    The final section of this video helped me a lot. I installed my doorbell camera "properly" and everything didn't fit very snug, and there was a small gap where i could see the cables. This definitely isn't water-safe and i was concerned so i watched this video. I installed the wedge backwards... oops.. lol!

    I'm confused, looking to buy this to use on WIFI only. Is the power adaptor ONLY used for setup in the house to make it easier? Then once installed the doorbell is powered by ONLY the 2 doorbell wires and not the power cable? Thanks

    Your power connections on the video are opposite to my instructions in the reolink diagram booklet.
    On my reolink, the RED 24v DC connection wire is on the bottom screw and the BLACK wire connection is on the top screw. The wiring is correct because it works fine.
    I have the UK version, which comes with a 24v output DC transformer.

    Just installed the doorbell and it works. Great video that makes the installation easy... almost. I did install a 256 GB micro SD card and the Reolink app does not detect the card. I then pulled it out and manually formatted the card to FAT 32 and then reinserted. Still does not detect. I then took a known good micro SD card (16 GB) and put that into the doorbell. Still not detected. I'm out of ideas short of sending the doorbell back and hoping a new one rectifies the problem.

      Usually on the app you get an option to format the SD card after you insert it in the doorbell.

    I just got mine last week and test it out today. The short/long power input cable isn't color code (red&black) like in the video. My came with both wires set are black. I did ohm it out, but those don't have DMM may wire it incorrectly. I am not sure it matter, but thought to mention that help someone.

    I had done a lot of research and landed on Reolink security camera system. Naturally I wanted a doorbell in the same system. • @GregDenver303
      @GregDenver303 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just installed the Reolink with the wedge. Why did I use the wedge? Because I stalled my doorbell at the corner of where two walls come together (i.e. 90 degrees). If I would have installed the doorbell flat then half of the view would have been of wall in the corner where I installed it. The wedge forces the camera away from the wall so that I get more view of what's actually happening on the porch and not the wall it's installed next to.

    This is a bit unexpected laziness from Reolink with repeat of POE installation which is replayed same as WiFi install also you show no corner plate if required, you also assume that the behind the wall is plain easy sailing, well there may be a hard wall or wood wall etc, that is more challenging then just connecting this bell. I was expecting author of this video to do more, example show us the details of the power adapter - what if I want to hard wire into existing door bell instead of using the power adapter - what is the volt/amps required etc..

While this video covers setting up the WiFi part it does not cover how to get power to the unit. Anyone following these instructions will be very disappointed when the camera does not power on. Dear ReoLink, what the hell are you supposed to plug the power adapter into???
