- In recent years it has become tradition to farewell our Year 13 cohort with the school haka. The performance of the school haka acknowledges the contribution that the young men of Year 13 have made to Palmerston North Boys' High School over the last five years and wishes them well for their upcoming examinations and lives beyond school. We hope that they will maintain their links with us as they go on to achieve great things in their lives beyond school.

The unity of young men is a powerful thing. Man. Blessings to my Māori brothers in arms from Australia. Your children are magnificent.

We exalt our dead, we celebrate a new life, we honor opposing sporting teams, we bless a new union. We revere its integrity in kapa haka. That is the "Mauri" the life force of haka.

One thing about Haka videos is that you'd never get tired of watching them. I find myself performing the Haka alone sometimes 😊
I love you
i feel like it should be a necessary thing, like its such an emotional act i think it might help people just let them get everything out and use it in a respectful meaningful way. if that makes sense
their blood is just thicker in so many ways. i cry in envy every time i bingewatch haka.
Imagine you’re from a tribe going to war and suddenly you listen to this
É só correr pra casa 😂
Vuelvo y digo que perdimos 😢
Dude, I am just a Kartoffel from Germany, but everytime I see a Video of a Haka being performed I feel like the door to another Realm has opended
Same
We also have some fun and amazing traditions here but the only thing kept alive is the dirndl 🥲
See a lot of multi cultures in here beautiful to see everyone is one
Multi cultures? Bro, they're all kiwis, every single one of those men have the same culture, they live in the same city, go to the same school they speak with the same slang about the same topics
@@xiiir838I think he’s saying not everyone is ethically that.
@@ultimatefirecracker1486 Uh, man, wait to meet a "Chinese"-american and then .set a real Chinese person from the mainland. You're up for a great reality check about what ethnicity really is
@@xiiir838 like I said not everyone there is from that ethnicity a Chinese American is ethnically tied to China and its culture cry me a river
@@xiiir838 the difference is that a Chinese American is born in America and not in China not saying that they aren’t American but that’s not their ethic background like I said.. not that hard to comprehend.
Such a beautiful culture every time I watch HAKA it gives me goosebumps.
geez these guys even respect guys graduating i mean man why cant every country do this this is freakin awsome
I love the response and call back
As long time metalhead who saw his fair share of moshpits, I sometimes wish I were born in New Zealand. Those boys get to let out their steam, I would bet classes are quiet and beautifully behaved.
Goosebumps. There are no words to describe. What a spectacular way to go 👏👏😍
Healthy masculinity. I love it.
Women do the haka too
@@mamingakuri2436so?
@@mamingakuri2436well there wasn’t one in that room doing it fuck me like there’s always one😂
@@YesSir2004 maybe because its an all-boys school? Namely PNBHS
@@mamingakuri2436 exactly so why did you add women can do it the original comment never said they couldn’t
Why does this touch my very soul, and bring me to tears, every time? Much respect.
bullshit
is that your most intelligent comment? you're so stupid @@zyanTN
As an Asian, I'm so thrilled to see some Asian students there knowing Haka so well
this is such a beautiful tradition
Love the Hakka, can’t miss a performance, such camaraderie.
Could you imagine this happening in England, the youth proud of the heritage
Kazajaztan is very nice
I was born into the wrong culture I needed to be born into that kind of culture for the haka
When you just received the school DUX award and your wearing your new spectacles for the occasion looking like a furure professor ,then immediately turn into a savage when the haka is on
This makes me miss home 😢
Fuck me I feel like I could fight Godzilla right now 🤣
😂
I think that's the point lol. Invoking strength and healthy masculinity.
Respect and admiration to their culture
Mindblowing - Pure Energy and Spirit
You know it’s serious when white people and Asian join in the haka
😂
Bro almost every school in the world has different races there that attend
@@youresoold1216 no shit
@@Waiora.fn. ye so why would it be weird for a white or Asian people to do it
@@youresoold1216 because in the west, they would call it cultural appropriation and get offended

