As a huge motorsport fan in general this content is incredible to see. No ones done this before so keep it going and we'll all appreciate it a million 🙌🙌
becoming a motorsport mechanic has been always my biggest dream, hope I get into formula student program a uni and make the dreams come true, thanks for all that POV's and keep it up! great content
Amazing stuff. Really enjoyed that. I know it's gonna be more chaotic/panicky when you've got to deal with an overnight rebuild or engine/gearbox change but it would be fantastic to see.
The champagne/gold hue of the livery on the #24 is growing on me by an alarming rate and i have no clue why 😅. I guess i'll find out myself if my plan for the 24hrs of spa early july get canned as I've heared the 4hrs of Spa this year is a free access event. That would be a nice return to ELMS with the excuse to do the pitwalk this time (arrived just before the race start in 2021). Also, i don't know if you or any in the team collect them but I've seen proper 1/43 scale versions of some of the Nielsen Orecas for sale. With how i'm rooting more and more for this team, soon enough i'm gonna have to get me one of them!
Nice that's good to hear and yeah spa 4h is always a good event and if it's free access that's better. Ahh nice and yes the team did get models of the car for each team member.
dumb question but why swap only left side tires? a bit odd considering the track runs counter clockwise. Or is it that there are more demanding right handers on the track?
@@TheMotorsportMechanic Thanks for reply. Love to see a little real time data analysis with the car during an actual stint, especially for handling or center of pressure. Always wonder what that would be like, we are not allowed live telemetry so its always a cluster going after something that happened hours ago. Thanks so much, win that next one!!
This is definitely my dream job! But much do motorsport engineers get paid? And do they you guys have any allowances or things paid for you while you are on the job?
I went to college and studied motorsport which is good as they have contacts with teams that you can go help out on weekends and hopefully get a job or apprenticeship from that or just offer your help for free at race weekends to teams to get some experience.
It is pretty much a usb stick anbd collects all of the data from the car so the engineers can look back at the car and hopefully spot any issues before they become a problem. There is infact 2 data sticks in the car 1 is ours and the other is the organisers so if there is a incident or something they can take the data and look at it.
Comment and let me know what you want to see next
More of the same would be good
love this
The blooper reel!
More of this !

Amazing content... showing what is never seen
Consider buying a chest mounted camera or head mounted to free up both hands
A lot of hard work put in at the circuit and these videos, awesome job!!
Can’t wait to see you guys at Le Mans next month!
Thanks and yes should be a good couple of weeks 👍
Thanks for sharing, this is brilliant insight!
Thanks more to come soon.
An interesting insight. I'm impressed how all your colleagues are unfazed by you sticking the camera in their faces!
Well I think me sticking the camera in their faces is the least annoying thing 😂
This is amazing! Thank you so much for this! Do you interact with the drivers much? It seems its 2 separate worlds!
No worries, glad you liked it and yes as we work directly with the drivers we do interest with them

That's my dream job! What a great and unique video. Just one thing, that sometimes I can barely hear you voicing over, could be improved.
Thanks and I appreciate the feed back. I will improve it for future videos 👍

Cool new channel, just found it. We race in USA. Do you guys always get the cars back to the shop between events?
For all the European events, Yes the cad does come back to the workshop.

It depends on your experience on how much you get paid. Whilst away the team covers the cost of meals, travel and accommodation.
what would it take to be apart of sutch a team?
What’s the best way for someone to become a Motorsport mechanic? Is it possible to get an apprenticeship on a team and work your way up from there?
I went to college and studied motorsport which is good as they have contacts with teams that you can go help out on weekends and hopefully get a job or apprenticeship from that or just offer your help for free at race weekends to teams to get some experience.
Im curious why you’re blurring out the gearbox?
On top of the gearbox is all of the rear suspension setup components like dampers springs roll bar and third element

@@TheMotorsportMechanic Does the car not have live telemetery or is that a back up to the telemetry?
Yes the car does have live telemetry it's a back up and it's a regulation for the championship.
3:23 that young lady should not be in the shop with her hair down like that 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
This is definitely not a job for stupid people, you have to think of so many things at the same time - respect!
Thanks and yes you have to be on it all the time.
