    Thanks for this video! I'm currently confronting challenging thoughts about what to do with my life. I'm currently studying and working but none of these things feel correct nor make me happy.
    Sometimes asking God what to do calms me but I am also in my humanity getting desperate because I'm not happy with this career/job I'm having.
    Praise the Lord for this amazing video.

    "Who are you sweet God and Who am I?"
    Did it ever occur to you to look into God's Word (the Bible) for the answer? It never ceases to amaze me that in almost all the Catholic programs I have seen, God's Word is almost never mentioned. His Word should be our first and primary source and you did not mention it even once. Amazing!!!
    In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God...
    In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
    John 1:1‭-‬2‭, ‬4‭-‬5
    "and the darkness did not comprehend it..."
    How very true

      Mostly a difference in emphasis. The Bible is rich, it's God's revalations told to us in a multifaceted rich tapestry, unfathomably deep with layers upon layers of meaning and context and complexity, much like the reader receives it through the unfathomably deep lens of their psyche, life experience after life experience, good and bad, personal strengths and weaknesses, cultural lenses and language barriers. We believe that God doesn't just give His word to us, He interprets His word more and more throughout our lives through His relationship with us, and His relationship with His Church. We believe that through His molding of us to understand what we read more perfectly, He resolves in us a more and more perfect image of Himself. We believe God gives so much more than just the book to read, He gives the light to read by, the dictionary to look up unfamiliar words, the reading glasses, the ambience for reading, etc. So you find Catholics often talking about their reading glasses rather than the book they are reading. It's a valid conversation, and the glasses are a gift from God to better read and understand His Word. We have a lot to talk about, that is why there is less emphasis on the Bible. All of this stuff is Biblical at its root, so Biblical that we often don't even feel the need to point it out to each other because we know deeply, we're steeped in the Scriptural roots of how we understand our lives, rituals, beliefs, relationships, it's truly in everything.

    • @mattandriolli
      @mattandriolli 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our primary source is tradition, not the scriptures. The scriptures are nothing without the church's tradition, they wouldn't even exist.

    I have questioned myself, "who really am I?". I wanted to be as good, as kind, as generous as possible but all I can see through myself sometimes are quite the opposite (which makes me guilty). I oftentimes see myself unconsciously immersed in "bad habits/addiction". Does that reflect who I really am or is it just being part of being me as a human?

    • @jaxhea777_
      @jaxhea777_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s never a bad thing to be aware of your weaknesses. You say “unconsciously,” which makes me think of what St. Paul states in Romans 7: 14-25. He writes about the internal conflict of willing to do what is good, but unwillingly doing what is evil. A lot of the time, evil tends to rear its ugly head when we’re trying our best to follow God, because Satan wants us to fall away. And to answer your question about who you are, first and foremost you are a child of God, and nothing in this world can change that fact. To fight against bad habits/addiction, I would recommend praying daily the Rosary, if you don’t already. If that seems impossible, start with maybe three Hail Mary’s a day, or a single decade of the Rosary. And another prayer that is a big help is the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I pray that you keep on fighting the good fight :)

      You make who you are by what you think. The Lord gives us all the option to know what this is. Psalm 23:7 and Romans 12:2. Love = respect. God is love 1 John 4:16. Therefore HE respects YOU. What do you want to bear fruit in? What does it mean to live a fruitful life? Let him who has ears, hear....do you believe Him?

  • @mloresto80
    @mloresto80 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    First, I want to say that I love you so please do not take this harshly. Discernment is the ability to judge what is wrong or right. I understand that we can receive guidance from the Lord, but I feel that you need to explain the importance of using it. I believed that the path I was on was the Lord’s discernment for me. I always wanted to heal like the holy people I have heard about. It was why I was so excited for my confirmation. However the church doesn’t teach you what to do after confirmation, so when I was older and found there was a class to learn how to do healings, I took it. I felt it was the Lord’s discernment for me, because I always wanted to help someone feel better. It led me into New Age. By the grace of the Holy Spirit, I recognized my mistake 4yrs later and returned to my bible. I learned the hard way how to use discernment because I always went where I thought the Lord had willed. It’s great to speak about the Lord’s guidance, it’s very special. Just please touch on how to use the discernment in the sense of knowing when to say no to situations that might seem like a “god-send.” I don’t want someone else to go looking for answers because they thought it was apart of their “path” of life. New Age is a slippery slope, I’m very grateful that the Holy Spirit called me from that philosophy. I am only bringing this up because you have such a large audience, I don’t want someone to misunderstand what discernment means to do and why it’s so special when it comes from God and not from yourself. Thank you and God Bless

    We need to be careful from putting on cloaks representing goodness to be goodness in God’s eyes and ears. The story is that the child knew God’s secret but was prevented from telling the Sister the secret because she did not have ears. What was the sister discernment?

    • @ImpressionismYAY
      @ImpressionismYAY 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Look at Sister's veil - it covers her ears so it looks like she (and by extension, the other sister in her convent) has no ears at all. That's what the kid found so funny - the veil hiding the ears. It was just a story of a kid's silly fun used to illustrate part of the process of discernment - there was no actual direction from God involved in the story.

    So one time Mother Mary and Jesus were in heaven and Mary said to Jesus why didn't u ever put down in the bible how you got in a street fight with the devil and you punched him so much until he fainted and was bleeding so much and after u raped him not even all da deciples could take you off until ur father Joseph came. You know Joseph was a carpenter so he was a strong dude. And Jesus said it was God my creator father. And Mary said why to God da father and he said he had it coming to him, he had me hunger for forty days in the desert.

    You say the priest needed to tell the woman who did not speak English that the words on her shirt indicating she was bad did not represent her inner character. Why did the priest need to correct words she wore as long as God knew she was good?
    The priest was worried about other people’s perceptions of a foreign woman who didn’t speak our language and intruded with judgment simply based in English characters printed on her shirt 👚. You should ask yourself these questions and include another. who needed a lesson in learning respect?✊.

    I just live to survive like 90% of the humans. People just go to work as slaves for corporations and then eat and sleep and repeat. There is no big secret with this life. We are just bio-robots with a bad programming... Truth is there is nothing magical or divine. It's all just a way to escape the hardships of this cruel existence. I just woke up from the lies of religions and philosophies. Ukraine war helped me see the true human nature: we are beasts ready to unleash the darkness when conditions are met like a war
