@IllMatic97 one reason why sports games have been trash is that the animation quality and the capture quality wasn't improving. It's been making progress the last 3-4 years. The main problem I have with 2k is that they'll improve the gameplay animations but don't upgrade the overall system. They still rely on canned animations which shouldn't be a thing. Even Madden has overhauled their physics system. Only game that had physics was NHL.

2k1-2k16 were the golden years. You could just enjoy the game and play. No having to buy every dribble move no having to play on the park to hoop with friends (we still had my court) 2k16 imo was the best

Since they’re so focused on getting us to play in the city, why won’t they just create a different set of animations and badges (dribble moves, trick shots, special alley opp passes) something like NBA Street or AND1 “streetball“ add different gyms like drew league, add street crews instead of affiliations. Add summer league and training camps. Add historical packs and allow us to travel to play against tough CPU or other myplayers.
I prefer the arcade games. I was hoping EA would do something with the NBA JAM rites. If they attached NBA JAM to NBA LIVE, I think they could take over the market. Street is okay... It's a great way to feel for the market. Sign a couple of big NBA names to be in it instead of the whole NBA rites...
In the past.. I would’ve agreed that NBA Street wouldn’t put a dent into 2K.. but I liken it to the way Fortnite pulled players away from games like COD.. it appeals to a different (mainly younger) audience and there will likely be a strong market and player base for it.

Honestly this isn’t a bad idea, I mean it’s not a full sim and more arcade style, but at least they are competing. So that’s better than nothing. But again I don’t plan on getting 2k until they either put it on sale around Christmas, or it becomes free
