He didn’t like the accuracy, attributing that, “possibly” to his “big old bear paws”… My hands are huge, I’m a double distinguished marksman, long range NRA certified High Master, and for the first time in 28 years… I have a new, hands down, absolute FAVORITE 9mm handgun. Mine (Hellcat Pro) is stupid f’ng SCARY accurate!!! Extremely compatible with my shooting style. To his credit, he admitted to possible “shooter bias”. All boils down to what gels with your “vibe” as he also admitted. If YOU try it, and like it, buy it. You will not regret it.

I want to go with the Sig, but the highlighted u-notch rear sight on the Hellcat makes it so much easier to aim quickly. I've just always had a problem focusing with blacked out or 2 dot rear sights. The hellcat overcomes that issue with the highlighted u-notch rear. A person can adapt to a heavy and long trigger pull, but if they can't focus when they aim, the system is useless. I'm thanking Springfield for helping me acquire my target quicker and easier.

Very interesting. My experience with the Hellcat Pro was pretty much exactly opposite what you've experienced. I tested a number of carry guns like the P365, Equalizer, 43X, and I easily shot the Hellcat Pro best of all. I'll grant ya that the trigger ain't great and I felt it was snappier than the others, but in my hands, the Hellcat did absolutely awesome. Interesting, guess it goes to show ya how personal a choice it is to pick a handgun.

I have more of a problem holding on 9mm recoil management than I did racking this one. So, if a gal doesn't have the strength or the gun is too hard to rack, it might be too much to hold during recoil - my experience - good luck!

I absolutely love my Hellcat Pro. Having said that, I wholeheartedly agree that the trigger leaves a lot to be designed. Thankfully they are now a few companies out there making some decent trigger tips then I will be adding to my Hellcat Pro. I threw on a tlr7 sub and a 407k and it shoots great. I think the little bit of extra added weight from the light out front mitigates the muzzle flip a little bit. But I'm really anxious to get that powder River precision trigger kit installed.

Personally, I carry a P365x or a glock 43x BUT that Hellcat Pro I shot was excellent, EXCEPT the trigger could be about 1lb lighter. My friend has one, it has never jammed on factory or reloads. I really like it being thin so it carries real well. The stippling is better than any factory glock out there. The one my friend has gun is accurate enough. I’ve had my Hellcat Pro for 6 months now. I’ve got around 1,500 rounds through it so far. No malfunctions yet. I’ve been carrying it every single day since I got my holster. The G2C is one of those guns that you can't say are bad. Experts, new users all agree it's just decent and does the job. Are there better, yes, but bang for buck and under $300 at pawn stores, can't beat it. I've daily carried one for a year with an in waist holster, and being a skinny guy, can't tell. Put on optic on it and flashlight on it for fun, no complaints, great little gun, especially if she already liked how it fit

An alternate view. I’ve tried glocks and sigs and don’t like them at all. The hellcat pro fits great in my hands and shoots well. I also really like the sights. Trigger, a little mushy but not terrible. Certainly not a CZ p10 trigger or aftermarket trigger. It’s the first carry gun I’ve owned that I sometimes forget I’m carrying it. A friend of mine talked me into buying the CZ TP9 Sub Compact, It shot well but it was cumbersome to carry, very thick slide with ambidextrous slide locks/releases also snagged up in the holster. I traded it in for the Hellcat FDE which I wanted to buy when it first came out but I didn't want to spend what the dealer was asking for it. I loved how the Hellcat fit in my hands, just perfect! Close to the Taurus TX22. When my friend visited from out of town, he checked out the Hellcat and he said he was going to try and trade in his Canik. He has the Hellcat now.

    While I understand that Springfield entered the compact market with the Hellcat Pro, I think they had done that indirectly with the RDP. The RDP in my opinion is the better option of the two because;
    1. It's 3.8 with the comp.
    2. Can be reduced to 3.1-3 if you remove the comp and cap it
    3. Threaded barrel (for those of us that have love for the suppressor)
    4. Can provide the same 15 round capacity with the new mags, which also help reduce recoil
I own the Hellcat, the RDP and have shot the Pro, and I'd have to settle on the RDP - flexibility along with better accuracy (for me personally). Between the comp and the extended mag grip on the 15, the recoil is still there, but groups are much better and follow up speed with accuracy is quite effective.
Great video and love the honesty/reviews - keep up the great work! One of my favorite channels for gun reviews without all the political BS and vendor fanfare.

Bought one last weekend. Note for those looking to buy hellcat or the Pro, Springfield has the gear up promo going so you get 3 additional factory mags and a range bag at no additional cost. Takes like 8 weeks for them to ship the promo goods but hey, its free. I like the grip size and ergonomics despite my XXL glove size. Obviuosly, the overall size considering the capacity is great as well. It is snappy but let's be honest, splitting hairs there. If your are buying a micro or microish 9mm it's time get over its like shooting a .40 cal. Nobody had issues with a .40 cal when it was all the rage. Generalizing there of course. Okay, jumping off my soap box. The trigger was a big change for me as i have been carrying Ruger SR9 for years. The trigger on that thing is insanely good and i am glad it has a thumb safety for how light the pull is. Honestly, it was between the Pro and the Shield Plus. For what ever reason the Pro just felt better in my hand. Also the cool factor weighed in for me a bit as I like the look of the Pro more. Like anything else, train with it and things will fall into place. Definitely looking forward to training up with the Pro to make it my everyday carry. Really enjoy your reviews. Not at all a professional, but tried out the Hellcat OSP and Hellcat Pro while at the range. Stacked them up against my mainstay, the Canik TP9 Elite SC, an M&P Shield, and Taurus G3C.
Annnd...despite actively wanting to like the things, since they look good and are way slimmer than the SC:
    The Cats came in last.
The OSP was surprisingly accurate. Nailed my first few shots. Then promptly set it down. These things are snappy AF. Like, unpleasant. Even the Pro, which I flat out didn't understand. Shield was a good deal less so, but for some reason, was harder to get shots where I was aiming.
My Canik and the Taurus were a hell of a lot more workable. YMMV, obviously.

