This picture encapsulates much of my feelings after watching Dune part two. There is the feeling of time in the shifting sands and the elegant architecture. A feeling of space. Dune is time itself.
@@stewartfraser5357 Absolutely! After the first one Messiah will be less action focused and more philosophical. Children is like a mix of the previous two, action packed but still thought-provoking. So you shouldn’t miss any of them! Since then I finished God Emperor as well. I would recommend you to consider reading that too. Very enjoyable book.
Friendly reminder that one of Grimes' first albums is based on Dune. It's called Geidi Primes and many of the songs are for different characters and places in the books.
The music made me recall the vibes of Atlantis III pc game and my first impressions of Egypt when the doors of Hurgada airport opened and hot & dry air enveloped me. I consider the Atreides felt the same when the spacecraft door opened and Arrakis heat flooded in
As much as I loved the movie and thought the visuals were awesome, I did feel like the city itself was a bit lacking aesthetically. This thumbnail is cool because it captures the Middle Eastern influence from the books and also looks more alien.
Thanks! Yeah this is how I pictured things when I read the book. I like the idea that it was more elaborate rather than on the minimal side like the movie. Still loved the aesthetic from the movie tho!
Denis got 😊it mostly correct, although there are unfortunate departures from source materials. His ending makes Dune Messiah difficult with the break between Paul and Chani. I've enjoyed all six Herbert novels, and most of those from his son Brian and Anderson. I give Villeneuve a B on this effort. His grand sets and world building are extraordinary, even if he plays the auteur card with the characters. Perhaps Nolan would be a better director for Dune sequels. I'd love for Villeneuve to revisit Sicario!
*Its sound like the soundtrack of world of warcraft burning crusade and the out land. If you listen the soundtrack of Dalaran for exemple, its sound like the music of Dune 2.*
Fell asleep counting identical sand trout jumping over a dune to this. One after the other, until I found myself buried deep beneath the present in a prescient state of infinite possibilities. In that state, I realized the trout in my dreams all looked identical, because they all were me, or different versions of what I may yet become. When the next trout jumped - I took control. I became the little maker that I'd been this whole time, long before I was conceived in my mother's womb - a victim of violent genetics and their rapine compulsion to mold life into their own tragic image, regardless of what their hosts want. But this time, I took control of my destiny. I dove into the dune instead of jumping over, burrowed myself deep under the sand... And when I woke, I exploded out into the world as the mighty worm - Shai-Hulud itself. Happiness was finally mine to possess.
Huh, never saw the 84 Dune movie. A friend of mine is a hard Dune fan and he said he really liked every production including the tv series. Got to read these books
Would love to know as well. I heard the movie architecture was designed to resemble brazilian brutalism with Ziggurat architecture mixed in and in some buildings I do recognise the futuristic, yet archaelogical look.

I must not stress.
Stress is the mind killer
Stress is the cracked jewel
that leads to destruction
I will face my stress
I will let it pass through me and watch where it goes
until only I remain.
Stressing over stress is making it worse.

It's the stress over stress over stressing over stress that gets me.
I *;must* relax and the daunting task of it stresses me out.
You shouldn't. Turn stress into our friend. Stress will come and go.
Reading Dune while listening to this. Thanks Frank Herbert and Denis Villeneuve
Same❤
And Hans Zimmer ofc😀😀

This music is so good thank you
Just watched dune 2, and this ambience is EXACTLY what I needed. Thanks so much!
I just finished reading Children of Dune while listening to this. It was an amazing journey!
I’ll be starting Dune Messiah soon! How would you rate Children of Dune in comparison to the first 2 books? Worth the read I imagine?

This awakens something in me like a memory of a dream that is profoundly haunting.
Dreams are messages from the deep.
Awakening a Dead Cleopatra... There's a concept.

Right!? It’s so familiar
I want to express my gratitude that you have introduced me to such great sounds
This thing is just great. Music is deep, picture is spectacular. The whole feeling is stunning! Thanks for your work!
I love it, it reminds me of the soundtrack of Skyrim and I think that is something good
Deep Focus achieved, thank you.
Dune II is the new Empire Strikes Back
Messiah even more so.
The audacity of them having to compare or ascribe this to something other, it's just wrong towards both works.
Experience them on their own :)
