yves revealed in a fancall that it was called viola because when the song had no name, millic (her producer/ceo i think) suggested the name viola because the viola/violet flower represents yves well
I completely agree that Yves is just simply cool. Her music direction is so creative and fun, I honestly can't think of anyone like her currently in kpop or even western music.
I'll never not want OT12, but Yves couldn't show this side to her in any sort of group. It feels very authentic to her without being held to the girl group "idol" standards. Literally couldn't be prouder! 🥹❤
frr like despite how sad everything was, im glad it happened in the end bc it's given the girls a chance to explore themselves nd make the kind of music they want to, solo or group
Whoever produced this song, literally did a phenomenal job like the Sophie samples are everything. Sophie did a couple of K-pop songs before she passed so to hear it still be referenced to this day is phenomenal.
Yves says its hyperpop inspired! She really likes the genre & her song recs involve a lot of hyperpop and sort of y2k vibes? Some artists she's recced include PinkPantheress, Magdalena Bay's Imaginal Disk and Lexie Liu. I honestly didn't think I'd like it because Normally I'm not a huge hyperpop fan. And i thought i didn't like it byt the first time I heard it, I had to realistem to it over and over. Like I was just hooked, I wanted to keep turning it over when normally I'm TOO quick to judge and drop songs, even from other LOONA groups. Her discog really feels like its got that auteur's touch (and strong non idol dna) that makes me want to keep listening.
wait a second - the last minute of the video when you mentioned the song being "freeing" and "cathartic", reaally reminded me of the exact emotions i felt (and still feel) when i listened to new for the first time. my absolute favorite loona solo, now also releasing my favorite post-loona music what a crazy full-circle moment
Even the vector scenes are SUUUPER early 2000’s. The panning shots of a desert with graphics overlayed. Like, so many artists recorded MVs in the desert back then lol.
for me this comeback blew LOOP out of the park, and thats a massive compliment bc loop was already wonderful. this album is on repeat. and i cant wait for her next comeback, because I just know she’s gonna keep topping herself. and on that note, loossemble disbanding. i dont think they’re gonna join into full loona just yet, mainly because the way yves talked about a 3rd comeback sounded like she wants to do it soon. but maybe they’ll use a NCT or tripleS system, where they do solo albums, group and subunit albums all intermittently
Yves comeback schedule is definitely really good and very well produced that she's literally just making sure she doesn't Miss anything with her career as a whole artist and Performer
3:58 LMAOO I just watched your Misamo video before seeing this one and how you got faked out thinking that the outro was a bridge absolutely killed me lol
This is a great follow up after loop storytelling wise too! She was in a loop before that made her feel lost (yet she liked it) but i think in viola she eventually felt too confined and knows she cant stay in the loop anymore. i also think the loop gave her comfort as well but she couldn’t grow in it. so she made the decision to leave out of it. I think that’s where the album title “i did” comes in. “I did” is very confident and decisive in its phrasing. She is making decisions now, she is her own person and she has confidence and knows that she can do what she wants and she doesn’t have to stay trapped a cycle anymore! Yves is tired of the place she’s been in, what others think and i think that what makes the ending shot so powerful. She leaves the truck. She leaves the suffocating space/loop she was in. She’s always had the power to. Once she realizes she always had that, she makes a big decision for herself, and her mind! I also love how the “space” and the “loop” is ambiguous/vague in nature to the point where everyone can connect their own struggles to her songs. We’ve all been in a loop and we’ve all been tired of it and needed space. And i feel like yves is telling us, “ik how you feel, I’ve been there before and you can break out of the loop too and get the space you need!” And i know i needed this song and the courage to the space i needed too! And i love the burning brain imagery because it looks like spirals and most people (and from personal experience) who are in a loop and are doing the same things over and over again can spiral/go insane. It’s also relatable too cause ik the feeling she’s talking about lol
Queen needs some space. This song and just everything about her album is amazing. I know she just released Viola but I honestly can't wait for her next release
I love everything about this release and I can’t stop listening to this song. I’m super excited to buy the album! I wish Yves tremendous success, as she continues to make her own path 🫶
Yves' music and creative direction is my favorite among the post-BBC projects. It's the type of aesthetic and sound I usually listen to outside of kpop, so as an orbit, her music is everything I'd hoped it'd be. She never disappoints!
Yves and her music are becoming more and more attractive and stylized. BTW, that thing is just a chrome plastic grille that is placed under certain neon ceiling lamps.
I'm still kinda mad that they used AI for some parts of the MV, specially knowing how artistic that company seems to be (they made a full stop motion visualizer for one of her bsides in her debut, be for real). Like I'm just mad bcs I know they can do better and this song and the album in general deserve it
rewatching this with you i just realised that in the scene that she holds a phone with an image of a butterfly, there are pictures of flowers in the background (and the name of the song is viola). maybe the message is "life and living things cannot be controlled"????
Its OK, not as good as her first production, she needs to push more eurodance into the mix plus hyper pop and techno. She can dance with the best in the biz she needs to capitalize on that.
yves revealed in a fancall that it was called viola because when the song had no name, millic (her producer/ceo i think) suggested the name viola because the viola/violet flower represents yves well
and the flower represents lesbians (not even joking)
i did not know that, aw that's so cool
Your info is so lost media tbh. How do people even find this out if they’re not diehard enough? 🥲

Her artistry is in the same league as Lexie Liu, yaeji and Audrey Nuna

magdalena bay and lexie liu makes SOOOO much sense
Yeah it’s why I love it. I can’t get enough hyperpop
couldn’t have said it better 👏🏻
It’s funny you mentioned the old iPhone, Yves still carries around a really old model just for photos
Yves is killing it so hard, her creative team love her and it’s so great.

I bow down to this song, A LOT. Yves is killing it, company is doing good so far, discography is impressive.

The way i moaned when that beat dropped within the first second of the video starts is insane. Oh Yves the ARTISTÉ that you are.
such an amazing EP 🔥

I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR REACTION TO THIS! She’s incredible and her music will continue to get better with time
This is the best breakdown of the song I've seen so far, MV included. PD may not upload as regularly as we'd like, but very often it's worth the wait.
sorry I was sick :0 I'm glad it was worth the wait for you!!

They already used AI on the debut's photobook. Unfortunately AI seems to be very popular with the Korean creatives
@haseulmybeloved1134 I know but I was mostly referring MV wise. I truly hope this AI fashion stops, is so meh and we don't get anything good from it
Omg where? I’m normally really good at spotting it but not here
