This is AWESOME Ethan that you have your own channel . I've been following Bill since his beginning and so looking forward to following your channel also.. Best of luck can't wait to see more content
I’ve been followed Bill for years and I think it’s awesome you started your own Channel. You both keep it real and genuine. Don’t ever change that formula. You are real hunters talking to other real hunters. Excited to see how the plot turns out.
We need more of this down to earth regular joe type of hunting content lik you and Bill do!! Dont get me wrong i enjoy watching Drurys and midwest whitetail n such but there is somethin refreshing about watching you guys doing what most guys could do if they really wanted to... good work!!
@@alexfrazier88definitely. It lays East to west, so sunlight shouldn’t be an issue. I have a few other East to west plots that I’m going to put into brassicas this summer.
@@ethan_stubbs That’ll be a cool test with the other plot laying out close to the same way. Have you decided what brassica mix you’re going to use yet ?
I've been doing plots for over 20 years. In regards to 1st year clover, I've had great success overseeding year 1, before a snow. I recommend atleast 2X seed rate. Also be sure to fertilize with Potash when you can and lime won't hurt either. It looks like a killer spot.
I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out. It is already a killer spot, so I'm hoping the food will be another piece of the puzzle next fall. Thanks for watching!
Nice job for your first plot. The issue you will have is those weeds that get 10 feet tall will overtake the clover. It's best to frost seed when you had a bare plot leading into winter a previous plot of brassica that died off. Good work, it's trial and error. Talk to Bill about what I said.
Absolutely. If nothing else, I may be able to get my hands on a tiller and a drill and plant a fall plot down there. With it laying east to west, I think I will get enough sunlight to the soil to grow brassicas at least.
You’ll be good. You can do two rounds of Cleth if need be for grass and Butyrac 200 for broadleaves. Also fill in the gaps with cheap berseem which comes up very quick. In the end you have a great white clover stand
I have always frost seeded my clover and have had great plots from doing so! I use the Extreme Blower Products seeder. It looks like a paintball gun hopper and it attaches to the tube of your leaf blower. It has a "gate" for adjusting the seed flow rate. I am able to seed an acre of ground in less than ten minutes using this seeder. I jump in my SXS, with the leaf blower in my lap and drive around my plot with the leaf blower running at idle speed. It takes more time filling the hopper than it does to put the seed out!
I have been trying to minimize pressure as of now. I need to go in there and mow it. We have had a lot of rain so getting down there may be tricky. Thanks for watching!
Ethan great seeing your own channel!! Cool trick, next time take your side by side and drag an piece of chain link fence or a wood pallet to create your seed bed works great
That’s a great idea. There was quite a bit of steel in that plot, so I decided against driving around in there. A little manual labor won’t hurt. Thanks for watching!
Ethan, I know you are a Nebraska football fan, if you are ever in the Grand Island, NE area I'd love to show you around my place and the things we have done.
Go Big Red first and foremost! We go to Nebraska every year for turkey opener. Next time I swing through I’ll look you up. A lot of my family is from the Kearney area. Thanks for watching!
Soil Sample will help tremendously!! You add whatever fertilizer and pellet lime easily with a bag spreader. Backpack sprayer with Clethodim and you’ll be rockin’
nice
Thanks for watching !
Dream Big brother 🙏

I'm going to start using MonsterBuck Seed and their blends. Sounds like they're the real deal.

Fun project, make it bigger, it will be theee destination
That’s the plan. I’m hoping to add a few different options for food in that area.
That comeback kid is some great stuff. I put in a couple jugs of it. Good luck Ethan! Good to see youth getting out and carrying on tradition!

Drive over the seeds with atv to help with seed to soil contact before leaving.

Better lime it too
Absolutely, I may try a few different lime solutions. It will be interesting to see what works the best

When do you spray with clethodim?
@@harrisonnelson1064 When grass starts popping up in your clover. Also been told a light dose of Roundup will kill other weeds but not your clover.
