I love dentritic printing. That black card stock😍 immediately got me thinking of the beautiful Christmas cards those could make with the right color card/paint combo. Even a pearly white on blue would be beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing, Nina!
Mono printing is so much fun and the dendritic type makes very interesting branch patterns. I haven’t tried it using black paper! Yours turned out gorgeous 😘
this is lovely on the last one you did in the glass frame it is like a winter theme where snow has fallen on trees branches and the back ground is a night theme ...love it
Wow! What an easy but effective technique and a great way of making different backgrounds. I must say I like the first one you did best as I loved the green, it was so delicate and pretty. xx
Yes, those are my favourite ones too as well as the green ones at the beginning. Happy Creating! I’m sure you will love experimenting with your paints this month 💕
They are beautiful Nina, this looks like fun. I will be raiding the cupboard later to see what I have to use. Thanks I look forward to seeing what you do with them. Have a great day.
Lovely dendritic mono prints. I love this technique. It's great for a quick card background. Beautiful. Looking forward to seeing what you create with them. Thanks for sharing 💗
I haven't made dendritic prints in a long while. I'm so glad you reminded me to make some more. The metallic prints on black are very striking. I'll be trying some later today. Blessings & hugs, Shell
Thank you so much Nina, that’s really really awesome. I really really love 💕 those prints on black paper by far the best. I have two place mats for my dendritic printing and I’ve not done anything for a few years, so I’ve been inspired to try this out. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
What a wonderful technique! I can't wait to try this out with some of the surfaces and papers that I have in my studio. I love all types of printmaking so I really appreciate you introducing me to this idea.
Stunning! What a great technique and such varied results. I would be interested to see how the final prints with the black card and arteza pearl paints scan into the computer and print out. This month is going to be epic! Thanks Nina. 💕💫
Thanks Debbie. I’m really excited to see what everyone comes up with this month. I will definitely try scanning the metallic ones in. Have a wonderful week 😘💕
Love the black one the best they great will have to have a go. Iwould use some dies to cut butterfly and dragonfly out of them . But o ones which as most tuxture just outter frame. Just lovely.
Oooh I love this! I saw Shannon green do this years ago and I’ve loved it ever since! I found the different materials you’ve used interesting, and so were the results. The black prints are stunning!
What fabulous results. I've tried this once and I do believe it was a success, it might well have been when Cat Hand did it, but I can't for the life of me remember what I did it with lol. I've given hubby his instructions to find me some glass lol and he looked at me as though I'd lost my marbles, well I'm off to experiment with what I can find. See you in the FB group. Tfs xo
Love these! I remember doing them once before with you on a previous prompt. Can't wait to see what everyone does with this prompt. Off to watch Kylie!
Good morning nina, another sunday...this is something I love doing, just seeing what happens and in the end having a mess on the table, paints, papers, materials and hopefully promising results to use for books, tags... looking forward to see how you are going to use them. Have a good week and see you soon, love lenaxxx
A very interesting video and you managed to get some interesting prints. I have tried this before but was unhappy with my prints but I'll will have a go later.
Never heard of this before, they’re so lovely!! I was thinking of using my embossing machine to squish, careful to avoid any messes, of course, by encasing in a large storage bag. Even if my idea doesn’t work, it’ll be a great project to do with the kiddos.
Too bad you couldn’t hear my reaction when you lifted the black paper from the glass plates!!! Love the results you got. I first saw Shannon Green do this a couple years ago. I made the glass plates and edged with the duck tape and loved the results. I have used all my prints, and forgotten how much I enjoyed the process. I will have to use something other than the glass because I did not store them properly and they broke. Seeing your experiments I now have lots of alternatives!!!! Thank you so much for this lovely idea. The internet in my neighborhood has been off and on all month. They can’t seem to find the problem. While we had service this A.M. I am going to binge! LOL. TFS. I did. God bless and stay safe.
I loved seeing the results from the different things I used. The plexiglass worked very well and is much safer than glass. I loved this when Shannon introduced us to it a few years ago. Have a great weekend 😘
Another P.S. thanks for doing some in multiple colors. When I did mine I only used one color. The Arteza used in that way is gorgeous? So glad I have some metallic Arteza to play with when I revisit this technique. 😀😜👍🙏🤪
I appreciate that you tried various materials/surfaces. They all have some qualities and obviously some work better than others but I think (for example) bendy, soft 'sheets' will create different fractals than rigid sheets - like cling film or polythene (bag) compared to perspex, plexiglass or glass! (Not sure if cling film could be used in this technique but you never know..) Also the type, make and viscosity of paint, amount of added water or medium etc. can all contribute to the process and finished effect. Oh, and can't forget the paper or card used to take the print - and the pressure applied to get the print. So much to experiment with. Really interesting and exciting stuff to delve into. Thanks so much for your video on this! (Sorry - I'm off on a creative buzz now!) :o) note: artist Max Ernst used dendritic painting along with frottage and other techniques to create some magical works!
Hi Nina! I have been able to fairly control the dendritic process to create birds, butterflies and dragonflies. I create art with these and sell the cards at a local shop. I was also inspired by the same TH-camrs that you were. I’m glad you are sharing the process with people in your video! (I have made a video of the process of making the birds, but I didn’t know if I could post it here. :)
I had some pieces of glass saved from old picture frames. Never got around to using them ... was cleaning up my area not paying attention and cut my self on one of those corners! I was so upset I said nope and tossed them!
You do need to be careful. That’s why I added the duck tape to mine and it’s much safer now. I hope you can find an alternative to use. Happy Creating 💕
I am new to dendritic painting, I thought it was just a technique used in glass making for jewellery etc. I must have a play at this. I suppose anything firm and slippery x 2 would work. Anyway, shall have fun exploring possibilities!
@@NinaRibenaMixedMedia had a little go today with stamp blocks. Of course couldn't think where I hid the big box of paints! Luckily I found a couple and some gold glitter paint from the £1.00 shop, didn't think it would work but wow, really pleased with the results.
Hi Nina. Been watching this again. Wonder if 2 gel plates would work? Prob not. They'd probably stick together forever, lol! But I do think it could work using gel plate with acetate or plexiglass or something.. hmmm.
I’ve no idea how I’ve managed to avoid this technique for so long!! I love the results you got Nina, definitely something new for me to try. I do sometimes wonder if I’m losing my marbles missing so much, or am I just not remembering!!! 🤔 tfs xxx💕
Question.. I'm not having much success. I think it is my cardstock. Should I be using the heavier stock? Mixed media paper? I sandwiched glass and also hard plastic.
Hi Kim, it should work with any type of smooth paper or cardstock, but mixed media paper might be a bit too textured. You need to squish the glass or hard plastic together so the pattern is formed when you pull the plates apart. You need to lay the paper on the glass or plastic and rub over the card/paper very gently, otherwise you will flatten the pattern that was formed. I hope that helps 💕
Oooh, those last ones are lush!… not something I have ever tried.Sometimes get similar effect to some of them just squishing to pieces of painty paper together 😊X
Love the idea of getting two prints that are nearly identical so you can make a double sided postcard or trading card!
Wow,...they turned out so well. Really different look. Imagination gone WILD!!
Nina I like this very much.
to use different materials with paint on it and the structure on the black paper is really beautiful.
I love dentritic printing. That black card stock😍 immediately got me thinking of the beautiful Christmas cards those could make with the right color card/paint combo. Even a pearly white on blue would be beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing, Nina!
I always think Christmas when I see these patterns. I think I will be using this for my cards this year 💕

Thanks Robyn , a mad scientist at heart 😘
