If you buy the dough this is technically not a recipe.

Ok, so eat the dough by itself…

Hello, I have a FULL free class on my youtube channel! Check it out if you are interested! Pizza measurement, how to hand stretch, how to knead, and bake at home or at the restaurant. NO clickbait, but just trying to grow my channel during the lockdown.

I have loved this video since it came out! My adult daughter texted to say today is National Pizza Day & she and a friend are doing this, she remembers how much fun it was when she was a kid

Love U Melissa Clark. Been watching all of your videos almost in a row. I like the way you talk and the different easy approach to cooking.

Buying your dough is easy for sure. But it's not making pizza from scratch as the title says.

If you do make your own dough, make sure you age it in the fridge at least overnight. Its essential to give the pizza that extra flavor-- you'll see the difference if you compare!!

Looks close to what you'd receive at any good pizzeria in Napoli, Italy. Best pizza in the world.
But if Little Caesars is your preference, yeah it's not that.

@Gilgamesh417 because pizza dough takes like 10 mins of actual "doing" to make your self, the rest is just waiting and the results are far superior - once you make your own dough you'll never go back.
If I make something "from scratch" I start with raw ingredients. I'd have no real issue if the video was called "topping pizzas" or something similar, but then I wouldn't have watched the video at all.

There are several problems with this video, which I have decided to list here:
    0:13 - 0:18, comic sans.
0:26, recommending buying frozen dough, what the hell is wrong with you?
1:42, You are making a fucking tutorial, at least do it correctly.
3:07, The whole tomato rant, of course a pizzeria doesn't use pasta sauce, no one uses pasta sauce. And skipping the tomato sauce is an awful idea, tomatoes are a legit topping, but they should NEVER be used to replace tomato sauce.
    3:37, that will be raw.

hate to correct you but that is not pizza from scratch, you encouraging people to buy the dough already made. perhaps you should change the title of the video.

@whitesonar Why not? It saves you the trouble of making it yourself and a willing pizzeria might be willing to sell you it. That said, most pizzerias probably won't.

    continued.
3:35, you are supposed to cover the whole pizza with cheese, not have individual bites of it.
4:31, It gets burnt because you didn't cover the whole pizza with cheese.
5:27, Despite all that, you still managed to burn it
6:00, It's ugly and covered in wheat, because you put the pizza into the oven in a retarded manner earlier.
6:22, Why in the world are you using whole leaves, that will taste foul and slip off while you try to bite into the pizza
    6:40, What? Why?

So much dumb stuff in this video, if you have even a little experience making pizza at home. And how sadly austere the finished product looks! Put some cheese, oil, sauce and tasty toppings on that thing. Making luscious-looking homemade pizzas is just not all that hard.
I'm surprised Melissa hasn't prevailed upon NYT to quietly pull this video.
