  • Fa Li i no magic.
    It is just another way to use the hip to create relaxed but powerful motions.
    In the next training record episode, we give some insights about what fa li is and open with you some misunderstandings that often come along with the practice of this basic skill.

    very good!!!! this is exactly what it is, it is a wave coming from the hip, it can throw people yes, but it's nothing special, a punch, anything is a wave... same as if you used a chainwhip/morningstar and swung it, the angular momentum is amplified by each chain in the link and the ending strike is a wave of mechanical energy, traveling into the target, i make sure i teach martial arts this way!!!!. a punch is no different, energy being delivered by crashing into opponent with a rotating hip is no different, it's mechanical forces cause that's what we are, puppets using forces

    Well done on chasing the woo out of Fa Li. And keep those nicknames coming, it's a great thing.

      It's clear that your words are backed by real life hard work. In particular in the realm of internal martial arts, where 90% of the school don't do the real gongfu, only who sweat and put the effort everyday is able to also explain the results. More than 10 years ago I used to live in a small wushu school, lost on the hills around wudang mountains... I remember very well what it was like to train 8 our a day and then "talk" about internal energy...

    Your videos keep turning up in my feed at the right time. I've been practising fa li a lot recently after watching İsmet's Zoom classes on it, then now TH-cam serves up this video for me (which somehow I missed when it first came out). I don't know if this is synchronicity or just Google being creepy.

    The Xing-Yi style you are training is from Wudang?

    You guys are fantastic, I appreciate the generous offerings. I am curious if these teachings are available on you monthly subscription for internal kung fu? Does the online monthly sub teach you how to apply this to Xing Yi Quan as well?

      On my homepage www.hiddenturtle.de I have at the moment an ongoing Xing Yi Online Seminar, in which we learn the basics of Xing Yi and a special power development program as explained in that video here. Even though we are already having our third class this week you are still welcome to rewatch the past episodes and join us.

    There are some good videos of experts doing Fali on TH-cam. They don't warp their spine out of the jin path like this. Perhaps you should explore?

    • @xuangongfu
      @xuangongfu  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What we show here is not the end of practice. It is the first step. Opening the spine is an essential part on that way. Only when the spine is open the power can be guided most efficiently. The more skilled you get the smaller you get in your motions. So this is our approach. You start big and get smaller and smaller. There are many other approaches, therefore it is not always useful to compare. Because without knowing you might end up comparing a tree with a fruit. But of course, the exploring never stops! This is the way.

      @@xuangongfu Yes, I remember when some of Park Bok Nam's students used to do this extreme practice of "Dragon Back", thinking it was correct and led to fajin. None of them can do fajin/fali well, to this day. But each to his own.
