Sitar maestro Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan plays an alap, Jhaptal vilambit gat, and Ektaal drut gat in Raag Bairagi, an early morning Raag not often performed on sitar. It is amazing that a Raag consisting of just 5 notes can have so much gravitas, and even more so to see that gravitas expressed in an instrument as fully as in vocal renditions.