This is love, thanks you all ❤❤❤
I wanna go to this school. Just for this! Amazing!
It is the original power that was lost in most parts of the world but still kept in some places.
I wasn't allowed to take trading cards into school but these boys can say goodbye to their leaves by going to war
I dont know what New Zealand people thinks but im very impressive this culutre , that say words while doing haka its so meaningful to me
What energy is this? Incredibly wonderful. ❤️😲🇧🇷
Bro I wish we had this is the states, especially in the service. This is a public demonstration I could support being done at ceremonies.
You would instantly get called out by the wokes for cultural appropriation by saying only natives are allowed to do it
@@firefirefire3277i saw many asians performing the haka in this video itself. i dont think they are appropriating other's culture.😊
@@firefirefire3277Really depends on why you are doing it 😅 if you only do it because it looks cool with zero interest in the culture and the history of Haka then it’s not cool. But if you can actually show the appreciation then only a dumbass will call it appropriation.
they all know how to amazing 🤩
No wonder NZ has a fearsome Rugby Team . This is Spiritual and Emotional Expression .
Thanks for sharing ……..
I don't know why but I am proud of everything single one of these young men .
Prob best skool haka I have seen. Love seeing all the other ethnicities in there going hard! Too much boys ❤
I seen a lot of Hakkas but the quality out of Palmerston North boys high is 👌🏽
this makes me so happy, goodluck on the future whanau
I wish my people had that kind of unity!
Absolutely spectacular no ideawhat the haka means being from Northern Ireland but there fantastic the passion is unbelievable
Very spectacular tradition. What is the meaning of their haka lyrics in English? Just curious
Pura pasión ❤❤❤❤❤
We have become an entire people born of the land of aotearoa...proud and yet Humble az tama, evry1 of U.

I love the Maori culture. It's touches my spirit and I am a South African.
What have I stumbled across. We for sure don't give our year 13 leavers a goodbye like this in the UK🤣😅😅
AWESOME
No clue how I ended up at this, but that was wild lads.
how do you not love your school
Hakas are seriously the coolest thing humans have ever created.
Wicked that really does something for us😊 chrrr

And to think these are the same boys that will go home and play fortnite xD
Que hermoso país y que hermosa cultura.
i did this when the pub opened after COVID 😂
I love this . I'd love to learn the haka that Jonah lomu performed with All Blacks 1995
Que cultura más bonita
It's like they are ready to tear down the building by hand

Is it too much to ask for this kind of graduation
great tradition! tu meke boys!
Goosebumps and I am 76yo😂
For those of you from overseas the name of this haka is the "Ruatoki Hoki Poki".
Awesome ❤RSA
Fantastico
This is male therapy in a feminist's world. 😁
We used to be traditional in assembly in Britain aswell.
I respect that!
Now picture this, multiply the 2 groups by 10 and picture the two different waitaua, one on the beach with a hill that gradually elevates to a cliff side, and the other sailing in on 50-80 waka taua and them doing this right before they clash 🥶🥶🥶
When you look at their eyes you can tell who FEELS that mf

Masculinity. Power energy
Love to sing and do the Haka, unfortunately I can't because, I'm an amputatee have limited motion
You can still have the spirit of the Haka within you!
Kia Kaha 💪
Can someone explain what is haka and why do u perform it ?
its a cultural dance of ours which can be used in special events such as sports, weddings, funerals or things like this. its part of our culture
i am them so i am loveing it guys do you are them too
Thats powerful
Es muy parecido al de Chile ❤
You can't have gender confusion here ! Males allowed to be masculine and it's not toxic
And adolescents with different skin colours doing the same tribal dance. And no whites called cultural appropriation.... That changes from daily basis
Yes. Anyway, their women r the same, saw them doing haka.😊❤
@@PertchakBecause they aren’t Americans. No whites mimicking “we wuz kings”
