The tomboy refers to not being stuck to a gender stereotype. This is why they say neither man nor woman, just me idle. Also another reason why they removed the G from their name. They can be whoever they want to be, they can drink whiskey or smoke cigarettes if they want. It’s not the western tomboy definition
I mean I think it fits the Western dictionary definition too: a girl who enjoys rough, noisy activities traditionally associated with boys.
Notice how it says nothing about looks, or dress.

That's about Soojin. My friend told me that one. It is very sweet of them to keep referencing her
For this song, being a "Tomboy" means doing things that Korean society might not approve of for girls, but it's fine for boys. Examples listed in the song are drinking whiskey, smoking cigarettes, hanging out with your freinds, getting a tattoo, and having a sex life. Smoking, drinking, and riding on a motor cycle are a few of the things that Soojin was shamed over (and admitted) during the scandal that ultimately resulted in her leaving the group (bullying was never proven and she was later found innocent of it). There were several idols caught up in similar scandals at the same time and when it was all over there were 2 girls removed from their groups and zero boys. "Tomboy" was the title track of the "I never die" album which was the first (G)I-dle album after the group lost Soojin. The song basically says, "If being a girl is going to restrict the things we can do (such as controlling their own music and careers) then I guess we will be "Tomboys". The (G) in the group name stands for girl. This is why they toyed around with removing the (G) and just being "Idle", but it turns out that changing your name comes with a lot of complications and they eventually abandoned the idea. Now they use both "Idle" or "(G)I-dle" when referring to themselves.

Tomboy is their comback as 5 member group. But it has many Soojin References. Even when they open the back of the car you can see 6 balloons, also they removed theG from G Idle. As far as I know and I could be wrong, their name is a reference of 6 unique people together. they always have something else hidden, a message to share.

Go watch something like Twice's Hearth Shaker if you want girly korean girls for comparison, IDLE are feminine yes, but not that sort of feminine expected from idols.
Edit If you really decide to watch Twice, I recommend you reacting to it as it is one of the most popular girl groups out there, but they have an entire different vibe to IDLE. ONCE will kill me for this, but personally dont like them, too much aegyo for my tastes. But I understand Twice is a GG made for young male audiences, while IDLE is more gender/age neutral, and that's what they mean by Tomboy (not someone dressing/acting as a boy)

Helloooo 👋! I started working on the playlists, however I worked the entire week (11 hours Saturday), so I was not able to create all playlist and separate the videos.
