Same!! I love when she do the slightly darker ones too (like good girl in the dark) but seriously she is such a master of this bubbly cute vibe it's so shiny and unique when she does it
I know nothing about Yena or this video but that was a blast! Something about squares? A lot of right angles. 8-bit sounds and the soccer ball being a square meant something. Not usually a fan of that vocal tone but there's more to this than cute and she has charisma.
This song is soooo Jpop, I think QWER have pushed the kind of Jpop sound within kpop a little bit further into the mainstream with the success of TBH. Yena's sound and aesthetic have always been very Jpop-ish to me, so this is a welcome addition to her discography and also my favorite title of hers! It reminds me a lot of this Jpop group called Dempagumi inc; if anyone wants more music like this, I can recommend the song BPM285EX! Some parts also brought me back to Orange Caramel's releases, which is always a plus!
It really does feel like a K-Pop Producer trying to reproduce something like Yoasobi music or Reol's music and turning the notch up just a lil more than usual J-Pop. it's such a good song though, and definitely favourite Yena song so far. :)
I am absolutely obsessed with this song. As someone else said, this is totally giving me 2010s Vocaloid vibes, kind of Two Faced Lovers, or LUVORATORRRRRY!. Also if anyone remembers “What is Love?” by Morning Musume 14, similar energy to this. I’m not a Yena stan, but this song makes me feel things that I usually don’t feel when listening to kpop. It really feels like Yena knows her audience and this is a solid step towards establishing herself as a risktaker amongst other soloists these days. It helps that she has the voice and visuals to pull off these sorts of songs too!
personally, I don't think it's that deep. She prob rejected him at the end coz he was not has handsome as she imagined. That's why she wanted him to keep the box on. 😂😂
I’ve never heard of Yena but this song is on repeat for me. Best j-pop sound since IDOL. (If XG can take over k-pop, I think it’s only fair if Yena becomes the next queen of j-pop.)
for me Yena somehow has always come across more j-pop like, just based on her clothing style on and off mvs and live performances and also the music she does. I have listened to kpop for almost 20 years now and j-pop and j-rock even longer but I haven't really listened to much new stuff in the past few years. Her japanese song DNA was recommended to me on some j-pop video I was watching and that was my introduction to Yena. Tbh I actually thought she was Japanese artist until I looked her up, she somehow fits the j-pop image so well.
At first listen , it right away remind me of Orange Caramel mix jpop and as i search it turn out, she really going after that 2000 kpop vibe and mention orange caramel ,tara too. I love this song and shee soo cutee also Zico took part in writing too!
the whole ep is really good! i love the jpop influence, and i think more kpop groups should go back to this sound. i think this vibe REALLY works for her, and hope she does more like this in the future :)
NEMONEMO's stage performance video is overwhelmingly much better than the MV. In the end, it became popular after 4 weeks of release and entered the chart.
I love the song! But a lot is lost in translation in the video because I couldn't read what the blackboard or smartphone said. And at first I couldn't figure out if it was a metaphor or a dating contest show. I'm sure this will be popular in Korea but I'm not sure how well it will travel overseas.
Y’all should check the intro for Ojamajo Doremi (first season) it’s literally the sameeee (I assume?) sample. Now I wish Yena had a cameo appearance in the new Doremi thing to come lol
i think she rejected him bc she found him ugly not bc he has his head on straight 😭😭 any girl would say that expression is VERY “i dont find you attractive”
This is the bubbliest and brightest K-Pop song that I've heard since Super Yuppers and I love everything about it!
Love SUPER YUPPERS :D
Plsssss I love that song so muchhh
SUPER YUPPERS MENTIONNED IN 2024?????
@@claudiaj.7011 We're still here 🙏🏻 stay strong super yuppers enjoyers
super yuppers is my fav!!
It was so jpop that I had to check if it was a Japanese release despite hearing korean words haha.
I had to confirm that too 😅. Same with songs from QWER.
Me tooo
i’m a big jpop fan (prior to getting into kpop) so nemonemo was WAY up my alley, such a great comeback from yena 🧡
The melody is giving vocaloid song for me, been obsessed with it since first listen ❤️
As a massive vocaloid/utaite fan since my middle school years, i was soooo happy ❤😊
pinocchioP, that's the specific vocaloid producer i think of with this high octane super bubbly instrumental.
EXACTLY
@@titansaint literally "all I need are the things I like" coded
A lot of old school kpop use to sound like that actually
13:42 권태기 is not a name but rather means a period in the relationship where both parties are bored or even sick of each other.
Interesting!
This is exactly what I’ve been missing in Kpop, easily my favorite 2024 release
Samee
SAME
heavy agree!
Yena rejuvenates kpop with jpop vibes, and I’m all for it.
Next to 'Smiley,' this is my favorite song. Both the concept and style highlight Yena's uniqueness. It's unmistakably Yena's song! 🐥💛
Same!! I love when she do the slightly darker ones too (like good girl in the dark) but seriously she is such a master of this bubbly cute vibe it's so shiny and unique when she does it

i’m taking notes as we speak
Good point, some may not know that the writers for NemoNemo also composed most of QWER's songs, thats why they have the same vibes

Still let people run with their theories because this MV and comeback deserves people thinking about it for being so good.

NEMO NEMO SIGN 🫦🫦
NEMONEMO's stage performance video is overwhelmingly much better than the MV. In the end, it became popular after 4 weeks of release and entered the chart.
I just love your explanation. Now I can understand the MV's story!😂
THIS IS INCREDIBLE OMFG
bro you looking good, also this bangs
reminds me a little bit of eurobeat so i’ll def be adding this to my driving playlist
Omg when I ear this song I was really thinking to J-pop but not is K-pop and I love it !
it's similar to Catch You - P.O.P. love it!
now this is so fun
Prismfilter dropping all jpop coded songs to Yena and QWER, this song had 3 co composer who worked in QWER albums.
Check out her bside song too sugar and it was love all song she have this album has no skips
I love the song! But a lot is lost in translation in the video because I couldn't read what the blackboard or smartphone said. And at first I couldn't figure out if it was a metaphor or a dating contest show. I'm sure this will be popular in Korea but I'm not sure how well it will travel overseas.

Yes! Between this and QWER I hope this is a trend!
Glad you liked it so much LOL. This is such a funny music video 😂😂😂❤
Lolll the "Why?? Why???? Why?????" Was hilarious
I loved the Jpop Feel! Does being a "square" have a different meaning in korea then it does in the US?
I can also hear same element of QWER - Discord
They have the same producer
im in relationship with this song :)
안경이 네모네모~ㅋ
i think she rejected him bc she found him ugly not bc he has his head on straight 😭😭 any girl would say that expression is VERY “i dont find you attractive”

Even I was wondering why Park Myung Soo was there 🤣
Will you be reacting to Hwasa’s latest comeback as well?
the song was so catchy but the lyrics are abt toxic relationship 😢
I haven’t watch you in a while. Wow you lost a lot of weight and look so much younger. I almost thought it was a different person.
