Kemba Walker - Superb Separation (Sharpshooter) 15/16

Kemba Walker should probably be an all-star this season. As arguably the focal point of the offense last year, Walker was able to lead the Hornets to their best season since returning as an NBA franchise in 2004. A 48-34 record was the third best record in the East, but due to a FOUR WAY tie and various tie-breakers, they entered the playoffs as the 6th seed. Last year, Kemba averaged a career-best 20.9 points per game (17th best in the league, ahead of CJ McCollum and Brook Lopez, and just behind all-stars like Kawhi Leonard and Jimmy Butler), and upped his production to 22.7 points per game through 7 games in the postseason. Everyone should know how crafty Kemba can be, but the manner with which he does it still leaves defenders dizzy.
Drag dribbles, step backs, pullbacks, reverse pivots, Kemba’s got an astonishing arsenal that he uses to create space to get off his silky smooth shot. I wanted to focus on how he generates just enough room to get his jumper off, with a video of his finishing to follow. It’s pretty, and people know he’s probably going to go to the signature stepback, but he’s able to get the defense leaning, and decelerates so quickly that there’s next to nothing anyone can do.
