Important detail, it's rare for mob to get as emotional as he was at the end of the episode without triggering a 100% explosion, he's clearly controlling it better.
@@dillonmackay683 He got rid of all this energy but ofc, it starts to grow back again bc it's powered by emotions. It's like if you have a mental breakdown but then you go to sleep and all of this calms down but eventually, the emotions rise again and if you have the habit of bottling them down then you do it just like Mob. So when he was sleepy and he passed out, it was 0% but in his bed it was probably 2% or smth around it bc emotions came back. He didn't jump right to 100% and that shows that he is able to control or express this sadness in better way, without destroying anything around. In season 1 ep 5 it was 100% sadness, here he just cries himself to sleep :(

Rewatching, I realized that when Mob has flashbacks to the people who commented on his shirt, it’s not just about the shirt, but the fact that he was recognizing the people that cared about him enough to comment on his shirt. In doing so, he realizes that Dimple is another one of these people who truly cares about him. What an extremely bittersweet ending…
It’s because Dimple was the only one who was truthful with Mob about the shirt (except Teru but his fashion sense is questionable xD) everyone else was silent about how awful the shirt is but Dimple was honest :>
@@damiester1 Well, Reigen clearly acted like being aware that the shirt sucks, Ritsu too... it's just Dimple who wasn't afraid to bluntly confirm how terrible it is.
@@8bitbee148 I thought Teru was pranking him or something, because he usually dresses well. I mean, what he was wearing when he and Mob started talking was fine.
@@bLuGhOsT_ Yeah, but Dimple mostly likes to go through windows. It's shown in an episode where instead of going though the wall, Dimple went the long way through the open window, past Ritsu
The realization that what Dimple wanted all along was not godhood but companionship and just had a warped view of attaining it. Can’t believe I’m crying over a stupid little snot ball
I was so sad at this ending. I have no clue if it's the last time we see Dimple but this was a great episode. This relationship between Dimple and Mob was so weird but the fact that they understood each other in the end is just amazing.
I want to point out that Mob not only looked back to Dimple (while under hypnosis), but he did it TWICE and it was with Dimple's reassurance that Mob was able to keep walking. This also implies that Mob has a strong sense of self, as explained in earlier episodes how it was more difficult for some type of people to come under the hypnosis. Little things like this is why the show and writing is so good.
This show is one of the best of all time. This episode broke my heart, and Mob Choir cannot be overhyped with their multiple endings per season. Exist, just from the title alone and the fact that it played in the episodes where Mob enters and exits the broccoli, is just so well done and poetic. Dimple’s reason to exist is found through Shigeo’s utter kindness and belief in him, and it fuels him to carry out Shigeo’s goal so that Shigeo can accomplish his dream. Dimple gives up his dream for Mob’s, in a sense. I bawled my eyes out in season 2 and this season even more so.
Genuinely cannot handle how it goes so abruptly from sobbing to oh yeah here’s a preview of funny slice-of-life aliens episode. It’s sudden mood changes feel a bit more natural than I’d think though. Super hyped to see the next little side quest animated. I absolutely love this show
This episode legit got me emotional. I had a feeling something crazy was gonna happen ain’t no way it was gonna be smooth sailing after mob and dimple settled things. Glad to see that Mob Psycho was trending on Twitter today because of this episode.
Dimple said Mob will grow up as a man, and one of the biggest passage of growth into adulthood is true loss. Isn't a famous quote saying the greatest love is the act of laying down one's life for a friend?
2:45 Teru absolutely thought the shirt looked good. If you look at official art, 90% of the time he’s wearing the worst clothes to exist with full confidence
It's kinda like Dimple was having a midlife (or afterlife) crisis. He felt like he was going nowhere, thought about the dream he gave up on and tried to clutch it tightly in fear. As though he would have nothing without it. Mob helped him remember why he threw that dream away - and more importantly, why he never needed it to be whole.
