Falon'Din killed Mythal by tricking her into thinking he was Dirthamen, who didn't know how to injure her. The one she bloodied in the temple was actually Dirthamen posing as Falon'Din. Thinking she had defeated him, she made him swear a blood oath that he would never raise his hand against her again. Dirthamen, posing as Falon'Din, agreed. This made Mythal think Falon'Din was no longer a threat, but in fact this gave Falon'Din the opportunity to strike Mythal down when she would least expect it. The other evenuris were in on it. Elgar'nan probably provoked her to draw her out. She confronted Elgar'nan with Falon'Din there, and thinking he could not attack her, she let her guard down. That's when Falon'Din stabbed her through the back. Hence Solas' unfinished painting of himself finding Mythal with a sword in her back. Also, Flemeth's Fade world (when absorbing Urthemiel) shows a statue of Falon'Din pointing toward a statue of Dirthamen and he has a sword through his back. This references Dirthamen being bloodied instead of Falon'Din, Dirthamen's betrayal of Mythal through trickery, and Mythal's intent for Dirthamen for what happened to her.

Am I the only one who thinks BioWare listens to Cole and in DA4 we will see some of Cole's theories turned into canon? I imagine DA4 writers go "Oh shit, this actually makes sense, even though we haven't thought this through"

Okay I just left a comment on the dirthamen video but I think I may have figured it out. What if falon din was not allowed to keep all of his power. What if he was weakened so significantly that the part of his power that was taken from him was basically a shadow of falon din, and falon din being more of a reflection of his prior self as opposed to the entire picture
Edit: after seeing the song to Falon din, the shadow that hungers is possibly dirthamen, who is literally described as Falon din's shadow. Maybe Falon din's shadow, Dirthamen, is hungry for power or control much like Vengeance became with Anders.
The thing about mastering the dark that lies could be a direct connection to Dirthamen mastering the raven of deception, a DARK bird that deceives possibly through lies?
Wings of death as thick as night surrounding him could be the metaphorical darkness that surrounds him as much as the emotional darkness. If he is shrouded in complete darkness, then he would be more difficult to see thus making a further connection to Falon din having a stronger bond with mystery a deception than originally thought.

I think there is something going on with him. Solas specifically did not like him and i guess there was an enmity between both of them in ancient times. Maybe he is Solas archenemy or something. I always had the feeling that there is a personal issue our elven companion had with Falon'din - he was never so outspoken against the other elven gods except Falon'din.

He seemed very eager to point out how much of a douchebag he was.

I like the idea of the forgotten ones being part of the evanuris. (forbidden or forgotten... forget which are the demons and which are the elves >.

If Elves were once Spirits then some of them must of turned into Demons...Hell my Elven Mage Inquisitor when metting with Mythal literally calls her an Abomination because that's exactly what she is. Why can't all the Evanuris be Abominations? Or their corruption for power turned them into Demons. Spirits and Demons both can become powerful enough to be perceived as "Gods" both by Humans and Elves! The Dread Wolf itself looks like a Pride Demon with it's eyes and Solas legit name is Pride. The Evanuris and Solas ARE Demons I see no if's and's or but's about it. As for the Forgotten Ones they're most likely too or they're some combination of different things.

Maybe Mythal was killed because she was against using the Blight, and in the end even Elgar'nan agreeded that his so called wife had to go because she was holding their empire back with rational actions here and there.

Yep something tells me Elgar'nan would seek to use the Blight to destroy the world or existence itself. He DIDN'T create it just using it but doesn't know how so he failed before but keeps trying over and over through proxies like the Archdemons.

Do we think all the Elven "Gods" are really children to Mythal and/or Elgar'nan...Or are they simply followers who gained power themselves? Think about it we have a lot of cults that call themselves children to their different prophets and gods.

I think the "children" thing is more like the way priests refer each other in the chantry. "Sister", "mother". A political designation...

This message is four years late, but that's cause I didn't stop to watch all videos cause I was lazy. You forgot that the Forgotten Ones could have fought the Evenuris because you stubbed your toe. Is that a legit reason? No, but it is reason enough.
