Jensen Mod series speakers are crazy great-sounding. If I replace speakers in any more of my amps, it will be with those. They're 25% the price of flagship Celestions, and I think they sound better.

      I agree. I'm using the 12in. 70w for my Crate Combo 2x12.

I replaced mine with an 8 ohm eminence ramrod. The speaker is so much louder and sounds soo much better. I combine the amp with a 8 ohm 15 inch big ben speaker for 50 watts and its sounds soo good!

thanks for posting. I know this is an old video but I got the mod speaker. I haven't put it in yet I was hoping to get more louder clean tones. TH-cam doesn't translate sound very well.

    P. S. You can buy this 4 Ohm speaker on Amplified Parts for less money.

I was going for Greenbacks, now I’m confused, this a is a huge improvement, although I don’t want the amp any louder! 😂

The stock speaker made the amp sound like it had a little cheap speaker with flat mids. The 4 ohm MOD just opened up the amp and added a fuller louder higher quality sound. Too bad Celestion doesn't make a 4 ohm speaker.

I was going to replace the speaker too, but I'm struggling with the problem the panel on the back and the speaker are attached and cannot be separated.
    I need your help.

I don't recall running to any problems. When I changed out the speaker it was pretty simple. Maybe they're manufacturing it different now.

Hello, half a year ago I bought Vox mini superbetle Audio (version with amplifier - bluetoth music, subwoofer knob + guitar input on the back). There is a 6.5" 4ohm / 50W speaker in the housing (+ a small tweeter) and this main speaker starts to "crackle" when playing bass music via bluetooth (while playing the guitar is OK - for now). You can put a 10" (yes like in your mini beetle version). I'm wondering why the 6.5" was inserted and whether this 10" jensen for the guitar will work well in this configuration (2 speakers) with my type of amplifier. My question because I don't know. Should I risk mounting Jensen 10" / 4 ohm 50W what do you think? - Thank you and greetings from Poland

Hi, I just found your video! I'm trying my own replacement but I can't get the original speaker out of the cabinet. Four screws are out, but it still won't budge. Is the front of the speaker glued down? I'm trying to get more leverage by removing the upper back panel (six screws) but that is sticking too. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the video. I mainly play a Strat in clean or moderate breakup for blues. Would you say the Mod is darker than the stock speaker, or more mid, more scooped, etc? Just looking for a bit of description against the stock speaker.

@@alexanderheppening sorry, I missed your first reply. The mod went well, and I've spent the last two weeks breaking in the speaker. It was super easy, and I only needed to apply a little pressure with a flathead screwdriver to remove some adhesive on the speaker cone. After that it popped right out. It really does make the amp come alive. It doesn't sound as boxy as the stock one, and I feel like I'm not relying on pedals as much to get a good sound out of my guitar. Sure, a pricy alnico speaker would probably sound better, but for $70, the Jensen Mod 10-50 is making me enjoy the Superbeetle all over again, and will likely prevent me from buying a new amp for quite some time. It gets crazy loud with the 50watt setting enabled.

@micsayre yes it does. The amp has switchable impedence 12.5 watts at 16 ohms, 25 watts at 8 ohms and 50 watts at 4 ohms.
