- I apologise for the constant black screens in this video, I have no idea why they are there as I have edited this video in the same way as I always do. They weren’t apparent during the editing process and I can only assume this is a technical glitch during upload. I do hope it didn’t spoil your viewing experience.
This weeks challenge for the ‘Repeat After me Prompt’ is Abstract. I’ve created this piece on a sheet of A3 (11.7 x 16.5”) mixed media paper (169lb/250gsm). The drop/under paper is simply a piece from a roll of kids craft paper (coper quality paper).

I did it! I watched this video and did my very first Nina Ribena prompt! I did a "real page", a "wipe up page, and a gelli print as I used my gel plate as an artist's palette! I just love, love,love it! Thank you SO much Nina! 😍

I’ve set a goal today. To grab some paint and paper and just GO for it. It’s Mother’s Day 2020 (in the states) and quarantine. Who would of ever thought those words would be used in the same sentence? Always enjoy watching you create. Thank you. And Happy Mother’s Day.

Brilliant, Nina and sits very well with our Rejuvenate ! next month - shapes and pattern. And, don't know whether anyone else thinks this, but I kept saying to myself, 'NINA, WATCH YOUR SLEEVE !' ..............
You made 3 great art piece , I love the homemade stencils , It's amazing what you find to create pattern when you look . My favorite is an empty spool of thread looks like a cog or wheel.

Thanks so much Annie. To achieve the amount of layers and interest that is in this piece, it is time consuming. But by scanning and having copies made, these Masterboards can be used for many projects for years to come. Happy Creating 💕

I like that you can still see the first layer of paint you put down when you were all finished. This reminds me of a master board. It’s been a few years since I’ve made one, but so fun to do.

The white elements seem to float over the darker background. I just love how you feel so free to use all thes colors. I am still stuck using one color family, but I have started adding one color from the opposite side of the color wheel all because of you! I think my favorite is the scrap painty paper with the most yellow. Yellow isn’t a color I’m drawn to normally but that page with its white space is so cool! Thanks so much for the inspiration! Love this! Thanks for showing! I also agree about the black screens...I watch videos just before falling asleep and wow it was rough going from bright to dark and back to bright. But I still love seeing you work.,,I am truly inspired.
Hi Kiki. The black screens were not intentional. This master board took me a couple of hours to create, and I spent a long time editing the video to omit the boring bits that no one wants to watch. I edited this video in exactly the same way as all of my others and have never experienced the black screens between clips before. I can only assume this is an iMovie glitch. My apologies.

Absolutely beautiful! I just might have the courage to attempt this! I thought the black screen was time out to take a break, wash tools, gather supplies.
So glad this has inspired you to give it a try. I have absolutely no idea why the black screen kept appearing. I always piece together many short clips to remove all the repetitive bits, and as you say where I’ve turned the camera off to take a break or wash tools etc... but it usually pieces together seamlessly. Thankfully it was a one off and it’s not happened again since. Such a shame, but hey ho! 💕
