    Best video on how to build an outdoor fireplace ever!! Took me one weekend to build (by myself) while hubby was at work… only thing different I did was added cement boards and tiled it… came out fantastic!! And using the blocks and pads I literally had at home!

    We appreciate this video so much Uncle Dave! We found it while we were extending our patio area with pavers and decided adding a fireplace would be perfect. We did the basic build on a solid foundation and added batwing wood boxes to each side. For a finished look, I parged it and coated it with a concrete resurfacing paint to seal it. It even has low voltage lighting!
    All it needs now is a crane to do a little cast iron cooking. Yeah, it's an afterthought but tapcons will do fine.
    Wish I could share a picture but it is TH-cam. Thanks for the inspiration!

    I've seen several different fireplace builds now. What no one shows is a fire going in the fireplaces. Would like to see the draw and how it looks. Also, always interested in how well is puts out heat. I have a small outdoor fireplace and we like to use it in winter. It's nice to be out there in the snow with a fireplace right there, and the heat the fireplace gives off is as important as how it looks for us. After we build a regular sized fireplace, we want to build a small outdoor area around it and we want to know that small area can be a bit warmer from the fireplace.

  • @PainterD54
    @PainterD54 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I built one just next to my patio, (with the chimney tight against the outside edge of the roof) so we can sit by the fire even when it's raining or snowing. I made my own pattern so I could make the firebox not as deep (throws more heat out the front) My opening is 24" high and 32"wide which is perfect. I also had to go much higher to get the chimney higher than the roof so it ended up being about 11' tall with the chimney cap on it.

      Ive had fires in them for year and havent had one crack.
      Even set off smoke bombs in them that burn at 2,400 degrees.
      Im sure there is a chance of them cracking. But this is why i showed how to make a fireplace using the dry stack method. If one ever cracks, takes about 20 mins to unstack and replace one.
