So rather than just a new hire, Grif turned him into the owner and sole proprietor of Fantasy Costco.
I like how their belief that Garfield the Deals Warlock is their 'first cross universe character' and the DM probably smirked a little on the inside on hearing that.

This reminds me of Justin’s later buyer’s remorse over the pocket spa This is an EXCELLENT animation - I love how you kept the three as their characters even though technically they weren’t always in character. Perfect decision that helped the flow of it all. Favourite moment was Magnus asking Griffin to paint them a word picture.

First thing I'd ask is: Is the goldfish real, and if so does the sphere open to feed it, or is it enchanted to never need to eat and water never need to be cleaned? Also is the fish immortal xD
The closest thing to that ball (which obviously provides sustenance to the fish) is a circlet of sustenance for 2k5 gp. At 300 gp this was a bargain in that it was sold for less than it costed to make. Problem was, it was kinda useless, except maybe as a toy for some rich girl, so they put it in a "mystery bag" to lure some suckers and get back some of the cost. This is brilliant in how much it makes sense.
“Is the mystery bag worth it?” is a totally legit question. Most places that offer something like that will say something to the effect of, “$30 bag contains at least $50 worth of stuff.” You just don’t get to pick the stuff.
This scene is so different in the comic, but it was BECAUSE OF THIS ANIMATIC I watched and as I read petals to the metal, I love the scene in that comic with the mystery bag. Small fact and tiny spoil: It was 700 gold pieces in the comic while here its 300

So, this reminds me of a thing I did for my players. They were lousy with money so I did something like the mystery bag, each package was 500GP and players rolled a 1D100 to see what they got. One player got a cape that could turn in to bat wings and allow them to fly. Another got a t-rex figure that turned in to a real t-rex. Yet another got a bottomless bag of peanuts that they weren't very impressed with, I let them sell that back for 250GP. The bottomless bag of peanuts was even more useless because I don't use stuff like hunger or thirst in my games, lmfao.

If they had wanted to use the bag of peanuts on a hole to fill it, or to like suffocate enemies, I'd have allowed it. I do this thing called "Fate Rolls", where a player can roll a 1D100 to try and nudge fate in their favor, so if you were playing in my game and had the peanuts, if you had asked, "Any chance [enemy] is allergic to peanuts?", we let Fate (1D100) decide. Although, while I love and encourage creativity, stuff like that I generally only allow once so it isn't abused.
Yeah, I use the 100 sided as much as I can because it's fun to roll, everyone likes rolling that big ass clumsy 1D100. If religious players want to try and contact their God, they can try once a day and on a 95 or better they actually do. That doesn't mean they'll get what they want or anything but they have that chance and they just love the fact that's an option.
