research department and "prayerfully" debates what to do. If they were getting the guidance from Jehovah to change something, it seems like the process would be very much different. Jehovah tells them what to change, and they change it. When did the Bible ever record that God instructed someone to do something, and that someone said "We'll get the research team working on that right away, and let you know what we decide"? Mr. Winder just knocked over their own house of cards.

The “new/old light” comes from their leaders misinterpretation of a scripture in proverbs. They’ve openly admitted that they aren’t inspired or have the Holy Spirit/ God guiding them(but this isn’t anything new). Even in this annual meetings they’ve said it. It’s kinda hard to look into, but if you ever did, you’d notice that “new light” comes about when a new set of governing body members enter the fray. Sorry for the long reply. Hope this helps

Do you have a video explaining if Adam & Eve were originally created as Mortals or Immortals? I ask this because I noticed that in Gen 3:22,24 it talks (a little bit) about how God expelled them out the garden not only because they ate “forbidden fruit”, but also to prevent them from eating from the “Tree of Life”. Thank You Evan for the kind response. I have written to Matt Gardiner numerous times requesting a simple response to an argument my father (a Science Teacher) devised concerning the origin of New Light. Matt claims to be a Gilead Graduate, but he seems terrified to confess the origin of this New Light. He has refused after several requests to even acknowledge my questions. This is a clear indicator my father's argument is having a desired effect and seems to have neutralised Matt. I will be pursuing Matt on this, if you were in a position to help sometime in the future, to ask Matt where this New Light is coming from, it would be appreciated. Everything Matt understands is from this Light, as my father said "like the origin of the universe, you must get the respondent to advise the origin of this Light" Thank you Evan. @@anniehardy6474 Here's the thing, Annie. I don't need to know where Matt thinks the new light is coming from. We have that from Mr. Winder and Mr. Splane already. This has been pretty momentous news, and I'm sure that individual JWs will have some trouble assimilating it. It may have really shaken their understanding of where the new light originates or even whether it's legitimate. Remember that you're not just debating the answer to a question. You're challenging Matt's entire belief system, and by extension his entire sense of self since that has always been defined for him by the organization. Just because he hasn't answered your question doesn't mean he didn't hear it, but it also shouldn't be construed as indicating that he has been "neutralized". My advice would be to let him come to terms with it, and don't badger him about it. Remember, our purpose isn't to be right, but to be salt and light.

In the recent annual meeting, Splane clearly and repeatedly said that they have made pronouncements about what would happen to those who died in the flood or at Sodom, and said "But we don't know." He's clearly admitting that their positions on such things were the result of their own musings and not based on guidance from Jehovah. Given that they clearly didn't have divine guidance, and "didn't know" if what they were saying was true, whose desires do you suppose THEY were following, DC? Perhaps you should look first at your own organization.

It is quite obvious that JWs are the ones who are awake spiritually. That is why new understanding come their way. They can't be receiving true light from the Father....especially when they advocate a false name that, at it's very nature, curses the Father: 'Jehovah' based on the hebrew suffix 'hovah'--a feminine noun meaning 'ruin, mischief'. The suffix 'hovah' is another form of 'havvah', another feminine noun meaning, 'perverseness, naughtiness, very wickedness.'
Jehovah is a false, hybrid name that didn't even exist until the 16th Century. According to King David, he wrote at Psalms 16:4 that worship/calling upon the names of false gods is the equivalent to taking a drink offering of blood...see also Exodus 23:13 and Joshua 23:7. I think it's pretty clear the 'light' leaders from that church are really receiving.

Matt, like other in the Organisation is sincere and has been polite, but avoiding principal doctrines like this, demonstrates he and the Witnesses cannot admit the origin of New Light.
Hi Annie. Jeffrey Winder provides all the detailed steps at the annual meeting. It's a complete admission (without actually admitting it) that they are not guided by Jehovah. You can find clips of that speech at th-cam.com/video/Wl7O2gfirYE/w-d-xo.html
Essentially, he talks about what might trigger the process. He mentions things like a GB member having a question, world events, etc. But he never says "Jehovah tells us..." If the GB decides to take up the issue, they send it to the research department who comb through all their old publications to see what they've said about it previously. Then they might include some Bible verses. Finally, they make their recommendations to the GB. The GB then evaluates the recommendations of the research department and "prayerfully" debates what to do.
If they were getting the guidance from Jehovah to change something, it seems like the process would be very much different. Jehovah tells them what to change, and they change it. When did the Bible ever record that God instructed someone to do something, and that someone said "We'll get the research team working on that right away, and let you know what we decide"? Mr. Winder just knocked over their own house of cards.

