    Those horizontal short posts should be flexible and linked to some sort of smart mechanism to give them the ability to respond as near as possible to imaginary human target.

    I just finished mounting a wooden dummy in my basement. I always practiced Japanese martial arts, seven years of karate shotokan, 2 and a half years of judo and six months of Kendo. I have found out that I have to de-learn and re-learn, as karate can make you tough as wood, but it's fairly rigid style, Chinese martial arts are way more fluid. Your video was very useful. I've just been doing combos at it, with kumite gloves, defending and punching and even elbowing. I'm all sore, eh! Now I'm looking at the proper techniques, so I can practice as it should be done. Thanks for the upload. By the way I practice two hours a day after work and I already feel my reflexes coming back after years of no practice. Thanks for the upload man.

      By the way my dummy was 550 euros, but the wood is of extremely good quality, it took me a while to assemble it though. The leg down is a moving leg, great for practicing with your feet as well as the upper body.

    Sifu david, i am grateful that you extended this series into section 3 and beyond.
    I train wing chun since decades, but only now can i afford a wooden dummy - and life circumstances forced me away from
    my old kwoon, I found your lectures to be most inline with what i learned from my previous si-jo (leung ting) , si-fu and and older sisters/brothers ; very good quality instructions. Your are a very impressive person.
    Greetings from Northern Europe

    Can you defeat boxer???

    • @LuKaZz420
      @LuKaZz420 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's not the style, it's the ability of the individual. Somebody who practiced Tae Kwon Do for ten years is more likely to defeat a Karateka who only practiced for two years, doesn't mean one style is better than the other. Somebody who has practiced Wing Chun for 20 years will probably beat somebody who's been doing boxing for just a few years. All styles have their pros and cons.

      yaar khan can you shorten it

    • @zoolkhan
      @zoolkhan 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      many wing chun techniques that touch the opponents arm do so between shoulder and the ellbow. (i.e. pak-sao, tok-sao) that is one possible reason why short arms are suffcient - we just imagine that the forearm isnt there.
      We try to control the entire arm, this can only be achieved by controlling the shoulder, upper arm or ellbow, in that light touching the forearm is not as important, it would only give our opponent "impulses" he could use against us.
      I am sure my explanation is not perfect, but i think the direction is not too far off the mark.
