- Today we are taking a look at the Haida the first Canadian ship to come to world of warships legends. She is available in the shop as part of the D-Day event

As a Canadian, and someone who visited Haida this past Saturday and bought this ship from the game store, I'm so glad my country is getting represented, but I wish the Circumstances were better. Haida maintaining a lot of British traits and maintaining the uptier is okay to me, as Haida was a Hand-Me-Down to Canada, and also Haida is VERY large for a Destroyer, like a Commonwealth Elbing. We are VERY proud of her!!
Haida in game is make-or-break for now till she gets a dedicated Commander, but Murray still has some tools on the table. Spec into Reload and Ship HP and you should do well. On Murray, run Ruchang (Pan-Asia Reload commander) and either Charles Madden, or William Sims. That should get you SOLID reload, and help Haida use her good HE And AP Pen to crank out some damage, and survive brawls with the likes of ZF6 and Friesland (Maybe on that last one, lol).
Overall, I think Haida is SOLID, but she can only improve from here. Give it a few months, and Haida will be a T7 MENACE, and people will wish they grabbed her here.

We're Canadians, at this point we're used to be screwed over so go figure. I love that they finally added her to the game but she hasn't been given due credit having seen the most action and kills out if any Canadian warship. @wargaming can we do better? Dedicated commander. Better sonar. Really have her stand out from both Cossack variations being a tier higher.
Good for getting in spotting range of enemy dds. Pop the smoke and sonar, creep and rush, spam guns and say bye to the other dd.
I'm very happy with Haida. For me it's a epic ship. I have good games with it and lots of fun. Very impressed. Definitely needs a destroyer commander Like Henry Dewolf who commanded Haida in WW2. They could even do a make believe commander for now because there are legal things involved for a real commander and it takes time.

honestly dont think a dd commander would save it much .. i think it should've been a gxp ship tbh

Oneof the benefits of that smoke. Since it has a long duration, you can spot the dds and usually they smoke up immediately. You then use your smoke to break any initial spotting. Most cruisers and bbs stay back so the only one who can spot is the dd... who just smoked up. Throw haida at full speed, pop a sonar, get in range and bring her back to 1/4 speed. Murderize victim and then take the cap.
Hey all, I’d like to make a correction about the Haida’s tier, it is a Tier 7 not 6 on. So it is not up tiered compared to PC. On top of that it also is the stealthiest gunboat destroyer at the tier , only Japanese Destroyers beat it. In which case the ship can easily beat it in a gun fight. It also means it can dictate the engagement on its own terms which is vital for any ship, for capping and spotting as well as when to pick a fight. Not to discredit its known weakness’, which was already brought up. That said it does need a commander to bring out its best.
I think it's really shameful that WG released Haida in this state -- up-tiered and without a proper destroyer skipper. It's a really great, historic ship, has been requested for literally years, and it's a source of national pride for so many Canadians. It deserves to be really good. Instead, it feels like WG went for a cash grab and hung a lot of players out to dry on this one.
Nothing really to add, just piling on, but WeeGee knows this is a poor practice. It’s not the first time they’ve been weird about rolling out a commander for a specific boat they are selling for real money, I honestly just thought they would have learned from past errors… but I guess not.
Feels like they added it to the wrong tier and too far into our power creep. It's at 6 on PC and has been on there for many years. Our game is stacked with really good T7 premium DDs. Somers for example which is a T10 on PC and T7 in our game for some reason with basically no changes. Combine that with poor balance of the Tribal DDs. WG gives us horrible gun angles so they can have "enhanced AA" but then still makes the AA dogshit. Makes perfect sense. Honesty I just feel helpless in it.
