Thanks for the video. very helpful. I applaud you for being able to get to those two bolts on the bottom of the alternator. I could not do it. I had to take the tire off and get in from the side and bottom. writing this so in case some other shade tree mechanic like me gets stuck by not being able to get the bottom bolts. thanks again!

Taking the tire off is a good way to do it , also helps with putting the belt back on,

taken bracket out of the way is being smart , avoid injuries to hands and fingers, I'm 64 and doing alternator swap in my front yard. and it's taken me 47 mins to remove it. most videos and tech talks are bs ,you don't need to jack the engine up or losen motor mount brackets. you smart always say reevaluate the situation

How many miles did the crv have when the alternator failed ? Thank you in advance

You know that’s a good question I would say probably about 100 to 130,000 miles

Instead of taking the power steering res right out I just unbolt the two tens that it sits on and bungy corded it to the side and out the way, way less messier and give you enough room to pull her right out from the top.

With the bracket and resvour all together just off to the side

That’s another way of doing it and it’s fine. I’m always advocate in my older age taking more out makes it easier on this old man lol

Would this need to be done if the car battery light and other lights on the dash light up when car is at idle?

Not completely bad just bad enough to feed back and turn the alternator light on. That’s why it’s still charging.
