The tuned-percussion rendition of Carillon is a stunningly beautiful high spot of an otherwise fairly lacklustre show. Poignant too as I think this must have been John Williams’ last concert with the band.

I was fortunate to have been at this concert. It's so good to see it again. I had a seat about eight rows from the stage. It was on a Sunday evening near Christmas as I recall.

Kevin Peek seems to be out of time with the rest of the band at the start. The recorded sound quality is nowhere near as good as their concert at Wesminster. It's a real shame, these guys were the reason I took up a career as a semi pro musician. I even met Herbie once at a gig he was doing in London in 2006. He bought me a pint and let me try his 59 Fender Jazz out during the intermission. We've had him onboard for events since then as well. An absolute legend.

I remember watching this on the BBC at the time. I've wanted to get a copy of it ever since. So strange to imagine this was nearly 40 years ago. It seems like yesterday. Massive thanks for the upload.

I was luck to see SKY in the 80's and they have had a huge influence, I still have all their albums on cassette and LP, thank you for this video. Herbie still has the same old 2nd hand Fender bass....

Brings back great memories of a fantastic band. Huge thanks for this upload. I still have the first 6 albums I purchased way back in the 80's.

My pleasure Alexis. We share the same memories! I saw them live in concert twice at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea. The reissued albums are great from Esoteric Recordings.

I'm mentally (re)arranging Telex from Peru to add steel drums and horn section. That's one funky llama!

I would very much like to see Sky come and play in Adelaide South Australia it would be fantastic seeing that these guys got together for a gig 12 months ago and they still sound terrific.

My first ever "rock" concert of any kind was Sky at Thebarton Theatre in Adelaide, 1984 (just after Williams had left). I had a Row A seat right in front of Steve Gray. Very memorable evening, loved it immensely.

An incredibly group of talented musicians. John Williams was a beast on the Spanish guitar. I was lucky enough to have them live twice in my hometown. I just wish they'd kept going for longer.

@@MahlerHolic1860 Yes, I have. I got them all the remasters so crisp and clear. Mind you I had my original copies on cassette that my uncle did for me. He wanted me to see what I thought of them. I loved them. Got them all on cd first time round. Now I have them on my phone @320kbps. I am just so glad for YT. All of the bits and pieces of Sky floating around makes for good listening. But live is where Sky shine bright. Because they're all so good at what they place. Herbie's been round the block a few times as musician. I even had Westinster Abbey on VHS! Thanks for putting this up it really brings back such happy memories for me of his band.

@@MahlerHolic1860 Their music has the ability to transend all age groups. It could a simple piece or something extremely complex, these giuys look as it they could do it with their eyes shut. A lot of the stuff on Sky 3 when Steve Gray joined is really beautiful. Westwind stands out for me. So does Chiropodie No 1. Kudos to your son for playing bass. I never had the finger skill to play a musical instrument. I wish could have though.
