Heather sang this song, her soul left her body and returned.
Amazing was to see that she managed not to copy, but create her own version. And she was dedicating it to the queen of this song, easy to tell, it was in her eyes.

Her name is Heather Headley, and even though she occasionally acts on T.V. (and released a CD back-in-the-day), she's really known for originating Nala in The Lion King and Aida in Aida on Broadway. She also sings for special events (like this one). She doesn't do the whole singing and traveling thing now that she's had babies and stuff.
She is a songbird that can’t compared to others!
I have listened to Heather's version multiple times. She does truly make it her own, just as Whitney made it her own from Dolly Parton. Phenomenal job by Heather.
I like it too but I still feel some inspiration from Whitney's Version. Right from the verse one...singing in Acapella style.

At 3:43 I love this simple vocal ascend into the “money note”. It’s little things like this that show you her original take on this legendary song but you can tell she is having fun yet still slaying this song!!! She definitely gave us a “Broadway” version but I’m a Broadway fan boy so I LOVED IT!!! And to have a full orchestra behind you yet still stay on top 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
