With its Legitimate 60s looks, the Mini Superbeetle is too cool to pass up. But it's not just about the looks - this amp packs a serious sonic punch. With Vox / Korg's Nutube technology the Mini Superbeetle is not just for beatles fans. It takes pedals extremely well and the 10 inch Celestion speaker delivers a lot of tone!
The Vox MSB25 can be shiny and chimey like an AC30 but also flat and clean like a Fender Blackface Amp. Don't be fooled by it only being 2 feet tall, this amp is a monster.

I love sharing this fact, because most owners of this amp do not know this, but when you use the headphones/line out, you can put your cable in half way and it BYPASSES THE CAB SIM!!! This is an awesome, awesome feature. It means you can record the pre amp of the amp without the cab sim, and then you can use your own cab sims/IRs!!!!

This is the amp I play 90% of the time. It's my first call at home. Not an amp expert, I just love playing through it. For comparison, I own a tweed Champ reissue, a deluxe tone master, and ac10, and the Mini Super is still my go-to. Lovely amp and I'm so happy I took a chance a few years ago. Really happy they're still making them.

I’ve had this amp for 3 1/2 years and I absolutely adore it. I have a Vox AC30 CC2X that’s just too much amp for home use. I have a small home recording studio and I record with the mini SB and it record’s extremely well. It is more than worth every cent I paid for it.

Let it be from Australia, youve sparked my interest and enjoyed catching some of ypyr videos. I a Veteran Pensioner that now live alone with service dog. play guitar and photography all I have left. but enjoyed your videos so, and a good attitude with the bits that gave me a smile. mainly Its Phil KYG, Shane in The Blues couple others. Im Ageing to fast now on way to mid 50's. I might even look mat pulling the plug on one of these, as no Vox amps yet it seems be good for my lack of sleep nights of about 1hr 30min average sleep over 7 days, so late night early morning, as was thinking of the go mini, yet some nice rounder tones opn my end especially with the Fender 61 Single coils. Have the 61 vintage white mint guard USA 2011, when you got the 5 way switch in a packet in case. as I have 5 way Strat so 61 stays as its 3 way and open bridge The 61 fender vintage coils and a .5 mfd paper oil Fender cap, I think why the bridge is playable with out ice picking as some .022 caps are..cheers. Yep the haters will hate : use what ever capacitor you want, if they don't make a difference bit like saying (TONE WOODS, Matter) Laugh My Arse Off!! the guitar sounds great soo that's all. Dont all hate me too much each to there own.

I've been trying to figure out why this amp has that INCREDIBLE sizzle when you push it to distorted levels. Especially if simply using the on-board levels to achieve distortion, there is a sizzle that rides along the edge. Some pedals get you there, too. But not all. It's probably the most incredible sound I've ever heard. Is that what a tube sounds like? That SIZZLE??! It's awesome and making me wish I had a bigger VOX nutube

  • @Papergami45

Stunned by the performance on that thing. Would happily mic that up for studio use, it's not the normal sound I aim for but it took pedals amazingly well and just sounded really pretty the whole way through. What a surprise for a mini-ish amp. Let it be.. loud!

Let it Be loud! I have had this amp ever since it came out in 2018. Really nice and I actually did gig with it - as you can go directly into the PA through the Lineout. Great amp and I compared it with my AC15 - and it definitely has the Vox genes. Though the AC15 has more low end, when you play it over the box. But the Mini Superbeetle is a small, versatile amp, great for home use and if necessary even playing live. Would not want to miss it!

Let it be...loud. Great video. Just found your channel today. I'll be visiting regularly. It's really a great amp. It was between that one and the AC10C1. I got the AC10 because there was one in stock at a local Guitar Center and the Superbeetle was backordered. My wife had seen them both and said the AC10 looked more "me" so I pulled the trigger. Have not looked back. I'll probably getting one of these soon as well. Best

I love this amp. I actually have a pair of them, which you can use 2 cabinets with one head, and I've also used both heads and cabs for stereo. And yes the Reverb is ethereal, smooth, and sounds good even with stock squire tele pickups. Plenty of power and fairly light. No regrets, highly recommend.

Wow I must say I’ve been intrigued by these unique amps since I heard other guitar players speak highly of them even though it was only a few Zi heard speak of these because most people haven’t mentioned them to me. The sounds you got were great no matter what guitar and pickups you were playing and the pedals sounded really good through the amp as well. It’s cool that the reverb and tremolo are strong as opposed to weak because it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, plus it takes pedals so we’ll that you could just use your favorite reverb and trem pedals through it instead of the ones in the amp. I’ve come to learn that tube amps are just too loud for me playing at home and it’s a waste of money for me to try and make one work. There are amazing sounding solid state amps like Boss Katana, Orange Crush and this Vox that will give you great sounds without needing to be turned up to rediculous levels or attenuated with more gear. Awesome demo and now I want to get one myself. “Let It Be…Loud!”