I did think Mob might diffuse the situation and get through to Dimple, because that really is his greatest power (just like Ritsu, it would've been easy for ONE to do the trope of brother vs brother but nope, Mob's sheer niceness and empathy totally subverted an entire potential plotline), but I did NOT expect the rest. Dimple - the little green blob that made my eyes malfunction. Probably the most moving scene ONE has ever written and well done Studio Bones for executing it so beautifully.
What most people doesn't realise is that Dimple always wanted someone within his life. He just thought by becoming everyone god he will achieve that. It's his ego that couldn't accept that. He thought too full of himself. In this episode both Mob and Dimple got out of their high horse and Dimple realised that he already achieved what deep down he always wanted.
Honestly I headcanon that Teru had to live alone from a really young age because of being hunted by Claw, so that’s why he has an absolutely terrible fashion sense
This is just my take but I think what dimple really wanted was to be acknowledged from the beginning. Being a god was just one way of doing it. Being trusted as a friend is another.
Dimple did want to be acknowledged and mob acknowledged him as his friend which fulfilled his goal and he was content with it, in a way they were grateful for each other
It's the classic tale of someone who only whished to be loved and accepted, but goes about it the wrong way. He thought being adored as a god was the way to do it, but only Mob's genuine and truly unconditional friendship made him understand. I've been wondering how Dimple came to be..was he a spirit born from the wishes and feeling of the people? Or how tragic was his death for him to wander as a ghost with the unfulfilled wish to be loved? If he doesn't come back, i hope he's at least in peace
This episode is gonna be the key moment in Mob's growth. That last explosion of power Mob did was actually trust at 100%. He finally realizes that Dimple was an important friend who isn't afraid to ground him and say his mind even if it hurts him. As they say, it's only when they're not there do we realize how important they were to us.
Yeah, in the end Dimple really acted like a true God would, by saving Mob and other people and sacrificing himself to do it ;) I wasn't even thinking about it in this way but it makes total sense. And Mob is the one who managed to bring the best out of him. These characters are so admirable...
Dimple's character arc though, I did not see it coming and it hurts knowing that underneath all that scheming... He just wanted his existence to be acknowledged and having a friend in Mob was enough [SAD].
Wholesome but also sadness, cause in the end Dimple was able to control Mob but instead of using him, it was to protect his one and only friend so he could be safe.
I bawled over this episode on my lunch break from work. Got blindsided by an unexpectedly emotional episode. Also the visuals and score are PEAK. This episode is a masterpiece.
Extremely well adapted by BONES Studio. I think it exceeded the source material in terms of emotion. One of the best episodes of MP100 and easily the best episode of anime this season.
I was not prepared to be so emo... dimple for sure is a g. "When in doubt, throw em into space" I feel like dimple will be back after he's done handlin that broccoli business.
Even talk no jutsu is nice even after its repetitiveness , if executed sincerely with solid foundations. 'The bad guy didn't want to rule over the world but just needed a friend' rhetoric was also used here , but the way it's used doesn't seem forced at all. I think it worked because Mob wasn't just randomly saying that , we passed two seasons witnessing the good/true side of Dimple.
After that every first big problem on every season of mob psycho was from mob's issues with his closest person. Season 1 with ritsu, season 2 with reigen, and now season 3 with ekubo/dimple
9:27 "How the heck is he gonna get out of this?" Dimple: * _proceeds to get out_ * (when _that_ BGM starts playing, you just know that *SHIT'S GOING DOWN.*) i feel like he'd come back... he will... right?
No disrespect but you can’t say “Not like this” dimple was literally trying to find a purpose and he realized that mob was truly his friend too late, dimple being a spirit he went out in the most epic way.
Hopefully Dimple can still comeback even "if" he died then and there because he already defied death once before anyways when Hanazawa Teruki exorcised him way back in season one when Dimple tried to protect Mob from Teru. I know that was a different case but maybe Dimple could still pull it off.
wait i saw in season 3 trailer mob piss off, but i thought he pissed because of dimple death (i predicted it cause it's regular anime plot) but he's not. then what make mob go (???) in the trailer then? is there any clue manga readers? why mob go (???) unless cause of dimple death?
