    Wait til you do the leftover.
    Part II... the left over!.... in the morning, take out the leftover from the fridge, heat fry the bistek, in the same pan, fry the leftover rice with the residue... enjoy! Dip the beef in "Pinakurat" vinegar! Heaven!

    You did great, Chris! But i would suggest to squeeze lemon or calamansi before eating bistek.. it will give a different kick, fresh sourness especially if it's calamansi.. it will also lessen the saltiness from the soy sauce.. also, you can pound the beef slices using the back of your knife, it will make the meat a bit more tender.. that's one of my fave Filipino dishes.. hope you can try cooking Kare Kare, Pork Humba or Dinuguan with your mom next time..

    That is one of my favorite dishes! It is supposed to be salty coz you eat it with a lot of rice. ☺️ Calamansi gives it a very distinct taste - hope you can cook with one next time. Really enjoy watching how ypu and your mom enjoys our food. ☺️

    Chris check out “uncultured” channel here on TH-cam. He is a Canadian who now lives in NYC and does eating videos mostly Filipino food. His videos are focused on the actual food so they are kinda short, but he travels around NYC and North Jersey area. BTW try lemon or lime instead of the vinegar with soy sauce for dipping sauce. Calamansi/calamondin is from the lime family. I want to buy a tree but I can’t find it in Home Depot. Amazon sells the trees but I have not purchased plants from Amazon. Calamansi is about 2x the size of a marble but it’s packed with vitamin c and very aromatic. Don’t worry the tree itself is not big and you can just keep pruning it. During our winter months you can leave it next to a window that gets plenty of sunshine, during summer you just leave it outside and water it every few days.

    • @ChrisEatsStuff
      @ChrisEatsStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I may have to buy a calamansi tree and grow my own because calamansi is hard to find in stores around here 😅

    I loved that brandy! I used to be a heavy drinker until I turned 21 years of age😂. My cousin’s husband and me finished 9 of those in one go. Now that I’m almost 40 I only drink socially and even that is once in a blue moon these days.I can’t afford getting locked up for drunk driving specially since I have a commercial license. Anyways good video as always. I eat bistek with a side of pickled pepperoncini peppers( italian sweets) I just bite a piece as I eat the rice and bistek in one scoop, I know you love those labuyo peppers. And pepperoncini is mild but packs a delicious pickled flavor.

  • @wenggomez3401
    @wenggomez3401 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You don't need a dipping sauce for bistek. The sauce itself is enough. Be careful in putting too much soy sauce next time so that the dish won't be too salty.

    • @ChrisEatsStuff

    Next time use sirloin sliced thinly almost paper thinand add your garlic to the marinade same as what you did start by frying the onion set aside then fry the sirlion since it is thinely sliced 1 minuit or less on each side is enough to cook the beef to keep it soft if you over cook it the beef will become tough then add the marinade let it thicken so you'll have some sauce then add the fried onion on top you could also fry thinly sliced potatoes and add to the dish when plating

    Bistek tagalog doesn't need soysauce dip, beacuse it's cooked in its own marinade, your're confusing it with beef tapa the breakfast meal being eaten dipped in spiced vinegar.

  • @noelunson3996
    @noelunson3996 ปีที่แล้ว +1
