Exyll [GD] Dude whether you believe it or not, there are people out there (like me) who don't build much with redstone and therefore have no idea how this all works. I mean I've never used anything more than pistons and normal redstone items so i have no idea how observers and all that shit works. Despite that people like me might be interested in building this kind of elevator, so a tutorial would be great. You don't have to feel good about yourself just cos you have experience with redstone and other people don't. That's just pathetic.

This is before scaffolding and scaffolding isn't even an elevator. An elevator is defined as a contraption that sends you from one height to another with little to no horizontal movement. Scaffolding require more post-building input than just a button.

I once tried to make a minecraft elevator that can stop in more than 2 floors, but i couldn't even build an elevator without a tutorial. I really would like to see an elevator than can stop in more than 2 floors.😊

I'm just pointing out that most of the Redstone is actually shown here anyway and that I CAN make this quite easily just with the basic principles shown in this vid. Stop acting like an ass. You can't really knock me for not doing this until you do it because otherwise you are just a big hypocrite.
Literally one glance at my channel would show you why I wouldn't make that tutorial.

Mumbo Jumbo I challange you to make a multi floor system of this I don't know that's simple or not.if not simple please try.
oliver brindley I think even if it’s possible one floor has to be very high. As you can see the launching and stopping mechanism are quite big, so hard to fit in between floors easily

While the elevator itself could remain 2x2, adding a floor selector would likely push out the mechanics a little bit.
Im thinking you would need a series of t-flop switches enabling and disabling the catching and launching mechanisms at each floor, with a "call" button on the outside of the shaft and then an up button and a down button on the inside of the door frame to actually launch the elevator.
Pretty sure you wpuld need at least like ten blocks between floors for it to work though.

You should really put this in the Hermitcraft server, to avoid mobs coming in from the roof, or even prevent you being a spoon and falling out as well.

Mumbo you need to add a call function, so if you are on a different floor to the elevator then you can hit a button and it will go to your layer.

This is incredible, don’t get me wrong, but a more difficult challenge you could attempt would be to make 2x2 piston doors at both levels, as well as making the elevator suitable for buildings with more than 2 stories. It could also be interesting to try to make a key card activation for the carriage, say a basement only certain personnel could access @Mumbo Jumbo

The elevator is 2 x 2 so just look at the sides. everything else is plain simple!

This is amazing! But I think it would be a lot cooler if you did a 2 by 2 piston door, instead of wooden fences. Just like standard elevators :D

@Hayden Oops, you are right. I have no idea how I missed that.
Edit: My answer below this one makes it still possible to make a 2*2 piston door, but it would need to have 2 blocks that do nothing above it. I think that a 3*2 will intefere with the redstone, but the 2*2 won't.

Pistons take 1.5 ticks to extend. Therefore they were half a tick apart which is why 2 ticks didn't work, nor did 3. ;) you could've used a comparator after a 1 tick repeater for 1.5 ticks after the piston but it works anyways!

I think the easiest way to make it multi floor would be to build more than one and have them alternating right/left

Build challenge: fit multi-story wiring in a smaller space than a second lift column.
Massive elevators do have split access, elevator 1 goes from 1-20, elevator 2 goes from 21-40 ect. To get multi floor elevators would require extensive redstone internal "software"

Pyry Kurunsaari doesn't support a third floor. immersion ruined, no realism.
Should be pretty doable. Since there's a catching circuit, you can just disable all the catching circuits except the selected floor. Unfortunately, the button panel can't move with the elevator, so that's a bit of a problem, but still.
Just add an RSNOR latch to each floor's catching station (and some on/off switch via AND gate or a piston moving a block to complete circuit) and then wire each button to flip its latch on and all the others off. It should travel up to the floor.

Usually, I thoroughly like your videos. They're smart as well as fun. You take on projects with a wink and a smile, like you may not know what the outcome will be but you know you'll have fun getting there. Not sure why you keep bringing yourself down sometimes. I think you are smart, good at redstone and quite a decent human being. But this video - oh man - this video is above and beyond. You actually made a working elevator? I would add a middle station that can be copied and pasted for those of us who have more than 2 floors to go to, a floor selector with lights that tell you what floor the elevator is currently on, a calling system that works on every floor, and a better-looking door. Elevator music, although unnecessary, would be icing on the cake, but some things are not possible.

Could do 2 elevator shafts, each elevator going between 2 floors and alternating sides. If they face each other it could be relatively quick to switch between them.

These red stone builds are amazing. I just wish he'd go more step by step in how to make them. I recently came back to minecraft after a couple year hiatus, and I really don't understand all this stuff. I used to be a redstone master when all I had to work with were torches, dust, pistons, and repeaters, and that was it

I can think of something you can do. What about extra floors? You could also chance the glazed terracotta to the one with the arrows to show how it moves things.

User Name the wonkavator doesn't just go upwards, downwards, and side wards. It also goes backwards, and forwards, and diagonalwards even into outer space!
This was very impressive the first time I saw it but now I'm thinking of how real elevators work. With the way they allow you to queue up different floors to go to and queue requests from other floors as well. I wonder how complicated it would be to implement all the features of real elevators into this?

Hi Mumbo, I made your realistic elevator exactly from watching your video by pausing it many times... I tried to do my best copping block for block because I wanted to make a realistic elevator with a roof and I am like Grian. I love building and have little knowlege of redstone. I wish you'd view the bottom of the elevator because I can make the elevator top go up and down but dont know how to make the fence go up and down. Edit: The only fence I made to work was the second floor not the first.
