I'm honestly impressed with whoever wrote the lyrics. Obviously, the whole joke is that they weren't coherent, but it'd actually take a lot of work to come up with lyrics that make no sense and yet also sound like they're supposed to make sense.
Yeah. And the melody and the whole song in general. Its actually incredible.

@@em2souls Sometimes it's hard to explain jokes, 'cause different people find different things funny. But I'll try. So, the characters would have been expecting the women to sing songs that they understood, probably about romance. But the joke is that the women were so tired from all the travelling that their songs just rambled and didn't make sense. And the more they went on, the weirder their songs sounded. But then at the end, the men were happy anyway, even though it was clear the women weren't even right in the head, because they hadn't seen women in so long. I think it's playing off the idea that often things that are unexpected are funny.

The fact that they were gradually getting scarier and crazier throughout the video... I'm dying from laughing too hard
I think they saw to much on the battle field
This took place in ww2. I think they DID see too much. And attacking monkeys who need to be in a paper bag. And evil relatives. And poisoned soup in a can. And everything else in the song.

My favorite part is that all three go crazy in a slightly different way. Jess is dazed, Jetta is hallucinating, Tori is trying to push away the demons. Hilarious

Tori at the end saying, "no, no, no." Sounded just like my 19 month old daughter, it made my laugh even more. Such a funny sketch. I really should learn not to watch Studio C next to my sleeping husband, I have to stifle my laugh.
On a serious note, I haven't ever thought of the trauma entertainers experience when they go to war to try and help ease the trauma the soldiers are experiencing....

It's actually a "knockoff", as you said, of the Andrews Sisters- a group of 3 ladies that sang their way through WWII.
They're on TH-cam- just look up 'The Andrew Sisters'. One of my personal favorites is 'Don't Sit Under the Apple Tree (With Anyone Else but Me)'.

I wasn’t even halfway through and I already knew the plot to the skit. But still super funny, especially how they managed to make it look as though they’re attempting not to look dead inside. And they’re just slowly going more and more insane throughout the entire skit.
I love the part at 3:10 where the sailor yells "GEE WHIZ PRETTY" and the guy to his left quickly tries not to crack up.

Rather than a scandalous reference, probably more a reference to General Anthony McAuliffe’s one word response to the Germans when asked to surrender in the Battle of the Bulge when his position was i jeopardy. His response to their request was simply: “Nuts”. They didn’t surrender and held out til the Allies regained the advantage.

Veterans appreciate this sketch on a level that civilians will probably never understand.
You would not believe the places I went to watch this to get away from my siblings. That is why I did not finish it until 4 hours after it was uploaded. It is cold in the garage.

@@lukacunningham342 It is not just the name it is also that the skit is set during WWII, and the song is reminiscent of the song "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" which the Andrew Sisters were famous for. Certainly, the musical style is spot on for this parody.

Apparently, it's more likely and firstly a reference to the answer given by a general of the battle of the bulge when asked by the german to surrender. 'Nuts' was the answer.

And Jessica's voice, my god !!! We got to hear Tori sing a fair amount of times now, Jetta as well, but never did we got to hear Jessica so well (I think she did maybe background singing or group singing in other sketchs but not more? Or well, of the sketch that go on youtube at least). And her voice fits that genre of song so well too! It's perfect!
