TURN OFF AUTO SELECT CLIPS IN PREMIERE - How To Turn Off Selection Follows Playhead - Filmmaking 101

- In this Premiere tutorial, I show you how to disable auto select clips in Adobe Premiere Pro.
This feature, otherwise known as Selection Follows Playhead can slow you down significantly when you scrub through your timeline by auto-selecting your clips. So you should know what it is, and how to turn it off!

This is useless as mine keeps defaulting to the same setting even after I turn it off.

To turn off for real: Open the console (Ctrl + F12), search "playhead" and you'll see Color.AutoSelectionFollowsPlayhead and set to "false" by unchecking
I have the function on a shortcut to IMMEDIATLY turn it off when opening a new timeline or project. It´s pretty annoying as a default, but when it comes to grading it can be usefull. I don´t want to jump back and forth with my curser between timeline and Lumetri. So by turning it on, I can jump from clip to clip with a shortcut und the playhead selects the clip to work on the next without taking the eyes off of the lumetri window.

That's funny because I prefer it on....how bout them apples?! :)
The reason why I like it is because I will go to make changes to what I'm seeing and then realize nothing is changing and it's because what I'm seeing isn't selected. I'm not a beginner at Premiere, but I'm sure it's probably because I'm not using it correctly.

Unfortunately, it keeps turning back on. Constantly. If you have the luminetri effects panel open. Which I do.

THANK GOD!!! Sooo annoying. 1/4th of my editing time is turning the damn thing off.
Spoke too soon... haha it turns back on if you're also color correcting with Lumetri.
It turns back on by itself every two minutes so this didn't help me at all
