Every time there's a "make-over" of church's gear to a newer system, I always, "how did it sound and how does it sound now?". It's nice to hear they have the Waves LV-1 system etc, but what does it sound like? But as always, this is a great video.
Thank you Luke for coming all the way to Yacolt to help us out!! We have made a few small tweaks and improvements since your visit and continue to enjoy the setup. Also we are filling the Streamdecks with buttons we didn’t even know we needed 😂
My guess is that they built their tech booth area for a specific set of stations and now they've out grown the space. I agree that I would probably face it the other way, but from a visual standpoint, having the ProPresenter operator seeing the projector screen/stage might be more useful in their case.
We had mac minis for these stations prior to the upgrade to the Mac studios. They really are beasts… definitely overkill for the Trackslive station now 😊
I cannot see how this simplifies anything. This is creating crazy amounts of complexity. You are now making what should be a light weight, low resource intensive activity completely dependent on having highly skilled volunteers and or payed staff. And for what???? In a small church like this, that sort of overhead is bonkers. Churches please know you do not need to do this to have effective ministries. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should do. Step away from this madness and ask yourself some hard questions.
I run this setup solo some Sundays with no issues. Setup and test everything for the rehearsals and then Sunday services are a breeze. Stream decks at both stations make everything available to that you need sitting in either seat.
How are you running Mac Studios on a network with internet access especially when there's no dedicated soundgrid network port? I thought waves sound-grid required the network to be offline and isolated to avoid audio dropout issues.
Curious, which smart plugs are you using? Currently I have wired almost 30 Leviton smart devices including Smart plugs, motion dimmers (for the bathrooms), house lights etc.
We used the Eve Smartplugs and apple HomeKit and Streamdeck to enable us to turn everything on and off instead of the multiple powered strips we had to switch on behind the stage
We use Sentinelite's free plugin to control shortcuts for HomeKit to turn smartplugs on and another shortcut to turn them off… it takes up 2 streamdeck buttons but could not figure out a toggle on/off with a single button. Hope this helps.
We have had very good results with sending the midi queues from Playback over a Bome network setup to Propresenter. Definitely makes the lyric slide timing nearly perfect.
Good info. You can take simplification to the next level by combining multiple macros & actions into a single Macro. For each unique part of service a single macro can define lighting, main display look and stage look so volunteers simply apply 1 macro. I also highly recommend organizing macros and adding icon to macros so they are easy to ID (requires 7.16)
We already had the Mac Studios from our previous sound board. The computers are fantastic with the only downside so far is the MixMirror app from waves is only supported on PC, hopefully they release a max version soon.
This Mac Studio was the machine that we used for our previous soundboard and waves superrack performer… you are very correct it is way overkill for LV1
I would love to know what kind of cable do you use to transmit the video from camera to your switcher. I need some recommendation on what cable to use if more than 50m camera distance to atem mini extreme. Looking forward for a help. Thank you! Is it still recommended to use HDMI cable even for 50+ meters distance? Or should I use Cat6 LAN cable with LAN to HDMI converter? Will it have delay?
Don't quote me as I'm expert but have done alot of research and somewhat knowledgable in this area. I think your best be would be to make use of SDI connection. Run SDI from your camera and then depending on your type of atem mini extreme run a converter from your SDI cable to HDMI (if your atem mini extreme uses HDMI). Also, dont cheap out on your SDI to HDMI converter as that also plays a role too in the connection latency and reliablity etc. I'd recommend the Blackmagic SDI to HDMI converter. If anyone has any better solutions feel free to also comment :)
SDI or Cat 6. Either will get the job done. Decimators are great converters due to the compatibility between resolutions but Black Magic are great too. If using Cat cables, Blu Stream are probably the most popular converters.
@@israelbankole25 I'm confused with the type of SDI cable to use. I saw SDI 3G in the online market, and then there's 12G. I also saw Blackmagic SDI to HDMI 3G. What are your thoughts on this?
We are using the Eve smartplugs and the lights are Venue proline tristrip 3z @.4A. The lights above the stage are wired to a breaker panel and not a smart plug. Hope this helps.

Why did the modern church install state-of-the-art sound and streaming equipment? Because they found out even God prefers HD for His miracles now!
I love this joke 😂

Why is the mixer rotated 90 degrees to the PA? 😂
thats what im thinking and curious as well
I have been scratching my head about it 😂

@@MrWillihelmdueck that’s fair. 👍🏼
Three Mac Studios? There goes my tech budget for the year.

What is the final latency on master?
Something like this is what I'm looking to do at my church. I'd like to make able to be run by one person but also be simple to use.
I run this setup solo some Sundays with no issues. Setup and test everything for the rehearsals and then Sunday services are a breeze. Stream decks at both stations make everything available to that you need sitting in either seat.
Can you make a video of the DiGiCo S21/S31. The price of this mixer is very nice for the sound!!! It's the only one that wins the M7CL under $10.000!!

Ethernet dongle for the sound grid network and built in Ethernet port for local network

Wait, last time I looked into it you couldn't really use touch screen monitors with macs. When did that change?
Link for those Dell monitors being used for viewing the audio?
Dell P2418HT 23.8" Touch Monitor - 1920X1080 LED-LIT, Black. Amazon $435 ea
Also how is the Mac Studio working with 2 touch screens? I thought this is not possible.
I added an hdmi dongle and the touch base updd driver and everything is working great including multitouch on the faders. Hope this helps.
@@JamesMiller-xi4rq will try it. Thanks!

How much it's the service you provided?
How do you start and stop the capture with a macro? I do not see that as an option

I am a lilttle late to the propresenter macro game and trying to catch up as quickly as possible. Appreciate your advice!!
I've always wondered why you guys prefer mac to pc. Is it the normal reliability claims?

How do you guys connect the stream deck to the Waves Tune plugin? That would be really handy for us!
The LV1 userkeys mapped to the 1st 8 functions keys, then the function keys mapped to the streamdeck buttons
10:39 How do you set up this multiview on ProPresenter? I've been trying to do this but never found out how.

LV1 on a MAC STUDIO?! It's clearly too powerful for the waves software, even a small mac or windows would do.