The “new/old light” comes from their leaders misinterpretation of a scripture in proverbs.
They’ve openly admitted that they aren’t inspired or have the Holy Spirit/ God guiding them(but this isn’t anything new). Even in this annual meetings they’ve said it.
It’s kinda hard to look into, but if you ever did, you’d notice that “new light” comes about when a new set of governing body members enter the fray.

Thank You Evan for the kind response. I have written to Matt Gardiner numerous times requesting a simple response to an argument my father (a Science Teacher) devised concerning the origin of New Light.
Matt claims to be a Gilead Graduate, but he seems terrified to confess the origin of this New Light. He has refused after several requests to even acknowledge my questions.
This is a clear indicator my father's argument is having a desired effect and seems to have neutralised Matt.
I will be pursuing Matt on this, if you were in a position to help sometime in the future, to ask Matt where this New Light is coming from, it would be appreciated.
Everything Matt understands is from this Light, as my father said "like the origin of the universe, you must get the respondent to advise the origin of this Light"

@@anniehardy6474 Here's the thing, Annie. I don't need to know where Matt thinks the new light is coming from. We have that from Mr. Winder and Mr. Splane already. This has been pretty momentous news, and I'm sure that individual JWs will have some trouble assimilating it. It may have really shaken their understanding of where the new light originates or even whether it's legitimate. Remember that you're not just debating the answer to a question. You're challenging Matt's entire belief system, and by extension his entire sense of self since that has always been defined for him by the organization. Just because he hasn't answered your question doesn't mean he didn't hear it, but it also shouldn't be construed as indicating that he has been "neutralized". My advice would be to let him come to terms with it, and don't badger him about it. Remember, our purpose isn't to be right, but to be salt and light.

In the recent annual meeting, Splane clearly and repeatedly said that they have made pronouncements about what would happen to those who died in the flood or at Sodom, and said "But we don't know." He's clearly admitting that their positions on such things were the result of their own musings and not based on guidance from Jehovah. Given that they clearly didn't have divine guidance, and "didn't know" if what they were saying was true, whose desires do you suppose THEY were following, DC? 3) Is Jesus responsible for the 1925 and the 1941 and 1975 Armageddon dates ?
4) Is the GB or the Watchtower a prophet or have they ever been a prophet ?

No comments on the video, Matt? Exactly where is he distorting the right ways of Jehovah? Or is your comment intended to address his larger body of work? As far as Acts 13:10 is concerned, I could just as easily say that the GB exhibits that behavior. After all, they even mistranslated the verse you used.
@@evanwindom3265 Obviously I'm referring to "his larger body of work" as you put it. The video was a parody. There were no real doctrinal arguments to dispute. Again, obviously, this is a momentous change for witnesses, and in fact for the whole world, as this shows we are moving closer to the end. Unfortunately, the fact that some see it as a joke reminds me very much of the days of Noah. "and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away,.." (Matthew 24:39)
@@mattgardiner614 Of course we're moving closer to the end. Time isn't running backwards. To me, the changes aren't what is momentous -- what you all require of each other is up to you. What strikes me is how Splane finally admitted that some of their doctrinal stances on things like Sodom are just their whims. They DON'T KNOW, and he admitted that. If they don't know, they're not getting that information from Jehovah -- they can't be. And Winder further exposed the lies about being "the channel" when he described the process the GB uses for making decisions about new light. If they were hearing from God, they'd merely relay that information, not farm out a bunch of research to underlings and then debate over the recommendations. His remarks clearly show that the GB bases its decisions on the thoughts of men, not on guidance from God. I commend you for your sense of loyalty, Matt, if not your critical thinking skills.

Is the new light just emanating from some men (Man-Made) in your organisation and is fed to everyone & therefore just the opinions of Men. ?
Or does it come directly from Jehovah, then to Jesus, then to the Holy Spirit, then to Angels, who then give it to the Governing Body and then to the Elders and then to the Congregation ?
What is the original source of this new light and please list how many beings and their identity it must travel through before it gets to the average JW. Thank you.
I would also appreciate Evan's wisdom and Evan's comments on this matter. I believe Matt you are sincere, but avoiding my question repeatedly on this principal doctrine is worrisome.
Hi Matt. The verse you quoted is a mistranslation (Matt 24:39) and the interpretation of the passage was changed in the recent Annual meeting.
