I started uploading on shutterstock a year ago but unfortunately only cellphone images cause I didn't have a camera and I wanted to better my photography skills while I saved up and searched which camera to buy so I thought why not! I have been watching your tutorials among others and I learned a lot and I keep learning! Now I just got my first camera and I can upload photos and videos wherever I want so I am watching your videos again to understand which other stock agencies are worth the time! For now I am shooting everything except portraits of people! Still got a long way ahead of me. I also intend to continue making nature youtube videos which you are more than welcome to come check out if it interests you. For now they might not be so great but I promise I will keep honing my skills until I get it right cause once I start smth I never let go! Wish you the best Zdenka and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us...
I learned that there are two types of contracts offered by Stock agencies. I have thought about submitting photos to a stock agency. I am a bit afraid. But I need to look over my photos and see what I want to submit and just do it! Thanks for the videos Zdenka!
Thank you for the roundup of your top stock agencies. I’m currently on several that you mentioned but I’ve spent most of my time and I’ve had the most luck with Shutterstock. I’ve just started using Lightroom so I can add the keywords to the meta details of each photo to save time when submitting to the other agencies.
You are very welcome Jerry... yes Shutterstock is no.1 absolutely.. lately Envato really is surprising me with sales so it is worth check them out as well. Best of luck! 🤗🏖🌅🌻
@@ZdenkaDarula Hi again i wanted to know more about archiving and saving my images. Do you store your raw images in a seperate folder from your edited work. How does your filing system work?
Yes j do keep them separate. It is very simple... one folder RAW and second JEPG finals... that is all... I throw them on external drive and I am pretty much done. I hope this helps. Best of luck 🤗📽📷
Hi Zdenka, thanks for being honest and your videos are always helpful and informative. I would like to know how do you upload all your photos and footage to these agencies at the same time? It takes a lot of time to upload and do the metadata for me? Would be great if you can suggest a way to improve workflow.
Do you use any particular stock submitter/ uploader app? A few years ago I tried a couple (cannot even remember names) that worked to a certain extent with various agencies but different results with each. Every site needed further work after the upload. I started with basically your list of agencies and it got to be so time consuming doing 5-6 of them (fighting the uploads)I am now down to Shutterstock, Getty, and Adobe and just submitting to them individually one at a time. I use Shutterstock key wording tool and apply key words, title, and description in Lightroom but still have to tweak to each site needs. Is there an uploader that they all will take or requires minimal work after the upload? Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks for the informative videos.
Thank you for a great question. I do have this topic on to do list... I will for sure make a video about that.. I am still doing research and yes there are options.. all the best with stock photography 📽📷🌞
Hi zdenka, I uploaded 3 pics had to shutersstock following this video, 1 approved 2 not and shutersstock they gave me reasons. like focus which I can can understand grain is hard. can u review the 2 photos and tell what exactly shutterstock ment?
Grain/noise happens for many reasons one of them is high sensitivity (ISO) It could also be lense compression (when things in the background are larger than they should and make the photo look wonky)
Hi Zenka, thank you for the videos. I was an advertising photographer but closed my studio some years back. I travel to take photographs and currently in Vietnam. I'm not sure what stock agency would be best for travel. I have over 3,000 photos on Alamy and sell a few each month but usually make $45 to $200 on sales. They let me pick whether it's rights managed or royalty free. Do the others let you pick? I also shoot nature, seascapes and landscapes, not too many people except for travel images. any advice, should I upload to the other agencies and what do you use to keep track of who you put photos with? I really enjoy your videos, thank you again!!
Thank you very much for your comment. I never had luck with Alamy. I didn’t really sell much there. I have always been selling with pretty much all agencies under none exclusive contract. Stock income however slowed down over the years. Now I just use wirestock
@@ZdenkaDarula Thank you for the reply. I will look up wire stock, but I much of your images are very different from mine because you photograph more people than I do. I'll look up wire stock, another one I never heard of before. :)
I am curious if the top photo stock companies you share have a minimum megapixel? When I looked into this some years back I found that if I didn't own a Pro level high megapixel camera that some companies wouldn't let me submit. I am fairly new and was discouraged then and technology wasn't like today. I never upgraded. Thank you!
Hi Zdenka! Your videos are amazing!!! I have a doubt about how to choose if it is better to upload one photo as commercial or editorial.... For exemple, I have some photos of my daughter (she is 20 years old) at Times Square.... and I don"t know if it will sell more as commercial or editorial....can you help me with this? thanks a lot !!!
That is something I really don't know myself as well as I really upload only commercial photos. Commercial license is long term and photos tend to sell longer and more often.... I don't have experience with editorial..... best of luck 🤗📷🎞