Andy - my love - first of all: of course I love seeing this, for all the reasons you know why. Second: your videos got really good man. You know I'm not a gear guy at all and I rarely tune into gear videos. Every now and then checking some stuff friends do, like now, and I have to say: you got it all. Love the little things like "live EQ blend ins while playing", giving your subjective opinion while pointing out THAT is a subjective opinion and stating WHY you came to that opinion, and not in nerdy tech takl ways, but in a way a "player" would talk about sound. Also I love your face, but that's neither here nor there.
Great clip. Really informative and enjoyable.

Andy, you seemed very, very excited about this amp. My girlfriend wanted me to post that it's a good thing you had a guitar in front of you because you were sounding like you were sporting some wood. Granted, with good reason though, as that is a damn fine amp, especially for the money. I've blown quite a few people away with this head alone. Took it to my guitar teacher to let him hear it, and he was blown away. Tube sound, and feel, yet it's in a box that ways less than his lunch box.
For anyone on the fence about this amp, take Andy's advice, and just buy one. If you don't like it, which I doubt, you can easily put it right back on the market, and someone else will buy it from you. This amp is a hidden gem, that can really put out some wind if you hook it up to a bigger cab/speaker. It looks top notch, and classy. It's a living room amp, it's a studio amp, and as Andy said, mic it up, and run it through a PA, and you could do a small gig with it. It takes pedals quite well, and it's quiet. No big hissing noise when you have it on.
This amp is a winner. It ticks the boxes. Get one today.

Best living room amp ever? Maybe that should be the tagline for this amp? The Vox guys really thought about this concept and said to themselves, "let it be... LOUD" and rightfully so. Loved the tones from the Stanford and some tasty licks and riffs!

I thought about using that title but it's so much more than just a living room amp.

The AC10 is also a fantastic living room amp. Honestly it's so good you could play a small gig with it and put a mic in front of it. I also think it would record wonderfully as well. I've the got the AC10 and the AC30 and love them both. These are super cool too.

Let it be! Great demonstration from yourself. Great guitarist and very informative. Thank you. But I’ll have to the amp a miss as I’m a crap guitarist been at it for over 30 years, but still can’t seem to hang up my guitar for good! 😱

I've been lucky enough to play a full size one. Imagine the sounds you've got going on with the wee one, BUT just teeth-meltingly loud. I'm not kidding, they are unbelievably loud. I played one in a decently sized church hall and it was ridiculous. tons of fun, mind. if I wasn't on an amp moratorium I'd definitely be interested in one of these... great vid! (in a bizarre coincidence we did in fact play Let it Be, loud!!!) I'm fairly sure that Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers had to stop using them live because they were too loud, but they wheeled them out on stage anyway, cos they looked cool. For my money they are THE coolest looking amp ever.

I completly agree with everything you said! Lol. My analysis is literally the same. I own a music store and recently was re visiting some fun vox stuff that kinda got overlooked. Maybe something else overshadowed it at the time in terms of advertising perhaps? I just recently reviewed the Vox Adio Air GT against the popular Yamaha THR and Vox won hands down. The sound, power and value was far superior. ...and I loved my lil Yamaha for around the kitchen/living area. (Wife territory) lol. My next deep dive was the one you just reviewed and it was very helpful and imo on point 100%. Great job. Ty.

They are so great, handle pedals wonderfully, the only downside is the speaker input jack easily breaks.

Iron Butterfly used the full size original Superbeetles as well their Guitar player Erik Brann used it combined with a Mosrite Venture’s (Aka the Mark II) and a Mosrite Fuzz to get that unique tone he had.

I’ve had one for about 2 years, love this thing. I use it for recording and rehearsing. Because it’s an open back cabinet, you can also mic the back of the speaker, just make sure to flip the phase on the back mic. Then you can mix front and back mics to taste… the tone is phenomenal. Let it be loud!

I wish they’d make this circuit into a little combo amp. I have this and my favorite amp of all time: AC15C1x. I would buy a combo version of this instantly.

Thx for this video, though the Superbeetle is not super new anymore. But I missed it somehow. I am a fan of the MV50 AC but I always thought of the MV50 to be missing some things, especially looks. And the Superbeetle has the looks and the sounds, as it seems. 👍
