    I have had this injection done by my hand surgeon today on my left thumb and it is the 3rd time that I have had him do this over several years. Initially my doctor X rayed the hand and determined the location of both the inflammation and the site of his injection. He typically begins by topically numbing the injection site with a cold spray and then inserts the needle. In all honesty I felt no pain and the end result is a joint that is more pain free afterwards

    oh what a crime. it is widely known among surgeons and orthopedists that this technique is not a solution for long term. it is just making easy money for the doctors like neil. tell us neil, did you operate that patient a year later? i bet you did a bit stem cell injections for more easy money and then convinced the patient for interposition. i would be impressed if you are able to do suspensionoplasty, then i ll call you a formidable surgeon.

    • @anifler

      Medical student here: Do you have any data on the outcome of Suspensionplasty useing an APL graft. im currious. Thank you and regards from Austria!

    • @BT-km7nl
      @BT-km7nl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anifler i don’t have the data but you know the answer already. maximum dorsiflexion will be impossible with apl graft. whichever tendon you use the answer is simple, you lose some ability. from all the readings i read, the only viable option is mini tight rope IF the patient does not produce a foreign material reaction or other way is massive physiotherapy to strengthen the surrounding muscles. D vitamin depo injection is also a way but risky. you don’t want super high Ca levels and mess up with pth which makes the patient clinically insane.

    • @BT-km7nl
      @BT-km7nl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@anifler if you want to be a ground breaking in this field, focus on how we can build up the native cartilage or grow it in vitro and in situ and you will just have a nobel price. there are promising tests done by merck in 2020 which managed to grow cartilage in knees but not only specific to a knee but on whole body which sounds like gambling. they couldn’t fix the pain though after growing the cartilage.

    • @BT-km7nl
      @BT-km7nl 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@anifler another thing is that start learning to play piano and understand the limitations for a pianist. for example, none of the tests for suspensionoplasty addresses the flexing of a thumb on z-axis. a patient or a human rarely streches the thumb on z axis so focus on why that is harder with suspensionoplasty.