Nobody will probably see this comment but from my experience carrying the hellcat pro, it's extremely accurate, dead reliable, is very light and carries very comfortably. The trigger on mine is about 5.5lbs which is perfect for a concealed carry but apex makes a lighter trigger if you'd rather have that. I only have one issue with the Pro, it's quite snappy and has a lot of muzzle flip. Probably because of how light it is, but even with a full grip it's quite snappy and definitely needs some practice if you want to slam follow-up shots on top of eachother, you really have to focus on grip and get high up on that sucker to manage it. I got my mom a 43x and after shooting the Pro for a while the 43x felt like a damn laser beam, so it'll definitely make you a better shooter if you can tame the Pro. I added some talon grip tape to the front of the trigger guard and it helped a lot with my grip. But overall I love this gun and it's very nice to carry.

I purchased HC Pro two months ago. Right out of the box it shoots slightly to the left the further you aim starting at 7yards and farther. At first I thought it was my trigger pull that was the issue. But then I used a gun rest to have consistent aim. After taking a good amount of shots, taking my time, it consistently shot slightly left. What was the worse part was the inconsistency on the vertical spectrum. You could aim it at the same spot every time and the shoots would vary up and down the target. I was shooting 115 Grain Blazer Brass. I read up somewhere that the potential issue could be the slide does not fully move back in fire ready position. It slightly sticks out on the back and that causes the barrel to slight aim up.

Love this gun. Replaced my G19.
Looks like you really don’t like Springfields.
Don’t know anyone having performance problems with this gun.

After shooting two of my friends' Hellcats, I purchase a Hellcat OSP. It fits my medium sized hands well and shoots incredibly accurate and to point of aim out of the box. I also purchased the Springfield optional 15 round magazine which makes the height 4.78" as compared to the Hellcat Pro 4.8". Yes the barrel is shorter, but the grip is nearly identical with the 15 rounder. For deep concealment, I have the ability to use the 11 round magazine with the flat base plate, which drops the height to 4.0". I also upgraded the trigger with the M*Carbo setup. This is a dramatic trigger improvement. GIK patreon

Just got back from the local range. They didnt have a hellcat to rent. I did shoot a p365xl and shield plus. Both didnt feel good in my hand. The p365xl left a ringing sensation on my trigger finger and palm. Same with my brother. They did have a hellcat pro for sale. I didnt get to shoot it but it feels way better in my hand than the p365xl and shield plus.

Only bought my hellcat pro because it was 250$ at a local shop but it is my every day carry now. It’s one of the guns i trust to function like i do my 870 rem.

The P365’s trigger is forward in the trigger guard, and stops roughly half way. The Hellcat’s trigger travels to the rear of the trigger guard. A longer pull, obviously, can hamper accuracy, but I also think that a very short trigger-reach causes people with large hands and/or long fingers to pull shots. I love the trigger on the P365XL. The way it stops (physically in the middle of the trigger guard) reminds me of the VP9, and I’m very accurate with both pistols.

I am with you 100%. They keep trying to manufacture guns that fit people with short trigger reach, causing your finger to wrap around the trigger when the trigger breaks so far back. People with large hands get the short end of the stick. Hickok 45 talks about that, and made me aware of it. I love the triggers on the P-365s, mostly the flat triggers. They stop at a vertical point, in middle of trigger guard and forward of the grip.

You shouldn’t slap the trigger either way, for accuracy stage the trigger then stay in the wall with the reset.

I carried the original Hellcat for a year and a half. The ease of concealment was not worth how unpleasant it was to shoot. I got rid of it for a 4" Shield Plus and I haven't looked back.

One of the best micro compact weapons I have ever shot...then they made the Pro...easily the best recommendation...and it takes 2 clips to learn how it fires...the Pro is so stellar

Hellcats are awesome, I got the regular one and I carry it with the 15rd mag pretty much everywhere unless I feel like carrying my g19.
    Awesome gun with sick sights.

I purchased a Hellcat Pro, liked how it fit in my hands, liked the sights, but loaded it and laid it on my nightstand for 9 months and never shot it. It's for sale! I don't like the trigger and that's the main reason for selling it. 🙃 As soon as it sells, I'll replace it with one of these 3 pistols..... CZ P-10, Canik TP9 SF Elite or S&W M&P Compact 2.0. I'm struggling with which one to purchase. 🙄 Your reviews are awesome!!! 😎

I think that’s a good assessment. I carry the Hellcat, but enjoy shooting my G19 so much more (probably for the same reasons you stated). I’m going to switch out the trigger and see if that helps, or I just need to switch over to the Sig
