    I didn’t realise the cycle superhighways were this bad. I feel like I would have got lost 3 times in the first 5 mins. But really cool to see this perspective. Looking forward to more.

      Thanks for the comment. They're pretty straightforward in the centre of town but I agree, they are a little easier to go the wrong way with, the further out you go.

    If that was really your first ride ,you have loads of confidence. My first ride forgot to lower pedal and fell off, Got on again and wandered all over couldn't keep it straight, so would have been killed doing your run.

      I think we’ve all forgotten to lower the pedal at least once! :) I must admit I didn’t find it too different from my previous bike, just a bit more ‘twitchy’ in the steering, but got used to it very quickly.

    Great video and such a good bike that reveals itself more & more over time. If only we had any decent attempt at cycling infrastructure in the North UK.

    Great video, just found your channel, new subscriber 😊 I am also about to take the plunge and get a Brompton but due to lockdown I can't get out and test ride. Do you mind if I ask; What made you go for S vs M? I prefer the look of S but worry it will be too low down for hands & would M be more comfortable fir longer rides, Do you find the S is comfortable enough? (I am currently riding kona rove) thanks for making these videos 👍

      Sorry for the delay in replying. I took a break during the pandemic. Hope you got your Brompton and are enjoying it. To answer your question I thought the S bar would be a bit more streamlined. I find it comfortable but to be honest, never tried the other handlebar options.

    Thoroughly enjoying your videos, Steven. You come across as a very responsible and respectful cyclist. I've ordered an H3L (I have back problems and heard the H model offers more support for posture). Still waiting on delivery though. How do you find the Brompton handles the lumps and bumps in the road? Keep posting! :)

      @cyclingthecity  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the kind words. The Brompton seems to handle bumps well and is pretty comfortable. The steering is a little 'twitchy' due to the size of the wheels, but is something I got used to pretty quickly. Just make sure you keep a lookout for the larger cracks and drain covers which are more likely to catch the smaller wheels compared to the 24" + wheels of other bikes (I've never had this issue though).

      @@cyclingthecity Thank you very much :) I've watched a few more of your videos now too and it does seem to handle them pretty well! :)

      Glad to hear it's come in handy. I've been impressed with how well segregated both CS3 and CS2 are. You shouldn't have many issues. Enjoy exploring the city :)

    Congrats on your new purchase. I got my S6L a month ago so I'm a newbie like you! 😉 Just wondered, are you wearing a chest harness for your camera?

    The CS 3 in the east is poorly thought out, badly implemented and maintained. In one section where it shares the footpath I had 4 punchers due to screws and glass that was left on it. I skip that part and normally ride from Tower Hill west. The other poor layout is the switching across the Thames Road, the inter change coming out of the underpass is terrible, as a road crosses it, and from the right the cycle lane joins it from the right and to all go across the timed light section where it narrows and floods. As you near New Scotland Yard there is works that blocks the pavement and tourists and pedestrians walk the in the lane.. Nice Video ~Trooper

      Thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delay in replying. I took a break during the pandemic. I do find lots of broken glass left on the path, I assume on purpose from disgruntled drivers/pedestrians and agree that there are some awkward interchanges. Hopefully things will improve over time as more people move to bikes to commute.

    What a beautiful ride. Countries like Bolivia is 50 years in the past compare to this infraestructure. That Superhighway is a dream. UK is a country that really works.

      Thanks for the comment. We've been pretty lucky in London in recent years with the investment they've made for the cycle infrastructure. It can always be better, but I'm certainly not complaining :)

    Are they the standard issue straight handlebars?

    • @cyclingthecity

      Sorry for the delay in replying. They were standard issue handlebars.

    Path is way too narrow, the multi- surfaces are a dangerous joke and the standard road-mending is pathetic. I had hoped London would be aiming for Netherlands parity. BUT, better than nothing, I suppose.

    • @cyclingthecity
      @cyclingthecity  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fair point. It's not perfect but being segregated from the traffic in the busiest sections makes it so much better than before.
